Curve Chill

Found a mini of this for $4.99 at TJ Maxx. I'm very neutral on this scent. It's a fresh blast of spice, which is pleasant and certainly not offensive in any way, but I just can't get excited about it. I'm wearing it today on an overcast, cool summer day and have given myself about 6 sprays. For me, after two hours, it's quite close to the skin. I catch subtle whiffs of it now and again, and while nice, it's just kind of "there." I will certainly use up the bottle but probably won't purchase again. That said, for this price, I would certainly try more Crush varieties. You just never know when a scent is going to hit you just right and make your day! EDIT: A couple of weeks later: Curve Chill, I owe you an apology. You're such a sweet little unassuming thing, and I should've given you more of a chance. My mini is almost used up. I am now excited by you and will purchase this again. You don't shout from the rooftops but wow, are you cozy, spicy and fresh! My daughter came down the steps wearing this the other day and I couldn't believe the lovely sillage that followed her. Now I need to hunt down the other Curve varieties. This one was an inexpensive hidden treasure. My lesson is: give a scent more than one chance to make an impression!

I like to keep this somewhere cool in the warm months. I wasn't sure about the ginger and tea note combo but it really works here. A lovely warm, dry, herbally freshness. There is nothing harsh or sharp here. I guess I could liken it to the smell of recently dried flowers and herbs. A nice everyday or casual fragrance that would be hard to offend anyone. I'd say it was unisex. For an edt the longevity and sillage are pretty good. A bargain price to.

The tea-ginger-lemon top differentiates this from a million nondescript laundry-scent soapy department store florals, which makes this one of my favorites among the aforementioned nondescript florals I have smelled so far. I can see why so many people have left negative reviews, though: if you're in the market for a sweet-all-the-way-down TJ Maxx fragrance, you should try before you buy here. The heart and soul of this is still a simple soap-powder floral — you will not smell at all like actual tea wearing this — but those green tea and ginger top notes do give it a pleasant edge. On me, I can easily sense the crisp lemon and the aromatic accord that can be construed as green tea if you squint. I get only the tiniest hint of the warmth of ginger in the back of my throat. I love the drydown of this, when that 90s floral musk finally calms down and lets the whispers of ginger and vetiver shine in a slightly powdery haze. That semi-sweet crispness really is my favorite thing about this fragrance. It makes me think of bees flying along in search of pollen, low to the ground, surrounded by grass and roots and the odd flower. I'd love to smell a fragrance that's more of this, without all of the opening powder and musk. I'm not someone who likes linear musky-soapy florals — I find them boring and headachey, and this is no exception — but this one tempts me. If the first couple of musky hours didn't give me a headache, I would like it. If you're into these sorts of scents but long for something a tiny bit different, try this. This could be a signature for sure.

I blind bought this off of eBay for $7 for 1.7 oz, so figured I couldn't go wrong even if I wasn't really a fan. I was worried about the ginger smell being too strong, but it's not overpowering AT ALL. In fact, the tea smell is the strongest on me and it's actually so different from anything I've smelled. It smells like a black and green tea blend...not very strong green or black, but somewhere in the middle (and not really oolong either). I have to agree with the reviewer who said that it reminds them of Lipton tea with lemon. I don't get as much lemon as I get tea, cedar, and freesia, but still detectable (just as detectable as the ginger, which seems to fall into the background after a handful of minutes). I have to disagree with someone who said this smelled like a household cleaner. I'd probably be tempted to spray myself with said household cleaner if it smelled like this! Works very well with my chemistry. I actually LOVE this.

A beautifully soft musky tea scent with some ginger and lemon. I find the ginger to be very soft in this, not astringent. I often step back when I see ginger is in a composition because it can be too much on my skin, which seems to amplify it, but I can get away with a handful of fragrances with ginger in it. This is one of them. It's almost like a ginger-flavored candy it's so soft. I am the same person as ThisIsOurBlanket (couldn't find a way to delete that account). I still stand by the idea that this smells like a black/green-tea blend, almost like Lipton black tea, with some light milk, sugar, and lemon. There is that musky Curve vibe that is present in this, which makes it suitable for working out or something active. This also lasts a whole day on me, which is surprising given that it's a tea scent and it's very cheap!
