Fleur De Sable

This is a scent that sits up around you and reveals parts of itself. Fantastic if there is warmth and a breeze. My brother at Xmas decided that this was the best of the bunch of scents I bought with me on my visit. He said he would wear it and he’s squeamish about unisex fragrances. It has this gorgeous salty/saline edge that as the fragrance wears, deepens and almost caramelises... hard to describe. Intriguing. First hits are this distant saltiness like a seaspray carried over warm ground so it hits you with warmth and lightness. Fruity but not cloying or sweet. It must be the rose/orange that I get mixed with the pepper and paprika that give an interesting pepperiness and bite - piquancy? That feels again, caramelised - it’s very transparent and feels light but floats around you. The light powderiness comes in later, never too much - I don’t get a recognisable rose scent but one that merges with fruit to give this lightness and clarity. With a fresh sweetness. Really beautiful. And yes my brother wore it and enjoyed it. Lasts incredibly well 7+ hours in 28C+ temps ❤️

Fleur de Sable is an unique rose forward fragrance. The composition is centred around (a new to me type of) rose, Eglantine rose, which I have to admit after testing this scent that smells really beautiful. I find it mesmerising to be honest. The myrrh, paprika, pink pepper and orris root that surrounds the rose give the juice so much warmth, creaminess, smoothness and a bit of spiciness. The rose is a lighter one, airier, moderately sweet, slightly gourmand. I have a variety of rose focused perfumes in my collection but Fleur de Sable is different. Stands out in a beautiful way. Better suited for spring and summer weather because it wears on the lighter side. Moderate to long lasting but weaker sillage. One of those gorgeous, feminine, pretty perfumes that nobody talks about. If you’re looking for a new rose fragrance for the next sunny seasons, try getting a decant or a sample. It truly deserves one’s attention and time. Packaging and presentation is five stars. Unique bottle design and high quality materials used.

i'm not particularly a fan of rose-forward perfume, as they are often too boring, too simple, too disappointing. i do enjoy the ones with a different approach to rose, such as the dry and bitter types, the thorny and stemmy ones, or the or the fresh and dewy types. this one surely belongs to the third category. there is no soapiness or aldehydes, which are often the bane of rose perfumes - this one is smooth and tranquil. to me it smells just like a whole bush of the rugosa rose that grows everywhere in those early summer days, filling the air with their opulent, intoxicating aroma. there is enough mandarin and spice to make this scent vibrant and give it that extra nuance of a jammy, lightly sweet, slightly tart rose that can be enjoyed in a donut, on your cheesecake, in your lemonade. that being said, this fragrance is linear and predictable, but it stays on for ages!

A great example of how pepper could be gracefully blended into the creation, being a bit edgy but not overpowering the whole thing. To me this is a greener and less sweet sister of Rose 01 by Swiss Arabian, which also has a Delina vibe. Rose 01 is a dark pink, opulent princess, staying in her castle and indulging herself in food and entertainment. Fleur de Sable is her wild, edgy sibling, running from the castle for bareback horse riding and sitting in the grass to watch sunset before coming back home. I don't get too much of the sand impression - maybe just the overall warmness added to the scent. I thought FB is redundant in my collection if I already have Rose 01 and some other rose fragrances, but I totally changed my mind after a few days of testing it.

Just received. It is beautiful absolutely lovely. The first hit I get is orange and paprika unusual and beautiful. Followed up by the peppers dries down to a lovely Orris I’m getting the sweet briar ( Eglantine Rose ) throughout. For those of you not smelling “ROSE” This type of rose is very fruity smelling. It’s very subtle but I’m smelling it while I’m smelling the orange. It is said to smell a little like apples but not exactly so that thing you’re smelling with the orange and you’re not quite sure what it is. That’s the Eglantine Rose. This is beautifully beautifully blended. It is my first LL fragrance and it’s a stunner. Unfortunately, for now, I think I have to bathe in it for others to smell it. I will update.
