Passion Flower

For those unaware, passion flower (Passiflora) is the flower of the passion fruit tree, which is called Maracujá (in Portuguese). But this fragrance is not a soliflore. It brings many nuances of passion flower, but these nuances do not reign alone during the evolution. With notes of gardenia, mimosa and passion flower, in the head, supported by a heart of tuberose, orange blossom and violets, as well as exotic woods and nectarine, at the base, this fragrance is extremely delicious, as soon is applied over the skin. In my opinion, it is one of the best (if not the best) among the female perfumes I tested from this house. I believe the explanation is the fact this scent remind me a lot, like a light version (fraiche), of Amarige (Givenchy), which I adore. Both fragrances share the same floral notes. In addition, although not mentioned by the manufacturer, there is a very strong nuance of ylang-ylang. However, unfortunately, the powerful and divine projection that arises at the beginning of the application is lost in about three hours, leaving a faint trace of what could be a masterpiece of the house. And for more that it insists staying on the skin, the scent is not even a shadow of what it was once. Very disappointing! Either way, it was made for women and obviously, it may react differently on women's skin. I hope so, because the scent is delicious and sensual.

This perfume has become my signature scent. I had a penny bottle when I was younger and used it so sparingly it lasted several years! It took some doing to find the right scent because it was a gift, and it was in one of the old penny bottles, which was unfortunately mislabeled as 'Jasmine'. The two couldn't be more radically different! This is a very elegant, tender, delicate, young and regal scent. For those who compare it to Amarige, I have to say it depends a LOT on your body chemistry - I appreciate Amarige on others but it does NOT work on my skin. Keep in mind I ONLY used the perfume - not the eau de toilette or eau de parfum. Yes, the pure perfume is more expensive, but for a real perfume, this lasts on my skin overnight (though by morning only I can smell it). This has decent sillage, and can definitely turn heads after you walk by. The other bonus - this perfume is so special, I promise that nobody else will be wearing it! I was given a miniature bottle of Passion Flower by my grandmother when I was younger. She had picked up a few bottles during her trip to Bermuda in the early 1950s while she was still single. After she passed away last year, we found a bottle in her drawer which she had kept. I was also given a bottle by my Aunt who received it from her mother (my grandmother). I have yet to buy a new bottle of this fragrance, but whilst sampling the three bottles, I noticed that one of the bottles had a pungent odour. However, the other two have held up remarkably well. I plan to buy a new bottle so I can compare the two. My description of the vintage scent as I haven’t a bottle of the modern fragrance: This scent evokes a memory of a carefree summer, and of a tropical island. It is light, powdery, fruity, and floral. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last any more than a few hours so you have to reapply often. If you are looking for a niche fragrance for summer, this would be perfect.

just purchased this from the perfumery in Bermuda about 3 weeks ago, and have been loving it. It could be just my positive memories connected to my trip, but I really am enjoying this fragrance. To me, it smells like when you've just showered and have put on some luxurious cream on your skin. I sprayed it immediately after I left the perfumery and walked around the town in the high heat and humidity, and it really blossomed under those conditions. It wasn't heady at all and left a delicate scent trail. Sillage, I'd say is probably at arm's length, but I suppose that depends on how much you spray. I'm interested to see how this will play in the cold weather now :) .

This perfume is a delicate skin scent. Light, with a touch of airyness and humidity to it, it has some kind of misty quality about it, very feminine, softly sweet-but not in an artificial or candied way. I recieved the set of samples in a tin- directly from the manufacturer- and the notes listed are Gardenia, Passion Flower, and Mimosa. The scent is so extremely fragile and transparent..that sadly I cannot say much about the scent. I smelled a hint of the fruits. The passion flower is boldest at opening, and yes it's there, I recognized it, the same kind of passion flower scent from Lancome Hypnose (but better quality). The passion flower note stands out in the beginning, and it's a bit waxy-but that's something I like, I'll never understand why. It's very well blended and composed, but all the rest of the notes are too meek and mild. Some very light musk and shy sandlewood creep out in about an hour...hour and fifteen minutes. This soft perfume fades fast.

Creamy, spicy, not quite tropical in my opinion, but like a bit oriental. That is another one from Lili Bermuda that I could categorize like a mono perfume. Though I may recognize a lot of the notes listed, they all compose a one main – passion flower. That is strange I do not see it listed here, as in the manufacturer’s brochure there were “Heady Gardenia, Passion Flower and Mimosa”. Yet anyway, the description of this perfume may be the same as the description of the passion flower’s scent: heavy, waxy, overwhelming, tempting, luscious and haunting. For some lady who is associating her character with this flower, this perfume is the best choice as a signature one.

Passion Flower has a strong floral touch throughout all accords. On my skin I get mainly gardenia, ylang ylang and sandalwood, maybe a little touch of peach too. Really warm and opulent but very soft in the silage. The scent just sits close to the skin. I believe this is a good nighttime or a rainy day scent, and I can imagine wearing it more on colder than warmer days. Again, very a natural and realistic fragrance.

I found a sample bottle from my honeymoon in 1997. Not sure if it is the same formulation, as I get a strong spicy, peppery smell off the bat, that dries down to a powdery floral. Not getting any peach-and I usually like peach scents. A bit overpowering for summer, but nice with a sweater on a rainy fall day.

I like it, it reminds of Givenchy Amarige and Armani Privé Rouge Malachite. Since I own a FB of Amarige, I will not buy this super expensive scent. Highly recommend to sample, a bit old fashioned perfume, but still quite delicate.

I think this is lovely but agree it is delicate and short-lived. It is a floral scent but not "flowery," I enjoy the nectarine in it, and the waxiness. You have to enjoy it quickly because it's completely gone after two hours.
