True Vanilla

I begin with acknowledging that I love the name of this fragrance line. Library of flowers brings to mind all the wonderful scent possibilities available from flowers. True Vanilla is such a pleasure to wear!I cannot stop sniffing my wrist. A new love for me! I purchased this as part of a charming trio from this line and am in love with this scent. I do get a bit of the citrus which I think brings along the vanilla and amber uniquely. To my nose amber smell slightly of smoke and for some reason this excited me greatly! Possibly reminds me of a hunky ex boyfriend that I was wild about when smoking was permitted everywhere. Vanilla and the smoky lips of my hunky hot guy. Ah sweet youth! The staying power is about 2 hours on my skin and I wish it was more. No worry, since I am enjoying all 120 minutes of it while it lasts.

One of my favorite things about the Library of Flowers line is that what you see in the ingredients is exactly what you'll smell. I initially get the bergamot top note (which honestly made me almost not buy this...I avoid most citrus perfumes like the plague), but it evolves into a nice, oddly cool refreshing vanilla with the cozy, warm undertone of amber that gives it a more mature feeling and more depth. Not a big throw, but put enough on and it'll last a decent amount of hours; I work part-time and this lasted my entire shift plus a little extra. An unexpected favorite.

A beautiful light, warm vanilla scent. If you want to smell like vanilla frosting without smelling like bath and bodyworks or a vs body mist this is the one for you. Bergamot balances with sweet vanilla and deep amber notes extremely well to create a truly unique scent experience with one of the most well known scents(vanilla). I would also say because of its simplicity and sweetness this would be a great scent for a young person who doesn't want to smell too sophisticated and grown up. My 13 year old cousin LOVES this scent. Overall I have nothing bad to say about it.

My friend I were searching for a *vanilla only* perfume and we found this one and absolutely LOVE it! It's PURE vanilla scent to me, and I don't get any amber notes or bergamot at all. Scent is 5/5, longevity is 3/5, it just doesn't last! Sillage disappears quickly. I would have to spray this 3 times throughout the day, but that's okay. It will stay in my top rotation of perfumes until I can find something that smells the same that lasts longer. This would make a wonderful layering perfume. All in all, I love it and recommend to all vanilla lovers!

Get the Parfum Crema version,not the spray, it's warmer, smells better, and lasts longer. It's also cheaper. Sillage and longevity on the spray are eh at best, the crema is a whole other ball game. Low sugar quotient, this is not like a cupcake or cotton candy. When vanilla is mixed well with bergamot, it smells a lot like vanilla black tea bordering on tobacco, and this definitely has that element. It's almost like a combination of SDV and Morn to Dusk, and what's the matter with that? Nothing.

This is a beautiful, easy vanilla. Perfect for layering or by itself. Not cheap smelling, not too cloying. Warm, sweet, creamy, round vanilla. Lasts eternally on clothes. A favorite I will definitely buy again if it ever runs out, you only need two sprays.

One of many gifts I was gifted today! ღ I would not call this a deep & dark vanilla like the reviewers below me did... on my skin it's more like an exotic vanilla with the refreshing aspect of bergamot shining through... Cute fragrance!! ♥♥♥♥♥

To me this smells less like vanilla extract and more like the scent of a vanilla bean when you slice it open. It doesn't have the alcohol scent of an extract but it does smell very earthy, almost boozy without the actual booze. I'm a big fan.

Gonna agree with Tessa03, when I first smelled this my mind went straight to vanilla woods. I love this scent, the notes go so well together and I could see this being worn in cold or warm weather. The only downfall is it's longevity.

Sweetest vanilla I have ever smelled in a perfume. This is amazing and quite unisex to my nose.

It has a bright powdery opening, and the vanilla is there but it is light. It stays like that for the first hour then the vanilla shines some more. There’s not too much to it, it’s a light powdery vanilla with some undertones of citrus. Reminds me a lot of VS Tease Crème Cloud, they aren’t dupes but they smell really similar to me and few of my family members. Another perfume it give me the same vibes of is Clean Radiant Nectar, I think it’s the powdery citrus scent from this and the fruity musk from that, that reminds me of each other.

this scent is nostalgic for me. my parents gifted me this for christmas when i was a highschool girl. it's not overly strong, nor is it a complex scent. it is powdery at the start with a very soft vanilla scent that lasts just a few hours on the skin. this will last longer on clothing. to me, this smells like the world before everything got too complicated. it's a perfect perfume for a young woman coming into herself past the bath and bodyworks years. the bottle is beautiful, too.

This may be the best vanilla I've smelled. It's rich and dark, and makes me think of creme brulee, vanilla coffee, and burnt sugar. No bergamot came through on my skin or on paper. This faded to a subtle warm sweetness by the 6 hour mark, but lasted all day. I won't buy a full bottle, but I'll continue to enjoy my sample on those cold days when you just curl up in some blankets with a good book. It's very warm and comforting.

This is a linear deep vanilla. Plain and straight forward but very nice. It is not a fresh, airy vanilla. The citrus and amber seem to ground it giving it a warmth and teeny bit of richness. This stays close to the skin and is a great vanilla if this is your type of fragrance. Price point is good and does not smell synthetic. It does not give off a huge amount of sillage and lasted about 4 hours on my skin. B rating for me.

I loved the bubble bath version of this scent and decided to try the perfume. It smells exactly like it. To me this is a very strong/sweet vanilla perfume. On it's own I think it's too much, but it's great for layering. If you're looking for a straight forward vanilla perfume or want to add more sweetness and vanilla to your fragrance, I'd recommend it Idk if this matters, but I bought this years ago and it's batch # HW-007

I guess everyone seems to get a little something different from this. I get an almost summer vanilla. It's linear and would work for layering although I haven't tried that.

This has the exact same “sweet tobacco” leaning vanilla/amber accord that I sensed in Swiss Arabian Casablanca but less overpowering (I had to sell Casablanca, was just too much for me) and minus the fruitiness which I normally don’t like in fragrances anyway. So far this is better than Casablanca for me, but I would not call this “True Vanilla” by any means, it does not make me think of vanilla extract and actually smells pretty synthetic. I will have to experiment with layering, especially with Mon Guerlain like the tip below. Maybe I will enjoy it for layering when I am in a specific mood for a vanilla tobacco edge.

I like it for layering. On its own it's just vanilla to my nose, might as well get a body spray with the same success. Syrupy vanilla maybe. The bottle is nice and worth showing on your dresser, which might interest some but I couldn't care less. It does, however, augment some of my other perfumes that lack longevity and gives them a stepping stone. Yes, this is a foundation kind of perfume. Then, you build your house on top of it with more interesting notes. I've found it works great with Mon Guerlain and gives the latter some longevity.

I have never been a huge fan of vanilla scents, but recently started finding myself loving them on other people. I've picked up a few and this was my least favorite. It's very linear and smells too much like baking vanilla. Essentially it smells like vanilla extract without the alcohol hit. While I can't say it smells bad, it's just incredibly lackluster. If you do like the sound of that, just know that the longevity is non-existent as well. It's essentially a skin-scent in under an hour on me. I gave this to my teenager and she's been using it as a room spray so it won't go to waste but it's definitely not something I would spend money on again.

True Vanilla? I don't think so. I dabbed this one about half an hour ago, and (thankfully), it seems to have wafted away completely. When I first put this on, I smelled something quite medicinal and musty- Herbal Vanilla would probably be a more appropriate name for this one. I'm really glad I didn't get a larger decant and opted for a 1mL sample instead!

I like all the notes in this separately, but somehow it just felt off to me? I can't pinpoint what and it might just not be working well with my skin chemistry because a friend really liked it.

This perfume is absolutely beautiful! Every person that smells this on me wants to know how/where to purchase it. I have been lucky to find it at Khol's regularly. The price is fair. It's only a small bottle, but that is all you need. I was first gifted this at Christmas time by my sister and it was an instant love. It smells like vanilla that has a soft quiet fresh scent in the background (bergamot). It keeps it from being cloying or overly syrupy. There is nothing syrup like to this actually. It reminds me a little of a Madagascan Vanilla scent The Body Shop used to produce. If you love vanilla with a fresh quality, you will love this. I love it best in the winter. It doesn't warm you but it makes you feel beautiful and heavenly scented.

This is mostly vanilla and amber, there is a hint of something fruity. The vanilla is a gourmand realistic vanilla extract type scent but a bit deeper/lower toned than actual vanilla extract you'd use for baking. Pleasant but not very special. Lasts no more than 4 or 5 hours and wears close to the skin (minimal sillage.) (Dec 2016) Edit: I've worn this the last couple days in a row and the longevity has been pretty decent for the office. Projection is minimal but I've been getting 5+ hours. Maybe I was going nose blind to this the first time around? Really pretty vanilla amber. Loving it right now. Works for day or night. The shower gel in this scent is one of my favorites. (Oct. 2017)

I like Gourmand fragrances and this is a nice one, reminding me of Montale's Intense Cafe. Although no coffee is listed, they do share some ingredients and I get a strong sense of coffee/cafe with this. This lasts for hours on my skin. If you like any of the Loukhoum scents, Sweet Oriental Dream, Prada Candy or Intense Cafe I would suggest trying this.It's also a nice price.

This kind of reminds me of a softer, more powdery version of Vanilla Woods. When I first sprayed this my mind went straight to Vanilla Woods, like a whisper of it. Super soft and quiet but also very pretty, comforting and soothing. I can’t see anyone not liking this. Due to lack of performance, I mostly use this at home when chilling out.

I nabbed a shower gel of this, which I realize is not the same as sampling the fragrance. It is a woody cake-y vanilla to me, and I will buy a bottle if I see a nice deal. I am really after the Forget Me Not. I do not detect the citrus.

Warm, cozy, sweet, delicate. Like a more natural Vanilla Body Fantasies—the original beautiful formula. This will be front & center on my dresser as a new Go-To favorite!
