Vanille Violette

On and off I’ve tried to find a substitute for the discontinued fragrance from heaven: Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum — the satin spray. And it had been a long and arduous search since FBKLP was discontinued back in 2003/2004. I am thrilled to report that I’ve finally found it! Vanille Violette by LSG is definitely the closest scent to FBKLP, and let me tell you: it is VERY close. Vanilla Violette is violet heaven and powdery enough to take you on a fairy-tale journey without being overbearing or headache-inducing. I’m enjoying every minute of its youthful, and yet mature and sophisticated aura.

If God created a powdery perfume, it would be this. Vanille Violette is the ultimate violet, powdery, vanilla scent. Liquid candied violets, in fact. Probably one of the most feminine perfumes I have ever smelled. I had a very hard time finding this one, as it is discontinued, I believe. I'm in the US; I had to buy this from an Australian website. Damn worth the high shipping cost, in my opinion, just to obtain this treasure.

This is so delicious! Creamy sweet powdery notes and the violet! It's DNA is the same as Hanae Mori by Hanae Mori with a big dose of violets! I love it since I love Hanna Mori! It projects well and I will update on longevity so far it's a love at first sniff!

It was meh when I first bought it, so I just let it sit unused in my collection. 2 years later it is the most amazing violet and vanilla - absolute love!

Just why!? I think they discontinued this beautiful little gem. I can’t find it anywhere anymore. Not even on the official website. That’s a shame.

For the first 2 hours I kind of hate it. The violet is plastic and doll-like. The vanilla smells like babies (Tonka does that on my skin) but after a while it changed to something unexpected. For the next 10 hours I kept sniffing my wrist trying to identify what I was smelling. It was musky, kind of spicy and intoxicating. I'm still not sure what it was. Nothing implied in the listed notes but it was amazing and impressive.

I’ve been trying to find a dupe for my discontinued scent Bvlgari Femme. I thought; Violet and vanilla! That must be it. It’s not really. The Violet is a little too prominent which makes it a heavy scent. It would’ve been nice if it had some fruity fresh citrus counterparts but it hasn’t. I’m not super impressed by it but I do occasionally wear it. Its not bad. It lasts long on me but most perfumes do. Edit: it’s a flowery headache to me. Stays very heavy and a bit old lady like. Very unfortunate. I am trying to find a way to tweak it to make it more light. Again. The gourmandes line does this thing where the notes blend together too much. So it’s neither violet nor vanilla. It’s a bad mix. Still not recommending.

I have been looking for a violet-dominant perfume that is accented by vanilla, but Vanille Violette is the opposite. The vanilla is so overpowering that I can hardly interpret the violet at all. It is a true gourmand and way too heavy and sweet for me.

This whole range of perfumes in the vanilla line of Laurence Dumont (or same house of Les Senteurs Gourmandise) are GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY and safe blind buys. At worst, and I doubt you'll be disappointed, it won't cost the earth. I have the violet vanille and it's fantastic. Buying a third bottle from the line now, Tendre Madeline and the vanille chocolat! (Or vanille bourbon) 3 new perfumes for under $50 collectively! Who wouldn't love that? (I usually pay $150 - $400 per bottle of top shelf brands.) This is lovely although low in price. Doesn't smell cheap! I'm loving this fragrance! Reminds me a lot of Insolence by Guerlain so I can 100% guarantee that if you like insolence and sweet perfumes, you'll be pleased with your purchase. And it's just as lovely, minus the pretty bottle and large price tag. All in all, I'm very pleased with my VV.

Just a thought....... If you purchased the whole line of Les Senteurs gourmandes perfumes, ( I think there's about 8, so if you buy from eBay, you'd only pay $120 which is the average price per bottle of a chemist line (drug store as Americans say) perfume! And you'd have almost a litre of perfume! Wow!

A simple,clean,powdery and nice. I would give to any girl as a first parfume in her life. I consider it would be a nice begining instead of celebrity ones that are so common nowadays. I do not know how others,but for me it reminds me soft version of Kenzo Flower.

I'm getting baby oil vanilla accented with a candy violet. This. Would normally be a dealbreaker but afyer it settles it is surprising reminiscent of strawberry sgortcake doll skin, whichbI could see wanting to play with in the future

It's such a Beautiful Violet, not too subtle. I absolutely adore it. It's powdery and a Little sweet. Like violet candy. Love it!
