Escale En Indonésie

Escape en Indonésia is utterly pleasant fresh scent without any sharp or harsh nuances. I'm not a fan of citrus scents but I have always been enjoying to wear this one. It's so so soft, not crispy and rather comforting than energising which is rare if we are talking about the citrus category. Neroli and Jasmine are pretty yet gender neutral. I don't think this leans into green but it stays bright with beautiful salty and sensual touch from Ambergris. It's not animalic in any kind of way, it just makes this citrus scent more than just a fresh citrus perfume. Sandalwood helps to keep the aroma smooth and silky but it never gets thick nor creamy. I'm wondering why women haven't found this scent since there is nothing masculine nor feminine character in this one, it's totally neutral. Escape en Indonésia is absolutely a great choice to wear in hot temperatures but it doesn't feel unsuitable for colder weather either, it's great office scent as well. It doesn't last all the day and a sillage is minimal but I don't see that it's a problem in this kind of perfume. You can easily overspray it, bath in it and you get a gentle veil over you and it's like your second skin. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. Magic!!! Finally got to try the colognes from Les Indemodables and they didn't disappoint! Well this one certainly didn't. It's a really fine study on grapefruit, sharp in the opening but with a sweetness and sherbert fizz to it. The midsection is a kind of mossy wood but it's not really bitter like some citrus/oakmoss things and that's not to it's detriment. Citrus and fresh white florals is a pretty well trodden path but this has some very good, naturalistic vibe to it, the sweetness I mentioned likely coming from jasmine. I noticed some comparisons in the 'smells like...' and I get that there's an ambergris quality to this perfume so comparing it to the Ambre from this brand is entirely valid in one sense...it probably uses their excellent, ultrasonic extraction/tincture thingy, which I've tried on it's own and is excellent, however probably slightly misleading to say smells like...but anyway. It reminds me ( a little bit when it's dried down) of vintage Dior Eau Sauvage, I think there might even be a rounding sandalwood accord in there. It's wonderful. Really, I mean it should be hard to get excited for a perfume which is basically a citrus cologne but I respect that citrus is one of the hardest things to do as a perfumer, ad this is elevated by great materials and world class compounding, so it deserves praise.

A rush of bright citric Bergamot and Pettigrain. A delightful blossoming of Neroli and Jasmine. An undercurrent of brackish Ambergis. Modern with a glance backwards at colognes of the past, Escale En Indonésie is a beautifully clear, sparkling, well structured fragrance, each element seguing into the other with graceful ease. Gorgeous. Purchased after trying the full sample/discovery set ( excellent value BTW), my actual bottle arrives tomorrow. The minor concern is that the Ambergris in the sample isn't as dense as I'd like, and from reading a few other reviewers, maceration/oxidisation seems to help boost it's potency after a few months. So, my big gamble is that Ambergris performance will amplify over time. Fingers crossed. Longevity from tester is roughly four to five hours, with sillage being a close bubble/skin scent. Hoping I can update in a few months regarding effects of masceration. Update - 4 months later, and yes, the ambergris is already showing an amplified strength, with the citric nature receding a little. Amazing after a good bladed shave. Love it, and I think when it's gone I would have to purchase again.

First let's talk about the elephant in the room. This is 99% natural and on top of that, it's an Eau De Cologne. So don't go into this expecting "beast" performance. It's also not a mass appeal fragrance (by todays standards). Now, let's talk about the good. This is a 99% natural fragrance that has real ambergris featured prominently! The ambergris was found in Sumatra and is used in 5% concentration. I wish I could get a 2 liter of this cologne and dump it all over me but it's expensive. I have many Italian colognias that I love but this is French and it feels like a vintage French gentleman's cologne. Tangy lemon and bergamot and green petigrain over a bed of salty ambergris with a slight animalic tinge. Petigrain lends a touch of green. Astringent, but sandalwood and jasmine softens it up. This is so good I close my eyes and spray it on my face just so I can smell it longer. Reminds me of the ambergris in the vaulted Creed Chevrefeulle! Performance is similar to chevrefeulle as well. Addictive. Absolutely Beautiful. Scent 10/10 Performance 2/10

Very nice, very natural-smelling, very Creed-esq scent profile. Evidently this has natural ambergris, so it's not a surprise that it evokes similarities to Creed's house DNA. I get the comparisons to Creed Chevrefeuille. I sprayed this Escale Indonesie pretty heavily on clothes. Yes, I wish this was in a higher concentration than EDC. But as I was getting subdued whiffs off my shirt hours into the drydown, it became apparent which other Creed this reminded me of: Vetiver Geranium from its Aqua Originale line. Now, Escale Indonesie doesn't list a Geranium note, and the geranium in Vetiver Geranium is amped way up. The note structure is different but it certainly evokes a similar profile to my nose. Some may be put off by Vetiver Geranium's 11 O'Clock geranium, but Escale Indonesie is a subdued, well-blended and extremely pleasant scent.

I have been wearing this for a few weeks now and it just keeps getting better. The top notes are citrus and neroli but within seconds, the ambergris starts to develop and it steals the show. This then dries down to a pure Ambergris with faint supporting notes of neroli and sandalwood and creates a slightly leathery feel, too. Because this is mostly a ambergris scent, it really works year round and in virtually all circumstances. It is masterfully elegant and is absolutely perfect for work or at home. I own a lot of very nice fragrances but this one is now amongst my very favorites. I should also mention that I hate synthetic fragrances, and especially ambroxan. This however, smells beautifully natural and unique. May also be a bit of a throwback to 80s Italian gentleman fragrances. Love it

The pros of this is to experience a super high quality ambergris in Eau de cologne concentration. It does not project strong or last long but it really is beautiful, and distinctive. It is the same ambergris from Ambre Supreme but it does not smell as mineral due to the oil concentration. It opens with a fresh citrus and soft neroli. It is so light, so shy, so beautiful and it is giving so little, so little and I am in lust, I want more and more. It does not shine if you sample this at the same time with other perfumes. But on its own, on the hottest and most humid day, it is a true gem.

Can’t say that I get any comparison to Sauvage personally. Although I find it’s in the same wheelhouse so to speak in terms of what it does and what it’s for. Very lovey refreshing composition. I get great performance from it as well. If I didn’t know any better I would say it is an EDT due to its staying power. If you’re a fan of ambergris you should certainly sample this. I get ambergris from the beginning to the dry down and it’s lovely. Quality is there and the blending is well done. A very nice EDC style fragrance with a fantastic ambergris note weaving in and out.

I don't know if many get noseblind to this, but I leave home at 5 in the morning and a colleague could smell it by lunchtime when I was standing about one arm's length from him. He smelled the citrus and jasmine and said it smelled like summer in his garden (west coast of southern Sweden) where he has a jasmin bush. And I do three sprays (two on each side of the back of the neck and one on my forearm)! Anyhow, I love to wear this one in the height of summer. The greasy, salty drydown is lovely, and I also get a hint of petrichor. Fresh, bright citrus with a dark edge!

Au naturale~~pale, sun-bleached hair and salty skin. Briny white florals emerge after the citrus fades, resting on warm, dry ambergris that glistens over sandalwood. I like this in spring, summer, and possibly early fall. There’s nothing generic or artificially zippy here. It feels vintage in style, not in scent...like a modern take on a classic cologne, crafted with natural materials. A classy move by Antoine Lie and Les Indemodables

Great EDC! Its classic in a good sense, well-balanced, nuanced, elegant citrus with a salty touch, with seaside ambargris note surprisingly well integrated with the soft jasmin, soft petitgrain, soft sandalwoodish base. Performance is great for an EDC. A happy scent for any situation that serves quality feeling, smells "real". It has an edge over most of the citus over there. Probably ordering a bottle.

Second review. I’ve been wearing this multiple days in a row now that the temps are approaching 90s here. It’s great to spray on something light, refreshing with an interesting ambergris twist. Never heavy or cloying, it plays hide and seek and comes out the more you sweat. Just a brilliant simple composition with high quality ingredients. Will have to purchase a backup bottle.

In my opinion, this is a 8-9/10 - incredibly refreshing citrus and dry wood is what appears to me at first, with breathtaking and heady, salty ambergris. Dry down is quite linear, but that doesn't bother me as I love this scent as is. I get 6-7 hrs of longevity on skin, with moderate to low sillage. Lasts longer on cotton shirt. Sampled and will be getting a full bottle.

A wonderful blend of citrus and ambergris... and that's about it. Both beautiful and boring simultaneously. This is essentially the aftershave version of Ambre Stone, which is overall better but sadly discontinued. You'll get a faint animalic note from the ambergris, that is both skanky, yet absolutely addicting. A reviewer below mentioned cement. They are not far off.

My partner just told me whatever I sprayed this morning was orgasmic. Classic, manly, fresh with natural ambergris revving it up to a pulsing degree. Douse yourself and go for a walk. It’s bliss when the slight “funk” weaves in and out of the fresh citrus. A fragrance that shouldn’t exist but I’m so glad it does. Spray with complete abandon.

Incredible. One of the best fragrances I have recently tried. It’s simple and unassuming. An Eau de cologne with a slug of real ambergris. Fresh, musky and masculine. Keeps you sniffing. Spray with abandon! I kind of wish they made a larger splash bottle of this. Napoleon would have loved it.

Very nice high quality citrus eau de cologne with real ambergris. This has abysmal performance in colder weather but in high heat/humidity this lasts and radiates quite well. On my skin I get a sweeter, less aromatic version of Dior’s eau Sauvage with a ton of ambergris.

Oh my god after letting my sample age for a few months the ambergris is really coming out. It is amazing it smells like the texture of actual butter but a bit lighter. It is creamy ambergris jeez very good. It took a couple months to really come out in the vial

9/4/2021: I am just going to be short: this is worth having a backup bottle. Edit: this is a great profile scent but it’s kinda weak maybe with a stronger concentration as eau de Parfum I will give it 10/10 but right now it’s a 7

A cologne where ambergris is front and center, in the freshest of ways. This is what vintage Jicky would be without the vanilla and lavender. My bottle is going to run dry fast.
