Ballerina No 3

These Ballerina perfumes are so gorgeous - in fact I love every one of the Les Perfumes de Rosine perfumes that I've tried. They're really lovely, and so are all the gorgeous bottles. I would dearly love to be able to have every single perfume of theirs (hers - Marie-Hélène's). And I love this one. It is 'the beautiful, black swan' of the three Ballerinas, as Shoppingdoll below me says. It is beautifully sensual and sultry. I have also grown to love it more and more, and find myself reaching for it also more and more. I so love the beautiful black black ballerina bottle, and look at it and handle it, just for the pure pleasure of it, as well as spraying it on myself often, for the exact same reason. It's a gloriously sexy rose, woody, powdery, sweet and balsamic delight, which lasts for about 16 hours if I leave it alone, but I can't help spraying more on every few hours, because I love it so much. I love the beginning, and have to give myself a fresh blast every now and then. And the development of the perfume, and the dry-down are superb. My husband adores it, even on himself! And I get compliments galore all the time from others. It is one of my very favourite perfumes of all time.

This is so seductive and sensual. It lasts for around 18 hours and has a woodsy, powdery, sweet, and balsamic joy. The major notes in the opening are a rich, chocolate-like patchouli and a red rose, but I also detect a lot of oud and black pepper in the top notes. I adore the opening. At that point, it has become rather bitter and herbal. But as it dries out, it takes on a more girly appearance. Darker notes recede into the background as the vanilla emerges and melds with the rose. The drydown is sweet and somewhat reminiscent of wine. It is a little enigmatic and has both sweet and feminine characteristics as well as dark and bitter ones. This scent is my favourite from the Ballerina range and I adore it. Fantastic evening scent!

SO SO beautiful! From start to drydown, this is intoxicating and addictive. This is the rose/oud combo I didn’t know I was searching for. The subtlest of spices, the whisper of freshness, the creamy warm base notes, the overall woodiness. Not a single screech from the oud here. An absolutely sophisticated fragrance with excellent longevity. Images of ballerinas conjure up women of younger age, and while rose/oud fragrances are usually so potent and more appropriate for bolder or older women, there’s a subtle powderiness to this that tones it down from bold to young but elegant at heart. In love with this one and can’t get enough! Black swan vibes for sure.

Oh man, I LOVE. This makes me feel grown and sexy while still expressing my love for rose. The woodiness is perfect. I got this as a gift from a beautiful Fragrantica friend. She sent me the discovery set and Bulle de Rose and THIS are my running favorites. Not to mention, this bottle perfectly matches my style; frilly but gothic. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to get a full bottle, but it would be a dream come true. This does remind me of a deeper and more sultry version of Narciso EDT (the black cube) which I also am a huge fan of. This just has a little something more that Narciso doesn’t. And I truly can’t get over the matte black bottle.

Ballerina No 3 changes quite a bit on my skin, I had to use my sample on four different days before I felt like I figured this fragrance out. The opening is very harsh to my nose and not exactly what I would imagine a beautiful ballerina to smell like. The main notes are a red rose and a deep, chocolate-like patchouli, but in the top, I also get lots of black pepper and oud. It‘s quite bitter and herbal at that point. But when it dries down, it becomes more girly. The vanilla shines through and blends in with the rose, the darker notes move to the background, but they don‘t vanish. The drydown is sweet and even a little wine-like. So in the end, the bottle‘s contrast between the cute tutu and the opaque coloring represents this fragrance quite well. It has sweet and feminine, but also dark and bitter facets to it, it‘s a little mysterious. I like this fragrance, at least the drydown is really pretty, but I don‘t love it. There are so many rose-patchouli fragrances and Ballerina No 3 is just not the perfect one for me. But I think I‘ll keep my sample, just in case.

Pink and purple, deep powdery with a dramatic start. In the beginning, the rose almost has a slight rosewater note (= fresh, greenish and should be the fuchsia), which I like a lot. Unfortunately, it changes rather soon into a soft, violet-dominated pink rose which I enjoy as well, just not as profoundly. About 4 hours after application I had to shower, which I why I cannot say anything about the final stage except for that there is a soft layer of powder still lingering on my skin afterwards. This fragrance is for the grown-up ballerina. Dark but sweet, poised but also somewhat conventional. Despite this not being me I find nothing wrong with this fragrance. If you want something slightly unique that is not too far out there give it a try.

This is such an underrated gem and I was not expecting to love this so much! We have oud and ambergris which is a killer combo for me. Dry down gets perfectly balanced with sweetness, florals and woods with that eye-roll inducing twist of ambergris bringing out the complexity of the oud. Even though it seems complex it comes off as a lovely signature scent.

At first spray, this reminded me of Thameen's Peregrina. Very heavy rose forward with a metallic richness of blood in the background. When this scent settles down the oud really takes over the rose and I get Oud Satin Mood. It's really enjoyable, but the market feels a little bit oversaturated with rose oud scents to make this one unique.

I love this fragrance, it is my favourite of the ballerina line (which in fact I all like). It is so feminine and lovely. I don’t relate to the black bottle at all, I smell nothing dark in it, just prettiness and sweetness. They all fade too fast though, maybe it is a ballerina thing being fragile and all.

Rose and wood, nice for cold days. It is a woody floral fragrance. Elegant, bold and deep. A black swan...

A complex, sweet Rose scent with zero Oud and ambergris—only a little after burn chemical smell that I sometimes pick up with synthetic Oud. The opening is rough, but everything smooths out in the dry down. I do pick up patchouli, vanilla and Cashmeran in the middle and base. This is a deep scent with average performance oomph due to some of the off-putting, synthetic notes. I’m neutral about No. 3 because, personally, I don’t think this is how I imagine ballerinas to smell.

I sprayed and smelled Ballerina No4 before looking at the notes. I couldn't really pick anything distinct out but I liked it and of course ...it has oud and vanilla in the blend. The oud is very friendly and clean. The fragrance heady, deep and a touch smokey. The base is powdery and I can pick out a distinct cashmeran cosiness. This reminds of me of Azzaro pour elle extreme but much more sheer and wearable. I like it. FB? not for me. -

Le danseur de ballet en tutu noir. When wonderful early accords of slightly peppered roses subside, a dark, deep, animalistic and rather masculine oud-y side takes dominance. Swans on the lake by day, humans by night! Black swan Odile is in fact Odil, an object of conflicted and secret desire of Siegfried (and Tchaikovsky). No 3, the Black Swan perfume, would be great on a man dressed in black.

A lush rose with a slightly piney green background. Out of rose ouds, if Armani Rose d'Arabie would be the base line, this would be on less oudy, less dry, more moist and fruity. There is just so much oud to remind of trees and resins but very little of that sharp smell that I associate with oud. A very pleasant fragrance overall if you like rose. Lasting power is not great, 4-5hrs.

This has really become my favorite fragrance over the past few months since I got it. It is the beautiful, black swan of the three ballerina fragrances. I love and wear all three. Their personalities are all so different. This is by far the sexiest and sultriest. I like to circulate my fragrances but this one I always am reaching for. My style is edgy yet I still like pretty things and this goes well with everything in my wardrobe... it's not just for certain moods. The quality is excellent- sillage and projection. The bottle really makes me happy when I look at it. You have to smile at the tutu. All three ballerina fragrances are pure class and elegance. Loving this line.

A deep, ambery, woody rose, Ballerina #3 is a 'I've been around but I'm still fabulous' type of fragrance. The rose note is deep, jammy, and beautiful, with plenty of pepper to spice it up, but it's still very sexy. The base with all the woods and ambergris is perfectly blended and very nice, making the scent last for many hours with excellent sillage. Ballerina #3 lasts overnight on me as a skin scent. While it does have some oud in the base, the oud note is so well blended it exists only to give the woodiness of the base a depth that is a perfect balance for the strong rose and spice notes. It's a very Occidental and very French take on oud.

Absolutely nothing to compare with "Valentina Rosa assoluto" which is deep and rich, without powder. This Ballerina 3 is just powdered oud and patchouli; I don't even get the rose, until very late in the dry down. Where is the rose? The perfume is gone within an hour, without any trace...Disappointing.
