Rose Nue

Really musky, aldehydic, with suede and rose. The rose is not obvious, as in potpourri, but gives the composition a perfumey floral scent. Rose Nue is dominated by aldehydes and suede, which serve to amplify the muskiness of the scent. It smells clean in a naughty way, like the warm and damp skin of a sexy lady who's just got done bathing with fancy soap. This is what I thought Agent Provocateur's Maitresse would smell like, based on all the reviews on that page. I feel drawn to wear it before bed most nights. I don't smell the ambroxan the previous reviews mentioned.

This is my reset fragrance. I spray it on when I am sick of all my other perfumes and I just want to relax. It is a pale, powdery, woody rose. The structure is very similar to Hermes Caleche minus the sweetness. A man could wear this easily but I think the esthetic is not appealing to that market. Rose Nue is so calming that I never wear it in the morning. Lasting power is good.

I was looking for something that was equal parts a soapy clean scent and equal parts a musky, slightly dirty skin scent, and I've found it. I tried Missing Person, Glossier You, a ton of middle eastern fragrances, but nothing came closer to that exact description. Another reviewer called it 'damp skin' and it describes this scent perfectly. Projection isn't the best but you expect that with this kind of fragrances. Decent longevity. Overall a very inoffensive, easy reach fragrance I can see myself wearing to work or outdoors on nice spring/summer days.

The opening— a musky bold rose carrying a suede handbag—is memorable and lovely. The powder notes mixed in with musk go too much in a generic direction in the dry down. Surprisingly the aldehydes did not bother me, most notable in the beginning. Overall I like it but wished for that opening to turn linear on me.

My most complimented fragrance. It leaves a beautiful scent trail. It's great anytime.

Love at first sniff, or so I thought. A lovely musky rose, a velvety suede note, and a soft, dusty powder smells retro, as if they took a vintage powdery rose fragrance but modernized it for today's consumption. Something that should please lovers of both vintage and modern fragrances alike. Good silage and projection at first that leaves a very pretty trail in its wake. I was really loving this until the Ambroxan showed up and took over the scent. Then that became the only thing I could smell. I know Ambroxan it is supposed to imitate ambergris or woody notes, but it doesn't to me. It just smells like a weird chemical note. What a letdown!

Opens with aldehydes followed by musk. Mid and Base are powdery, silky musk. Powdery without going to baby or face powder...kind of like the powder used for keeping your hands dry while bouldering. Overall I would say this is a nice, light, friendly powdery musk fragrance. As mentioned below, very reminiscent of ballet silks and tights. The fragrance smells natural and ethereal. -

I get spicy woody rose. Not a scent profile I enjoy.

Beautiful creamy soft Rose, with a base of smooth suede that dries down to Ambroxan. It’s lovely, but as with a lot of these Ambroxan based perfumes, that is the note that completely takes over. It is so promising in the opening, I really do pick up notes of Violet, Rose and Heliotrope, it’s airy creamy cool then settles to smooth ambroxan, suede & musk. Very easy to wear, crowd pleasing scent.

Strong leathery, almost rubbery alcohol opening, but mellows out, quite suede, musky, powdery and sweet, fairly light, not getting much rose. Leathery / rubbery aspects linger throughout. Official sample available UK along with 175 other samples to swap - check my customs, get in touch!
