Glam Rose

Violet pastilles and freshly mown grass after rain. There's an impression of rose-red or white-red tea roses and rose leaves underneath as well. I don't get any leather. It's not a very strong perfume, it comes out in sweet-sour wafts throughout the day. It feels clean and freshly powdery.

One of the most gorgeous lipstick rose scents which I have smelled. So natural as this kind of combination of notes can be yet utterly lipsticky in a vintage way. Beautifully blended Roses, Violets and Raspberry with peppers and Blackcurrant leaves in the opening, a hint of Ambrette, Lychee and Jasmine in musky, woody bed, and a suede like whiffs here and there in the drydown. I was waiting to find more interpretations for this scent category. I like "Lipstick Rose | Frédéric Malle" but occasionally find it a bit too heavy, a bit too vaxy and kind of plasticy. I love a lot "Misia edp | Chanel" but find it sometimes too subtle. This is somewhat in the middle. This is glamorous, classy and not overly sweet nor candy like. It’s not headache inducing like Lipstick Rose is sometimes. The opening is quite potent but the scent settles down into a very pleasant experience. The scent is very feminine but not in a girly way, it’s just because of that amazing vintage touch in it. Yet, I think it would be gorgeous on men with style. I want to wear my rockabilly dress with a huge tulle petticoat and I want to tattoo one more pin up girl on my leg. They have this in parfum concentration as well. I need it. Even if I respect and love this “lipstick scent” category I find it difficult to wear sometimes. Sometimes violet note is too much, sometimes I adore it. I think my all time favorite scent with distinct Violet note is "Amour | Pierre de Velay" but that complex luxurious scent is another story. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. The violet candy note is spot on. I overall get violet and raspberry, with a bit of rose backing it up. Not one of Rosine's best, very straightforward and not in the "undeniably pleasant" way. Too sticky sweet for me.

I tested almost all Rosine scents since someone recommended them as good rose scents. To me this is not the kind of rose scent I would want. They all had something heavy powdery and old-fashioned to them. It's like the Rosine line is only for elderly ladies or ages behind time. I couldn't find one modern or crisp rose. It all seemed to go into heavy, powdery, oriental notes with a rose attached somehow. To me they only differed in slight nuances, but I couldn't really say that e.g. Glam Rose has got so much difference from e.g. Twill Rose.

trying to determine what puts me off here... it's not a scrubber per sé but just too high pitched (sickly) sweet fragrance.. is it the musk enhancing everything, is it the violets .. don't know! Unfortunately this seems quite a linear fragrance to me, so the drydown isn't much better either.

Very sweet fruity rose. Dries down to powdery rose. I got hardly any violet. Very much bubble bath. I feel that La Rose de Rosine is far superior in the rose + violet category.

Glam rose opens with a blast of sweet violets and berries, backed by a pink rose. Right from the start it screams femininity - that of an ambitious young lady who knows how to get the job done, but also knows how to let her hair down and live it up. To my nose, there's even something almost nutty about it even though that doesn't fit any of the listed notes. I'm not sure where that's from. Very quickly, suede pops up on me in the background and helps to tone down the sweetness a little. It becomes a little powdery with more violets and lychee with some jasmine. Rose is still just a backing note here. As it fades away, it becomes a bit deeper and slightly woody. The sweetness is barely noticeable as the musk makes it a skin scent. I suppose one would consider violets and rose an old-fashioned combo, but I don't think Glam Rose was old-fashioned at all. It wasn't as glamourous as I hoped it would be, but it's definitely a vibrant fume. It's light and joyful and just all-around a very easy fragrance to wear. Sillage wasn't anything to shout about, with pretty poor lasting power on me (around 2 hours in total).

Really pretty sweetie-like Violet note and I mean like those old fashioned sweets from years ago and berries with a soft light suede note. Nice for summer glad it's light and not too heavy this would just start to jarre a little otherwise. I'm glad I had a 2ml tester as when I first smelt it I thought wow but after now having tried it for a couple of days I'm taking it off it's too high pitched for continued comfort level wearing. I keep wanting to turn the volume down it's akin to hearing an annoying pop song that you love at first then when you hear it over and over you start to hate it!! I would wear this but only now and again mainly on warm summer days outdoors it somehow becomes a little more muted that way and a soft breeze makes it once again rather likeable. Sillage and Longevity is fair.

This one is interesting. To me, it seems old fashioned - violets, roses, berries, suede - yet at the moment, this is a very popular and fashionable combination, hence the Rosine's marketing of it as glamorous, rock'n roll etc. If Estee Lauder brought out exactly the same fragrance, most people would be screaming about old lady face powder. etc.
