Wild Rosinda

I instantly thought of the splendid, and lamentably discontinued Aramis Calligraphy Rose, albeit far woodier than ambery, followed by Diptyque's Eau Capitale, a sweet and unctuous rose-patchouli. There is little in way of subtlety in comparison to both of these—it is inferior. It just feels somewhat focus-group driven in the attempt to be a commercially viable and accessible every person's rose. Not too green, definitely sweet; convincing enough but not so realistic as to alienate the cohort of perfume buyer's who incredulously scoff at anything that falls out of the current "uncanny valley" tenor of the modern perfume market. It grows so jammy and confectionary that its a real hoot that there the notes pyramid suggests ivy leaves. The cassis base does some heavy lifting and then it eventually just whittles down to a tiresome patchouli "light" coupled with ambrox ennui. The Liberty bottles do have their charm, but I had a feeling that none of these would have me floored. Granted, this is the only one I've sampled as of writing this, but even if one potentially pleases me, there is no way on this holy Earth that I'd be spending the kind of cash this aspirational "aesthetic" line is asking for to own their wares.

Sorry folks, I don't love this one. It's OK, but there is something in the heavy woody rose combo that just overpowers the entire thing on me within the first five minutes. I'm suspecting it is more skin chemistry than anything else, so I haven't marked down, but I definitely advise you test this one on your own skin before committing to full bottle - it is no safe blind buy!

The blackcurrant and the ivy zing in the beginning, the ivy especially bringing a slightly disconcerting element. I like fragrances which are attention grabbing and stimulating, and the initial phase does offer something unexpected. Later it settles down into a warm bubblebath scent but still with some woody complexity. My feelings about this aren't profound but I do keep coming back to it and every time I wear it I like it more.

I have a sample of this and wore it today for the first time, to my nose it really smells sweet, jammy and caramelly with some grounding wood, I just have been getting wiffs of sweetness all day, in the best way. Feels pretty feminine and flirty to me. Liking it more and more as the day goes on. I am on hour 7 now and can still smell it pretty well
