Wildflower & Fern

Cucumbers, melons, honeysuckle flowers, wet grass... Wildflower and Fern is so pretty, (but I admit it smells a lot like the many "cucumber-melon" skincare products out there. This is a nice refreshing scent for a hot day, and I like it a lot. But I won't be splurging on a full bottle, when some of the other Library of Flowers scents are much more interesting, and I could possibly get the same effect with a Bath & Bodyworks handcreme.

Another LoF scent that make me nostalgic. This one reminds me of my childhood in the suburbs. Wildflower and Fern smells of clean laundry and vegetable garden. It make me remember the seemingly interminable days in the summer and then after having been outside all day, getting ready for bed, putting on pajamas smelling fresh from the clothesline, all the windows opened bringing inside the millions smells of a summer night. Unfortunately discontinued.

Brings to mind oxalis stricta AKA common yellow woodsorrel AKA lemon clover AKA pee weed. It doesn't smell like it per se, just makes me think of it... lemon clover grows wild in shady lawns in the summer in Northern California. As children my friends and cousins and I would pick the flowers and chew on the stems for the refreshing lemony flavor. This perfume smells like sunshine and running around on wet grass and chewing on lemon clover.

A soft pillow of moss in the spring after a sun shower. Cucumber is the top note here but it’s a gentle cucumber which gives this perfume a vegetal watery feeling. There’s certainly a clean laundry vibe about this but it’s not a chemical laundry like dryer sheets but more of a subtle blend that creates a warm damp cotton evaporating aroma. As this dries down the honeysuckle becomes more prominent. Very mellow and enjoyable.

A very sweet cucumber perfume. Interestingly, unlike other cucumber scents, it manages to smell like perfume instead of body care. Unfortunately, smelling this really solidifies for me how little I care for cucumber as a fragrance note. There are a few times when it's been done to fresh perfection, but here it's just too sweet for me. I enjoyed it the first few times I wore it, but as I've been wearing it for longer and longer, the scent has begun to bother me. It reminds me of cucumber water (blegh) that has too much sugar in it. If you enjoy cucumber, you will probably love this. For me, especially as its discontinued, it's a pass - it doesn't smell bad, but it's not for me.

I gave this away and regret it! It was a very green, herbal floral, kind of reminded me of an evergreen forest in springtime next to a wildflower field. Very lovely scent
