Bonne Fortune

There was a beautiful, delicate, citrus woody fragrance called Signoricci for men by Nina Ricci in the 90s. It was a modernised version of the previous Signoricci from 1970s. It is one of my most favorite citrus fragrances for its delicacy and traditional gentleman elegance. It was stopped of production somewhere around 2000. I still keep a few bottles just to remember my favorite fragrance. I have smelled so many citrus fragrances but I couldn, t find a substitute for Signoricci. And all of a sudden I found a sample of Bonne Fortune. I liked the bottle with that golden touch and the box is very French, too, like an entrance to a beautiful Parisian building. When I smelled the fragrance I liked the good quality citrus openning. But after half an hour, wow, I realised that after 20 years I found a new Signoricci. With even better quality of the ingredients. It has this special combination of soft citrus on a woody and slightly sweet and resinous base. Then I read that it is also a reincarnation of a classic fragrance for men even before Signoricci. In fact both of them are traditional French elegant perfumes for men. That, s what I like. And I ordered a bottle on the French site of Lesquendieu. And I, m very satisfied. As another example of this style I would mention Boucheron pour Homme. Although heavily reformulated compared to it, s original formula from the 90s, which was gorgeous, it is still a beautiful perfume in a beautiful bottle, especially in its eau de parfum version. A pretty citrus fragrance. I DO like it, but I prefer Louis Vuitton Imagination / Marwa by Arabyat Prestige / Art of Arabia from Lattafa. They have something more minty in them, and more tea - they're just overall more complex. The mixture of this and those is absolutely gorgeous though - if you have them, you MUST try layering them!! Or just put both on, but on different body parts - the smell is a really complex fresh smell ❤️ The strange thing is: together, they get some kind of a fresh rose smell too, but none of these have rose listed - it literally smells rose only where they overlap...!

Very nice citrus, but longevity just isn't there. 2 hours of smelling very nice and then gone... such a shame. Smell: 7.6/10 Longevity: 2.3/10 Overall: 5.5/10

Typical citrus fresh blend with ginger, traces of mint & fair doses of cedar. I have realized a theory that few niche companies follows like "Affinessence", "Onyrico", "Clive Christian", "Maison Nicolas de Barry", and "J. Lesquendieu", they always tend to create classical blends for everyone which mostly referred to "Common Blends" & they believe in: "if i used the finest ingredients to blend my fragrances then they will be different and will stood out" I believe following the above proves that they are afraid to take a risky path, and being afraid to flop. By doing this, they will always remain in their safe-zone and won't grow big like for instance "Alessandro Gualtier", & "Stephane Humbert Lucas" who created the world's revolution blends "Black Afgano" & "Nur" respectively, the ones who raised the roof of niche perfumes and made all other brands including commercials follows their footsteps (mostly imitate). By sensing their potential throughout their blends, the above mentioned brands aren't seeking wealth or chasing fame although i believe THEY SHOULD moderately cause the more money you have the better creation and better services you will offer IFF (IF & ONLY IF) you are an artist like the above mentioned brands and not a money digger like few other brands who claims to be niche. The competition is getting bigger day after day & if they will remain on the same leverage as they are now in creating bland creations they will eventually require to close their business for good cause nothing remains the same, it's either going forward or going backwards, & If you are doing the same thing you did 5 years ago then you will fail terribly, so put "Konica" company within your sight to understand the whole picture. It is hard to decide on taking risky paths but that is the only way if you wanna grow, even commercial brands are taking that detour in their companies by creating the "Private Collections". So i hope they will take this into their consideration.

I have had my hands on this fragrance all summer long and LOVED it. It is the kind of evolutive fragrance that allows you to wear throughout the day. The freshness brought by the bergamot and mint contrast beautifully with the woody base notes making this fragrance something you want to splash on in the morning and but also shows a complex character for the evening. The ginger not too present brings a sort of spicy touch to the creation making it stand out of the "fresh citrusy" crowd of fragrances on the market. To me, this fragrance screams summer vibes but as the tonka bean and cedar develop and mix perfectly well after a few hours, I could definitely had this to my winter collection as well. Plus, love the new 24 karat gold design bottles.
