When the brand asserts that Navy is a "typical classic fragrance" for gentlemen, it is no lie. We are facing a mixture of citric, herbs and woods, that comes to life through its notes of bergamot, mandarin, verbena, and lime, at the top of the composition; followed by notes of coriander, juniper, and basil, in the heart; while the base brings amber, vetiver, sandalwood, and pepper. On my skin, the nuances of verbena were fantastic, even more, when the coriander gave the air of grace. Then, the citrus output began to give way to a more aromatic fragrance, more pleasant and a bit more elegant. After a while, in the final stage of evolution, the fragrance got a more "serious" tone, thanks to vetiver and sandalwood. Once again, Navy is a kind of cologne without much innovation, in the same style as the most classic fragrances with citrus output and aromatic evolution. The only difference between them is in the quality of the materials used, especially nowadays, with so many restrictions on the use of natural raw materials. That's when the niche excels from the designer's perfumery. With respect to the projection, is very good, while the lasting is excellent.

This is so fresh and amazing. A high quality citrus base fragrance that reminds me of Xejroff X 1861 at the opening. After a few minutes bergamot and vetiver appears and you can smell peppers and wood for a little bit. This is really well-made and you're gonna love it, as i do!

3 reviews and my feelings remain the same. Applies heavy soapy wood. Dry chord keeps it formal, but pretty good nuance. Citrus is bitter lime zest more than light and refreshing. Dominant wood base and - even though it pairs well - not a fan of shampoo. Vetiver takes time, but adds damp complexity to mid/base. Spraying on collar produces impressive projection with mentholy marine lime pith intensity. Overall, competent for formal experience, but feels like it'd make a person read boring. Not powdery, but a rigid old man in a mansion. Mostly a complex masculine shampoo I didn't mind experiencing, but not sexy and not excited to revisit. One of the lesser from the sampler of 7. 2ND TRY: Bright, but warm. Has a mostly soft, Irish Spring soapy note that’s mildly balanced by sharp citrus, botanics (basil/juniper) and spicy pepper. It has the right projection and strength and is somewhat compelling, if the soap element wasn’t so dominant. 1ST TRY: Perfect strength and duration. Smell is pleasant, but not really me. Older, more formal. Elderly country club. Well balanced and nice, though. Leather/pepper, dry floral herbs, and subtle lime. More dry/powder than sweet.

Received this sample with my purchase of South Water. Upon application of the sample I was intrigued. I couldn't quite remember where I smelled this same vibe before. I had my dad smell it and he claims it smells like his Irish Spring soap. I do get that smell from this. Not much citrus or woods. Vetiver, coriander, jumper and basil are the prominent notes in this fragrance. Overall, not too impressed not a good choice for a clean scent.

An interesting fragrance this one is: The opening is very reminiscent of Abercrombie and Fitch Woods ( the older formulation) or very similar to Le Duc De Vervins by Houbigant. The dry-down is rather identical to the dry-down of Patrick cologne by Scents of Ireland. The scent is a very sharp citric opening- then soapy fresh woody.
