Rose Griotte

Rose Griotte is a beautiful cherry blossom fragrance, the closest perfume to real cherry blossoms as I have ever smelled. It's soft and sheer like a gossamer veil, the way cherry blossoms should be! It's silky smooth, delicately sweet, fresh and clean. The longer it's on my skin, the smoother it becomes. I like it more and more as it dries down. I have peonies in my garden, and they smell almost identical to roses. Can't say that I smell either rose or peony here, but that's OK because I wanted cherry blossoms, And I got them! There have been so many cherry blossom fragrances on the market that have never smelled like the real thing. I bought one from Guerlain about 20 years ago that came in such a pretty little bottle, but it did not resemble the scent of cherry blossoms whatsoever. Even Guerlain's master perfumers couldn't get it right. Over the years there have been many other attempts, like from Bath & Body, but they could never hit the Mark either. Kudos to the nose!! This is a masterpiece cherry blossom perfume. Finally someone got it right!

Rose Griolle is a pretty cherry blossom and peony perfume. Apricot nuances from osmanthus come through as well. This is a shampoo scent, and I usually don't like those but here it works and doesn't smell boring while still remaining very mainstream and in the now. This perfume has a very transparent feeling and smell. Watery but not aquatic (I dislike aquatics) It is more like air than water. Like a veil of fragrance that is gossamer thin w/ a delicate beauty. You get all of the florals listed above but not the smell of them right against the nose, it is the smell of them in the air as you walk in a garden. I really appreciate that they used white cedar here which is the best type of cedar in my opinion because it is clean and ethereal. Strong Virginia Cedar or other strong cedars work best in unisex or male fragrances. If you want something that has a transparent feeling, that is truly like the air in a beautiful garden or orchard Rose Griolle is something to check out.

This is very pretty and comes closer to "cherry blossom" than any other I've tried. The top notes of tangerine and pear really pop, like a burst of fresh juice, without being too sweet or sugary. Thank goodness, no artificial "cherry" fruit scent -- cherry BLOSSOM doesn't smell like cherry candy! Of the floral notes, the ones I smell most is a soft peony, which is fitting since real cherry blossoms remind me of the scent of real peonies. It probably leans more feminine than masculine, but either gender could wear it. It doesn't smell synthetic or overly chemical, though of course, it contains synthetics. It isn't rose-dominant, but I do grow real roses that smell like this -- i.e., like cherry blossom, but concentrated. This is a very lovely, spring/summer floral, which would be easy to wear in a work setting.

Fresh and clean, it is a perfume balancing cherry blossom delicate smell, acidulous cherry fruit taste and rose notes. Versatile, office compatible, can be a signature scent (maybe more appropriate for spring and summer). Delicate and feminine, timeless. 8/10

The juicy tangerine and pear opening is quickly followed by the less remarkable floral dry down. Peony can overpower and I’m wishing it was turned down a notch. Rose Griotte is a safe, natural mainstream style scent suitable for spring and mild temps.
