This smells similar to Hyrax by Zoologist. It's not as strong as Hyrax and there is a floral violet or iris note that tries to peak out. Definitely fecal but great. I love it. Edit after wearing for 3 days: I just did a side by side comparison and while the first thing that came to my mind when I smelt Fleur Poudree de Musc the first time was Hyrax, when compared side by side they are very different. Hyrax has more woody, spicy notes and brings to mind an animal where as Fleur Poudree de Musc starts out with a blast of super strong Tuberose and then quickly (5-10 minutes) settles into a scent that is almost straight up fecal. The dry down literally smells like excrement dried on clothing. Absolutely filthy in all the right ways.

I do not agree with Coco76 because I wear jeans, I climb trees, dance, laugh and I'm often silly and ... I love this perfume! Was not a love at first sniff ... beginning I felt the smell of balsam for the laundry to the moss white ... and I felt cold and meaningless ... But gradually this scent made me fall in love ... became warm, feminine, smooth, intimate, sensual ... Reminds me of a woman with red lips and the wind that lifts her hair ... Strangely it is fresh and warm at the same time ... When I wear it, I continue to smell my skin ... ohhh! it is addictive! At work my colleagues dilate the nostrils and want to know what perfume is to buy it to their wives! :-)

Seriously, If my p**p smelt like this id be selling it too. Good sh*t. A must try for serious musk lovers, not for the faint of heart, not a safe blind buy. I think the negative reviews are funny and helpful because there is a truth to what they say, my friend smelt this and recoiled away like I was asking her to smell a skunks butt, but I thought it was great and had my nose right in there. lol. Update She dries down to a glorious smooth powdery musk, really beautiful, it's a shame the beginning is so hard for many to bear, I completely understand it's pungent at the beginning but I think this is actually a very good perfume that is not going to be popular but the ones that love her will see many layers to her unique beauty. It's a strong like for me.

Upon first sniff it smells like white dove bar soap. Then followed by dove soap and public restroom. Soap, urine, and of course the odor of just flushed poop in the air. After about ten minutes I get stale old lady white florals and mothballs and the smell of rank breath. After about an HOUR it is actually quite NICE. Lightly sweet musk, with a honey, nutty quality. It becomes very soft and clean. really like the dry down, I don't know if I would subject myself or others to the downright fecal opening to often. I have a small sample, and I may use it up. I will not purchase or wear when my husband is home! Beautiful dry down, too bad about the first hour. I can take a ten minute rank opening. Hour?! Nope.

This just reminds me where musk is really from...and why it should be diluted. Yes, a real poop-on-the-face scent bomb. Now I can see erotic nude gods chasing each other like in some Titans' old oil paintings.

I can't get past the poo smell.... I have a 100ml bottle sprayed a few times. Pm me if ur interested....

The name, the quaint bottle, the label (you really have to see the label.) It all tells you that this will be a powder-puff of a perfume designed for the sort of woman who tiptoes through her life as if La Sylphide and Giselle were living role models. The label even has a pair of symmetrical putti fluttering about carrying the name of the perfume on a banner you might find at the renaissance fair. Don’t let the preciousness fool you, the topnotes make the opening of Luten’s Muscs Kublai Khan seem like a fresh rose on a pillow. Have you ever undressed somebody after a long day of winter sport, all those layers amplifying the scent of skin that’s sweated then dried multiple times? Remember that scent, then imagine some powder on top. That’s Fleur Poudrée. Fleur Poudrée has all the sweet waxiness that the ‘skin musks’ have, but it also lays out a foul/powdery dichotomy that says proudly, “Embrace the unwholesomeness!” The flowers and musky berry-sweetness only serve to fill in the narrow middle between the boulder-like bookends of powder and funk. Fleur Poudrée captures utterly what I love about musk-based perfumes. It tells you we’re animals and we in fact want to sniff each other. But it also tells you that much of what we learn from infancy onward, starting with ritual cleansings/circumcision/initiation ceremonies, is to keep others at arm’s length. The ‘personal space’ bit actually just means you stink and I stink and if human stink bothers you, you’ll never actually find a solution. Fleur Poudrée exaggerates the carnal at the same time that it amplifies the classic defense against our own odor: powder. It’s the torrid disguised as the proper. Unless you’re in on the joke, Fleur Poudrée must be unsettling.

A top-loaded floral stinker somewhat akin to MKK but with an insanely scratchy, hive-inducing powder effect added. The musk is basically a wallop of civet paired with a rough-grained cedar-type note and some animalis type accords thrown in. I don’t find the musk to be nearly as lewd or suggestive (or good) as MKK as it comes off quite harsh to me. Then, after maybe 10 minutes or so, the powder kicks up in a huge way that’s more aggressive (and challenging) than the opening civet blast. What’s a bummer about this one is that it goes from 60 to zero in mere minutes, becoming a demure powder with only a whisper of musk remaining. It appears at first to be a hardcore civet bomb over what smells like hot geranium, but what remains past the first 10 minutes feels more like a cedar-framed Victorian still-life in a room where at least 50 bottles of Johnson’s baby powder were just shaken into the air. Brutal, but not in a good way.

A truly bizarre smell - I can quite see why it was discontinued. Extremely fecal. As other reviewers have said, this smells of baby poop and talc - it's exactly like you've entered a room where a stinky baby has just been changed and its parents have used a ton of talc to dry it off. Strangely addictive, but definitely one to wear at home alone until you get to the drydown, which is a drop-dead gorgeous floral talc smell like the breath of angels. Glad I've got it - not sure I can recommend it! Probably safe for company about two hours after application. I've tried layering it with other fragrances and it just disappears, oddly, given that it seems very powerful when you first apply it. I wear this at home when there's no-one to be bothered by me - I wear the original Miel de Bois in the same way.

at first application i immediately thought...old lady. i realize that is not completely fair, as not everyone likes fruity or gourmand scents and i myself did not take too kindly to someone on here calling chanel no5 such when that is my sister's signature scent and she is neither frumpy nor an 'old lady'. this does start off like french milled soap, and is not the kind of smell i like. this fragrance would be good for someone who likes their t-shirts ironed, and their cookies on plates. the kind of woman who would be horrified to wear jeans or to climb a tree. while this is definetly a mature scent, it is not necessarily 'old lady'...it is not for me.

HOLY MOLY BATMAN! If you ever thought you smelled musk in a western fragrance and you haven't tried Fleur Poudree De Musc, you're missing out. This makes all the other more popular muscs such as Muscs Koublai Khan, Kiehl's Musk, Musc Tonkin and the likes feel like little wusses. Mind me, I'm not saying this is necessarily better but surely more hardcore and more...fecal. Yeah, at this point I think you got it. It's an extremely natural animalic musc with just a tiny tad of powdery-floral patterns. That's it. I'm still not sure what to make of this but I'm giving it a good rating because, boy if it leaves an impression. Rating: 8/10

This definitely has indole in it. It’s indolic and dusty, dries down more powdery with the Musc and the indole fades. Maybe light florals at the dry down but no blatant tuberose at all, I’d say more rose like. I absolutely love this! I save spritzes for special moments of relaxation with a good book. It's contemplative and old fashioned. Ps: Les Nereides please bring this back!!!!

  • em inglês

Nice..., ok, I like it. A clean/dirty musky scent, warm & powdery. Lutens' Fleurs de Citronnier is a much better option though, IMO, as it has more depth and umpfh. (And nutmeg! And styrax! And neroli! And honey!) I'm not gonna buy. Still, for lovers of a good musk, a must try.

I am in love with this scent! I am so sad it’s discontinued. I must find at least 1 back up bottle. It smells like powdery skin. It is not decal- what is wrong with people?
