Moon Shadow

This is some heavily indolic, natural smelling jasmine. I get way more indoles here than I do in Lush Lust, which is tempered by sweet vanilla and sandalwood. In Moon Shadow, the indoles radiate from the nozzle of the bottle before the fragrance is even sprayed. Based on my short testing, I really enjoy this potent dirty captivating natural jasmine. If you wish Lust was less vanilla-sweet, definitely give Moon Shadow a try. An unfortunately overlooked and underrated intensely floral beauty.

This is beautiful. All three notes are strong, and present together from the start. The jasmine is sultry and heavy, like jasmine absolute essential oil, not bright or sharp like the fresh blossoms or jasmine tea. This reminds me of the intoxicating scent of pink magnolia trees in the spring.

I can't believe I like this! Two of my trouble notes, waterlily and lotus, yet I am getting not even a hint of the peculiar pumpkin edge I usually find in anything 'water'. The only note I can identify is jasmine, but it is tempered into something rich and mysterious with just a soft hint of powder.

I purchased a perfume crème, and the scent has not held up. As a matter of fact, I think it might have disintegrated over time as I cannot smell anything, not even faintly. If you want to try this fragrance I suggest you get the liquid perfume form as it is clear from my experience that this fragrance in crème form degrades over time. This is very disappointing as I was really looking forward to trying it as I have this brand's other fragrance, Arboretum, in liquid form and love it. Oh well, my first foray into crème perfumes and it will probably be my last. I'm so glad I learned now not to waste money on this type of fragrance in the future.

I really really wanted to love this perfume. I am a huge fan of lotus. The smell from the first spray all the way to the dry-down smells like plastic and over-powering, powdery flowers. I felt like I had walked into a funeral home.
