Desert Suave

Blind bought because I’m collecting Quentin Bisch frags. I didn’t know what to expect at all with this scent. When it arrived, I sampled it and learned I needed to let my bottle macerate for a few days. The premature testing didn’t turn out well and I was scared to touch this scent again-it came off as sooooo strong and rich and concentrated, I worried I’d suffocate others around me. But, Christmas was approaching, and I got a spiced gumdrop vibe from this scent, so I bravely sprayed myself all over. And what a delight. It took a few hours to realize I liked the scent. It’s so different from anything I tried before, my brain couldn’t understand what I was smelling. The scent also evolves as you wear it. When I spray, it’s a bit more like strong vintage spicy cologne with a super sweet candied date dominant note. Then after a few minutes, it begins to mellow out and turn more candy gourmand. The cardamom initially reads like liquorice to my nose but mellows into more chai as it dries down. The dates are sticky sweet. It smooths out and begins smelling like a strong sugary candy spicy gourmand, with some Christmas vibes. But this isn’t just for Christmas- This scent lasts forever. It’s rich and projects all day and night. But something happened in the drydown overnight... I woke up and I kept smelling a beachy tropical smell. Coconut, spicy sandalwood, the sun baking on an expensive wood patio aromatic kind of feeling. I realized it was the next day drydown of this scent. Then I realized that the spicy sunbaked sandalwood note i was smelling is nearly identical to the sandalwood base in Simone Andreoli’s Malibu Party in the Bay, which is a extrait high end clone of Virgin Island Water. The next day drydown of Desert Suave really reminds me of a VIW type scent, only swapping the citrus for cardamom spice, and if you candied the coconut. Once Desert Suave begins to fade, the dates fade into a sugary syrup scent and a sandalwood base comes through more, but the way the sugar & wood interact, it gives me summer sunshine tropical vibes instead of winter Christmas candy vibes. I wonder if I can accelerate this scent into summer by spraying lighter and sitting in the sun for awhile...? This scent is powerful. Feels niche. Very sugary “vintage candy style” gourmand with strong spicy notes and enough woods to push away the “Cloud wearing cupcake chasers.” You need to have confidence to wear this. It’s a delightful journey from Holidays to Vacation. Happiness in a bottle. It’s probably one of the top 5 most unique scents I own. I will be buying a backup. I love it!

I wore this as my scent of the yesterday since I was fortunate enough to obtain a sample, and this morning, I'm still smelling it radiating from my skin. The sample I received was 0.7 ml, so a very little goes a very long way. I did use the entire sample, so performance may vary depending on how much you spray. So, obviously, this has beast performance and for the price, I would expect nothing less. This is a beautiful scent. In my opinion, completely unisex. I agree with some of the others that the sesame doesn't stick around long enough but overall, this is a magical elixir. I don't actually think that the sesame disappears but that the fragrance is so well blended that you can't isolate it much once it dries down. The combination of all the notes together turn this fragrance into something truly special. The company, Liquides Imaginaires, want to transport you to a different mindset with their creations and I couldn't help but envision myself lounging around a beautiful oasis in the desert when I caught wafts of this throughout the day. It is warm, rich, woody and sweet. At this writing, it's just under 20 hours since I first sprayed it on and it is still projecting from my skin. The projection for the first 8 hours was enormous, and the sillage was extremely good for the first 7-8 hours as well before it finally started to settle in closer to the skin. However. even though it's been so long since I first sprayed it, it's still radiating within arms reach. I'm not trying to sniff it, I just keep catching wonderful wafts of it as I move my head around. At the price, I wouldn't recommend a blind buy but in my opinion, it is definitely worth the hefty price tag. I would always recommend sampling before but I can't imagine anyone not loving this fragrance. It really is something special. I'm looking forward to testing out more from this house. Smell : 10/10 Longevity : 10/10 Projection : 10/10 Sillage : 9/10 Overall : a masterpiece.

I received 5mL splits of both L'Ile Pourpre and Desert Sauve layering the second a few hours after putting on L'Ile Pourpre and right before I went outside on a very muggy, 90% humidity, 88°F day in NYC. At first spray I was not impressed and mostly got pretty florals (dry though) and just alcohol. Immediately I thought of the TX Lavendar from Boyds of Texas and how dry the lavender notes were in that perfume and wondered if I should just get a full bottle of that. Well nvm - no shade to that scent but I want to layer L'Ile Pourpre and Desert Sauve for the rest of summer, every day, as long as I can afford it! The heat IMMEDIATELY made everything come to life. The tart fig and herbal chaos of L’Ile Pourpre started humming and gave off something like an "iced tea ~potion~", while Desert Suave wove in like sun-warmed spices in a humid hot wind. My skin turned into an altar of resin, juice, and ritual. It’s giving fever-dream oasis priestess. The projection and trail is so enchanting I had two men arguing over what they were smelling when I was checking out at my wine shop. The drydown is this whispery veil of cardamom-slicked fig and incense—less “I just showered” and more “I don't mind walking in the rain (that I summoned) in a sheer silk slip.” Also, this lasted. Not nuclear, but strong and persistent. Every time I moved, I got a different facet. Layering holy grail unlocked!!!

I love this perfume. Really great stuff, evokes some very interesting vibes of gourmand, creamy, floral and the desert dry warmth of the title. I think the opening is almost fruity but I don't perceive it as smelling like dates, but it's definitely sweet but not in a sticky way. Then comes a clever twist which evokes a North African vibe to me giving the desert aspect but not just by using dry heat but a creamy woody, warm sand and spiced air approach. Sandalwood would be a perfect basis to do this and if I hadn't read the notes prior (given they are accurate and cover all the accords etc which they rarely do) I'd have said this was sandalwood but it's a clever concoction. The white floral aspect adds a creamy waxiness probably supported with resin/vanilla 'amber' but smooth and spicy with cardamom too. Just to mention the note in the opening is something like a really classy grape soda, not just a cheesy methyl anthranilate sort of orange blossom accord but a much more palatable and interesting one and it's disguised in what is a unique experience. Having said that...I've smelled perfumes similar to this before (I want to say Serge Lutens had one?) but few as modern and well rendered, I have to say the musky, creamy drydown of this perfume goes on and on, but not in an annoyingly tenacious way. I think it's fantastic!

Awesome pick-up for relatively cheap--$92 for a full sealed bottle from MaxAroma. Score! I'd only smelled this once before and only remembered liking it, so this was close to a blind buy. Well, this can just about qualify as one of the best blind buys I've ever done. I think the descriptions here give a good enough sense to make you make the decision to buy or not, for those on the fence. This leans masculine for sure. Great fall/winter scent with its smooth spices, but could see it being okay in the heat... mainly because the one time I tried it before I bought it was actually in the Summer! Longevity is incredible. All day performance, and it didn't become a skin scent until after I showered ~12 hours after spraying. Could still smell it then. Super high quality smelling ingredients as well. Comes across pretty natural to me. The bottle is really cool. The cap is the best finished cap of any fragrance I've encountered. As a watch enthusiast, it gave me that sort of vibe. They also included a travel pouch to protect it. Definitely a nice extra. This was my first purchase of this brand! Of my relatively large collection, I think this is a standout choice.

Strangely alluring. Mesmerising. One of those scents like Tauers L’air du Desert Marocain. Strangely feminine but wearable by men. Transports you somewhere exotic, maybe sand dunes in Egypt near a market, close by a vendor is selling pungent dates whilst you are sweating diluted sesame seed oil. Some cardamom in the background. Creamy carrots, sweet. Exotic oriental with just a whisper finish of Rose. Man, I’m going to have to try this some more, it’s just one of those scents that’s so unique you just have to keep sniffing but as addictive as it is you’re a guy and you know this is just on the verge of ‘not a men’s scent, I mean really???’ Sort of thing. You want to buy it though cos it so good. It ambushes you - it’s like Comme Des Garçons Black except not as dark and sharp. On the longer dry down it becomes more syrupy, some what Desert wine like, a bit more muted and the orange blossom takes a big step forward finishing with some rose - some what resinous. Here, it becomes and evolves more toward a ladies scent IMO. Amazingly I still want to buy it - if my girlfriend wore it I would be nuzzling her all the time.

Desert Suave offers an extremely unique take on dates. Usually, most of my dates fragrances are paired with cinnamon, nutmeg, amber, vanilla, amber wood and other very heavy, base notes. In Desert Suave the dates are paired with floral, fresher notes on one side and bitter, woody, earthy, soft spicy ones on the other side. What I am trying to say here is that it is more balanced and interesting compared with the other date dominant perfumes that I have. The performance is great, it’s long lasting and projects well for the first 2 hours after application. Past that it lingers for about 9 hours on clothes but with a more moderate sillage. It works nice during spring days, since the weather is in between seasons. Some days warmer and sunny, others cooler and rainy. This fragrance it’s sweet, fruity/floral, with warm, soft spicy, aromatic nuances, which makes it fairly versatile. Might work during the summer but maybe wear it during the nights, it might be too sweet and overpowering in the day’s heat. Where I think it shines most it’s fall weather, it’s cozy and warm and enveloping.

An absolutely underrated masterpiece. Actually to me it’s better that it’s less known by people so u won’t smell it everywhere cz hey the level of genius behind this is a showstopper! The sweetness, the spices, the warmth you get after smelling it, just wow: Mystery, desert, makes u feel like a princess or a prince of the Arabian nights. And in a more everyday context it really gives off the feeling of a very charming mystery man or an exciting full-of-surprises-woman! I gifted this to my husband and I ended up being jealous I didn’t use it for myself. One spray fills the room, and darn it stays on his neck FOREVER. Okay okay I can’t complain for gifting it to him 😋 Plus I can wear it on other personal occasions too! 😁 Performance is top-notch. All u want in a perfume. Again I’m surprised people don’t talk about this more often. I would wear it everyday cz that’s how much I love it but it can really make an impression if u need it for a date night or special occasions.

Man oh man this is so so good. Definitely getting the resemblance to Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum but this is even better and the performance is incredibly good longevity and sillage wise. The dates and sesame take this fragrance to a whole new level. It’s very sweet but also very spicy and airy. I never knew sesame seeds could smell so good. And the orange blossom is a great touch. I was at scent bar trying to find something that would blow me away and this was love at first sniff. Knew I needed a bottle immediately. I really wanted a new patchouli fragrance but nothing stood out to me very much. Then I asked one of the employees to show me something from the ‘spice’ shelf and they pulled this bad boy out. I’m so glad they did. This is a 10/10 fragrance for me. Excited to explore more from LLI!

Juicy yet somehow dry, floral orange citrus and warm cardamom. Rose quietly adds to the juiciness, and the sesame is also more subtle for me, with a slightly bitter nuttiness like you'd get from eating un-toasted seeds. Not as much in the way of dates as I would like, they're here but sort of underneath everything, and more of an accent to the fragrance than a note for me. Unisex. 6 to 8 hours longevity over light moisturiser, with a low intensity but moderate sillage. Nice in hot weather as it will breezily trail off around you and isn't a heavy layer of fragrance. Layers fantastically with L'Ile Pourpre, or in cooler weather with Tonka Cola.

Testing this today. This is a banger. I had a feeling I'd end up really liking this as the combo of notes is right up my alley. I was sitting here trying to figure out what this smells like as I've smelled something similar to this recently. It's the new Chloe Nuit D'Egypte. Obviously Desert Suave came first and yes, this is better...and with the crazy prices designer frags are going for these days, you could actually purchase Desert Suave for less than Chloe. This also smells a little bit like Milano Panettone. This is good and will be perfectly for aitumn. Another one added to the FB list.

This is absolutely wonderful. It starts off with sweet, candied dates and orange and continues to transform in the dry down. The dry down is when it becomes so gorgeous; it becomes deeper and spicier, leaning into floral/woody territory - but still slightly gourmand like an aromatic middle eastern dessert. It’s mysterious, sexy, and unbelievably unique. I can see why some say this leans feminine, but in my opinion it becomes more unisex in the dry down. The performance is fantastic, lasting on my skin all day with strong projection. This is such a unique and underrated find.

This is a strange, but exciting fragrance. The spicy and sweet notes are a bit indistigushable to me, but... that paring in addition to the modest citrus and sesame notes create an alluring combo. Someone below said it reminds them of a citrusy version of Milano Frangranze Panettone, which is such a smart comparison. This has great lasting power and sillage on my skin, and is an automatic compliment-getter. Relatively unique in my collection, Desert Suave is a heady mix of Cardamom orange blossom cream, with the dates and sesame lending a gourmand-ish, almost Middle Eastern baked dessert facet. Weirdly I get a hint of what people describe as 'bubblegum sweetness' in here (but only a hint of it), and overall it falls into the same ballpark as another fragrance of theirs, Liquide Gold. Except that one has another level of refinement to it. Anyhow very nice, easy wear with good longevity and decent Sillage too (had compliments when wearing over a workday)

This is a beautiful sweet fragrance with a touch of spice and a hint of nuttiness, Looooooove it! It opens up with syrupy dates (honeyed like), the sesame plays hide & seek just as the cardamom peeks thru. You can feel some freshness in the fragrance (orange blossom & mandarin). Its blended to perfection. Not blind buy safe tho but such a a gorgeous scent. A touch of dry spice with syrupy dates with sesame and orange zest is what this smells like but in a sexy unisex way. 10/10! Desert suave + khamrah Qahwah + fire at will = INSANE!

Contrary to the popular belief that sweet fragrances are only for fall and winter, I think you can absolutely wear Desert Suave in the summer—at least I would. I agree with Sophie Normand, who described it as "perfect for the winter that is looming on the horizon, but its warm breath is also suitable for higher temperatures." Magnificent! A beautiful oriental, just the way I like them! This Désert Suave reveals a sweet, syrupy date, almost liqueur-like, wrapped in a gentle hint of rose and a sprinkle of spices. It carried me inside a tent in the Wadi Rum desert, where - on a tray placed beside me - lay an array of oriental delicacies. Oh, bliss! Everything I love, the Orient and its delights! It is a wonderfully crafted gourmand oriental, living up to its name with the most exquisite smoothness. What a pity the price is so high...

Yesterday I was wearing this on my neck right behind my ear, and I put some over-ear headphones on to go out and shovel snow for a few hours. Today at the gym, I was wearing the same headphones and kept getting amazing whiffs of it, even though I was wearing Bois Imperial on my skin. The oil must've transferred onto my headphones when I was shoveling snow, but for it to still be projecting off my headphones the next day goes to show how well Desert Suave performs. Very underrated fragrance.

Quentin Bisch continues to be one of the young talents of the perfume world. Desert Suave will transport you into a far away land in the middle of the desert sarounded by the most beautiful oasis. It's an incredible perfume blend that makes me want to keep smelling it over and over again! His compositions are like no others that intrigues the mind and all your senses. A masterful creation! My 3 P's - Projection 7/10 - Performance 7/10 - Price 7/10

Quentin Bisch makes perfumes like no other: delinas, crivelli hibiscus, Ganymede, fleur narcotic - my all time favourite fragrances were all made by him! So I hesitated for about 20 seconds before I blind bought Desert Suave.... And let me tell you that this man never disappoints! Gorgeous and totally androgynous fragrance - id probably line it next to Ganymede in its total uniqueness.... Hands down he is the best perfumer of modern times!

Desert Suave is a huge bright fruit bomb. It smells of delicious dates, orange blossom and orange. I get some spiciness, maybe cloves and a hint of cardamom. Longevity is excellent, sillage as well. To me Desert Suave leans pleasantly on the feminine. It's one of the few I wear all round the year. Desert Suave fills me with joy and positive energy. I'm so happy I stumbled on a bargain, I'd feared it was discontinued🧡

This is an absolutely must have ! At first my wife called out that it was Paco Rabanne One Million. And I get that.. but after I tried both on at the same time there was a huge difference. This one is so soft and gentle and yet so strong. I don't know how to describe it other than mysterious. That covers it. Mysterious. It dries out to be a pleasant smell of fruits and warmth. Lasts most of the day too.

@sameenuk I very much disagree with your comment on this being “outrageously feminine” and that it would be “sus” on your skin. This is unisex right down the middle. You must not be a very confident person if you don’t think you can pull this one off. Also- this isnt the 17th century. Men can wear women’s perfumes and women can wear men’s perfumes. Don’t be so naive.

I was lucky to receive a generous sample at a press event. It's a floriental spicy scent that'll transport you to a parched desert. Glorious! Noses are Quentin Bisch and Nisrine Grillie. I’ve already written a complex and appropriate review previously but after so long I reapplied it and damn it’s the nicest ladies scent as guy could wear. Just magic! Do, today it reminds me of sweetened cooked honeyed carrots with sesame seeds. It’s more complex than that but the Homer Simpson sell...

I received this sample by accident, and what a happy accident indeed! Honey is not listed as a note, but somehow I sense it, along with the sticky dates and toasty cardamom pods. The sesame and Orange blossom are so natural smelling! Cedar is not sharp or strong - just right! This is beautiful!

I really like this and do not understand why this isn’t rated higher. It is a unisex orange blossom. The drydown is my favorite part. I am usually not a fan of sesame but, it works well in this fragrance. I know Blanche Bete is their superstar fragrance but this is more enjoyable for me.

Very pleasant smelling unique fragrance. A brand that not many people know but I think more people should look into. Especially this one smells like your walking through the desert in a classy suit. Great gourmand sweet fragrance that will make you smell great and very unique. 9/10

Beautiful fragrance. Smells amazing. Did a blind buy. Love it. Reminded me of G2 by JPG. I bought G2 in ‘06 during Christmas so to me that scent, and now Desert Suave, I can say “smells like Christmas” hallelujah

Excellent fragrance. Blind bought and happy I did, especially for the 150 total price tag I was able to find it for. Giving my review first and then the disclaimer and additional information after. Just got this in today and have played with it for half a day now, just so it's clear this is more a strong first impression than a seasoned review. Perfectly blended fragrance that hits you more as one large scent than a bunch of different notes combining. They do a great job painting a picture of what you smell with the note breakdown though: 2 or 3 pink rose petals dipped in mandarin orange essence rest atop the sesame and dates that sit nicely at the center (honestly hard to pinpoint the sesame because of how well blended this is but I think that's where I'm finding it). The dates and orange blossom sweetness come together to create that honey-like accord I spoke of. A pile of cardamom lies beneath and cedarwood chips fill the space between each seed, and it's all enveloped in orange blossom. This reminds me a LOT of orange blossom honey. I can damn near taste it when I smell this on me. Very vivid floral, almost reminiscent of honeysuckle, but I promise it goes nowhere near feminine territory. Definitely a sweet fragrance, but the slightly woodsy spices from the cardamom and cedar to keep it from ever getting even close to the range of too sweet. Gives a mature "got your stuff together" vibe, but it's certainly something I think is safe for early 20s+ if your energy compliments it well enough. Very sexy fragrance with lots of depth and it goes through a lot of phases of transformation. Do not let the note breakdown fool you into thinking this is a flat fragrance. The dry down is perceivably an entirely different fragrance than what is smelled after a few minutes of application according to those I tested with (my mom). I feel it's wearable in all seasons, but obviously best for fall/winter and night time scenarios. Does very well in hot weather without ever getting stuffy or cloying. Some might say it's even better in hot weather, honestly. This is the darkest, deepest fragrance in my collection that I can personally comfortably wear in the heat, and for that alone I'm very pleased with this acquisition. I love warm kind of fragrances like this as I feel they're very inviting to myself and others and to have something that works in the summer like this is amazing. I was gonna say "ambery" instead of "warm" but I think that helped me realize why this is so wearable in warm weather; the lack of amber accords. It creates this very noticeable subtle warmth without anything related to amber (which is my association). It definitely has similarly intended DNA (highly intentional word choice here) to the fragrances I'm going to refer to but in no way do I find it redundant, personally. It fills the same purpose as these others but they all do their own unique thing such that I'm more than happy to have them all in my collection. Reminiscent of Noir Extreme in terms of the "vibe", which is a fragrance I consider to be at the peak of my collection. Middle eastern and mysterious, my favorite combination in perfumery right now (and probably always will be). Also reminds me of my bottle of The One Luminous Night in terms of the datey-ness. The sweetness is more creamy resinous than Luminous Night and Noir Extreme. Noir Extreme has a little more effervescent zest on top that stands out a little more in comparison, but the projection can't even be compared between the two as Noir Extreme is a quite intimate (and by that I mean close to the skin) fragrance while Desert Suave is not. The spices in Desert Suave are a slight bit stronger than Noir Extreme but not as spicy as Luminous Night which can kinda choke you if you aren't careful (but I still love it). From most to least middle eastern, I'd go Luminous Night (that strength), Desert Suave, then Noir Extreme. Only way I could understand someone not liking this fragrance is potentially finding it too sweet/syrupy. I said it doesn't get close to that "too sweet" territory, but I enjoy sweet fragrances and can understand others finding it too thick of a fragrance for them. That all being said... layering Noir Extreme and Desert Suave seems to be a match made in heaven. I wanted to see how they compared so I sprayed Noir Extreme on the inside of my other elbow and I must say... whatever is swirling in the air is absolutely magical. They seem to compliment each other amazingly, which excites the hell out of me.

Wow this left the craziest impression on me even months after i first tried it. The way it made me feel is unforgettable, but very strange! Starting on practical notes- longevity and sillage is great, and i found it to be a pretty linear scent. However, that’s where my normal reaction ends. I usually am very practical in my reaction to frags. Occasions, performance, aesthetics, scent family. I never imagine scenes or scenarios like many others do like ‘you’re in a garden eating a vanilla scone drizzled in caramel’ etc I’m still new to niche but I’ve never encountered a frag that captured my imagination so much and took it to a place so purely fantastical. (Guess I understand the name of the house now) To me i imagine the person who wears this is a character that belongs to a Steampunk universe. I imagine victorian bustles, high necklines, corsets and spectacles, bronze machines, swashbuckling adventures, flying machines spewing smoke, warm golden wooden floors, classrooms, alchemy, sky pirates, brass buttons and leather heeled boots. Maybe the character is a professor in this universe idk. So yeah as for what to do with this scent in the real world i don’t know! I personally feel like very few people can pull it off. I can imagine a museum guide at a historical house wearing this or someone who has an unusual profession of hobby. Like a silversmith or an eccentric teacher. Anyways...This definitely took me to a place I didn’t expect!

This one is so beautiful . It goes thrue so many fases . Starts of sweet and sligthly spicy on me ,Changes within about 20 min to somehting more like Ambre merveilles and also abit of Stash sarah jessica Parkers woodynes ,just a fase its going thrue ,sweetnes lingers all the way ,there is a slight nuttynes from the sesam but never to much ,just adds to it. Initialy testing it i wanted abit more depth and darknes . But i truly love this as it is aswell, Sweet never cloying . its a rainy day and its perfect ,this i think would bloom in the heat aswell. But to me i says Autumn and christmas aswell.so maybe a year rounder?? Realy long lasting and keeps strong all day . Drydown after 6 hours + smells of orangeflowers and honey , so so nice. very strange infact to find this in the drydown . To me it would be a typicly top note to start of a lovely honey floral perfume . I truly love this stage . The spicey cardemome lingers beautifuly together with cedar all the way thruout. cant say i smell much rose and mandarin orange. but i guess its blended so well . Truly a great scent ,perfect dates perfume , it truly shines in here .This for sure will not me my last dates perfume or even Liquides imaginaires. If every scent is just as long lasting as this one its truly worth it . Lovely pacage and presentation to .

I wasn’t sure about this one. My initial reaction was...not for me. It was too masculine leaning (I was surprised to see the voting for Unisex/ feminine won out). However I have been wearing it on this chilly autumn day and it has grown on me quite a bit. It’s warm , spicy and enveloping. The performance is spectacular. It’s still feels a bit masculine, but a few hours in it softens. It’s sweet but not in a sugary way. The citrus is beautiful and bright in the opening. I don’t quite get sesame outright but I think it lends a dryness to the scent. Rose is there but it floats in the background (if it was not listed I am not sure I would pick it up). The cedar is smooth. I would not purchase this but I will very much enjoy wearing the rest of my decant. Honeyed dates covered in toasted spices wrapped in a swirl of Christmas orange (I smell cloves??) atop soft, warm cedar planks with white flowers floating around. That is the picture this brings to mind. (3rd scent I have tried from LI brand and all have impressed me.)

If you came for the desert, there's just too much of this white floral bouquet in here alongside dates and dry sesame... After the top blast of dry sweetness and spices settles, the bouquet veers out, giving you the impressions of orange blossom, but you'll very soon notice that it's just tuberose adorned with the orange/citrus, later revealing its true colors with the citrus calming down. It's so strong that reminds me of the far drydown of Crivelli's Tubereuse Astrale, or maybe that's just Bische peaking through to remind you who the boss is!!! :D Not necessarily feminine smelling, but certainly feminine-approved. I really wanted to like Desert Suave for the date and sesame combination, but the white floral takeover just puts it down next to a million other white floral compositions out there. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that LLI will come out with an extrait version that will squarely remain in the desert ground, until then, this is a NO for me...

This is something like the boss monster of oriental scents (in a good way). Loads of warmth and spices, sweet ripe dried dates, leathery feel, scorching dry sand and a roasted nutty feel. I'd gotten a magnificent feel similar to this from Azalai, but this one contains more floral and fresh elements compared to it. It has a seductive deliciousness. My relationship with gourmand scents is bad now, but I loved this one. Its drydown is super soft... almost milky! very cozy... I'll revisit it in winter because its season is the cold months. Been looking for the perfect date fragrance with terrible luck since the note gets a bit uric on my skin, but then I got my nose on Desert Suave. This date is beautifully spiced and honeyed, tempered deliciously by the cardamom and sesame, and the floral notes prevent the composition from turning into a overly sweet mess of molasses. Really stunning, but unfortunately, my worst olfactory nemeses, rose and cedar, come out for the last several hours of wear which will keep me from adding Desert Suave to my collection.

Too loud to be worn in high heat but definitely not a super heavy dark fragrance. Desert Suave exists in a kind of purgatory between light and airy and heavy and dank. The opening is very sweet and inviting (probably from the cinnamon and cardamom) and then it dries down into a very strong "tuberose-y" floral scent that isn't as natural or soft as I would've liked it to be. This fragrance is so conflicting because I really wanted to like it but the dry down ultimately proved to be too much for my nose.

It ever so slightly reminded me of Dior Homme Intense. It has a heavy, dense structure- I feel like the mandarin orange note is overlooked, because more than anything, I smell a blend of that and the dates in this fragrance. The orange blossom is present as well, softly orbiting the date-centered core. The sesame and cardamom push it toward an Oriental-leaning profile. It's very sweet and syrupy. I think it’s great- the longevity and projection are awesome!

Now that it is 97 degrees here in Texas, this one has really started to perform. In cooler weather, it was just all ambroxan (not listed, but def there). Today I got more textures and sweet spices. While I couldn't place the sesame specifically, it did have a sort of nutty feel. It still manages to not be autumnish or gourmand somehow. There was a brief hour in the beginning where I could understand the "desert suave" name, but it was a stretch.

Desert Suave - an invitation to the Middle East.. Festive feel, warm, with a golden hue! Makes me think of delicious exotic treats - dates, nuts, dried fruits + warm desert wind + a tuberose bouquet. The lead players here - cardamom, orange blossom, tuberose, sesame seeds, dates. Partly reminds me of Amouage Memoir and Halwa Kiss by Ojar. Great longevity, I get up to 8h on my skin. Strong, exotic, intoxicating perfume. There is a sweet, sticky spiciness to it, reminiscent of middle eastern sweets: dates, sesame and cardamom. These are lightened by a swirl of orange blossom, and eventually grounded by cedar. Good projection and longevity. I can see this wouldn’t be for everyone but I enjoy the uniqueness, and it really reminds me of travelling in the Middle East.
