Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne opens with a very pleasant combination of mostly pineapple, juniper berries, and lavender. The initial projection is very good, the notes are crisp and aromatic. The pineapple feels evocative of the actual fruit, slightly sweet and sharp; the juniper berries add a fruity and woody accord; the lavender adds its floral clean-like accord; the neroli adds a soft bitterness and the lemon enhances the pineapple notes rather than becoming an isolated note. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, several woody accords join the blend adding depth; the vetiver, cactus, and ginger boost the accords by introducing a spicy and green tone. Other tones are there to support an enhance but don’t come up as prominent. The transition from the opening to the dry-down is relatively linear, the opening notes continue into the dry-down enhanced by the various notes included in this fragrance. Once Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, slightly sweet, pineapple, juniper berry, lavender, and woody fragrance with green and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels aromatic, casual, clean, cool, diurnal, energizing, fresh, high-quality inviting, masculine but not for much, natural, nicely blended, playful, relaxing, sparkly, sporty, slightly sweet, unique, versatile, and very pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2019 WOW RATING: 10/10. Its freshness, moderate sweetness, and perfectly balanced pineapple and woody notes create a great fragrance. DISLIKE RATING: 0/10. The notes in this fragrance and inoffensive. UNIQUENESS: 7/10. Fruity, woody, fragrances are common, but the resulting scent of Curve is great. MASS APPEAL: 10/10. This is a crowd-pleasing fragrance. PROJECTION: 3/10. Moderate, about three feet around the wearer with consistent good projection. SILLAGE: 4/10. Moderate, about four feet behind the wearer. APPLICATION: Four will suffice. More will not make the fragrance offensive. LONGEVITY: 4/10. Moderate, about 4 hours. SEASONS: Spring, summer, and fall. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, gym, office, casual, holidays, romantic, dating, clubbing. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 9/10. Highly versatile, this fragrance can be worn most of the year, almost for any occasion. GENDER: Advertised as masculine, the spicy and woody accords create a small tilt it to the masculine side. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne is a very affordable fragrance that delivers an outstanding scent and performance, and, for only $25 for 4.2oz. At this price and considering its impressive ratings, this is a must-buy. Liz Claiborne Curve Cologne is a good example of a very affordable fragrance that delivers a superior value. BLIND-BUY: Yes. SIMILAR: These are examples of fragrances in the same genre. Terre D’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is a good woody aromatic fragrance with earthy and citrus accords; Abercrombie & Fitch Instinct Extreme features starfruit, and violet, a clean-like fragrance; YSL Y Live EDT or Parfum, featuring fresh fruity and woody accords; SUMMARY: A moderate projection, slightly sweet, pineapple, juniper berry, lavender, and woody fragrance with green and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels aromatic, casual, clean, cool, diurnal, energizing, fresh, high-quality inviting, masculine but not for much, natural, nicely blended, playful, relaxing, sparkly, sporty, slightly sweet, unique, versatile, and very pleasant.

Thank you Fragrantica for starting my interest in fragrance. Thanks to you I just started getting the horse---t off of my boots and can buy with more certainty. Hey! gotta problem with horse--t, I just mucked out the stables. Sure ya did. You're too lazy to be a cowboy. Curve for Men: Aromatic Green/Jean Claude Delville 1996 Notes: Top: Pineapple, juniper berries, lavender, neroli, lemon Middle: Coriander, ginger, violet, CACTUS, sage, bergamot, cardamom Base: Sandalwood, amber, musk, vetiver, cedar, mahogany, pepper First off--CACTUS SO EXCITING-- and I think I might smell it in the sharp, green, "planty-ness" of the open. It quickly settles into an abstract ocean-foam aquatic note. Not salty aquatic. No aquatic listed. Maybe the juniper, cactus, clary sage combine. Maybe it is in there and not listed, who knows? Honestly, it is like ocean foam bubbles when I used to go body surfing all the time as a kid. This is really just delightful because I have not explored aquatic yet. As for the pineapple this scent may be an early comer: Curve used Pineapple in 1996, Creed Aventus in 2010. Fresh, initially sharp, fast drydown with a mysterious heft, almost steamy graininess, to the aroma so natural and maybe aquatic. Skin scent real fast. Nearly nothing in time. This can have its advantages for planning your fragrance use. It is NOT a disadvantage. This fragrance was a huge, huge hit--big enough for Revlon. Windowpane sport coats were so hot back then and were truly gorgeous. Liz Claiborne had these beauties. So expensive as I recall. The Fragrance: Should you buy it? Yes, just with some fun money. This is not a somber collection-building purchase. This is fun--zany fun with some serious hotness thrown into it. This is a kind of weird, poppin', gorgeous green-- just for fun purchase. Aromatic is too simple a description, it is more a feeling. From over a foot I can sense off of my arm a strange, grainy steaminess of plant kingdom. In time it vanishes. What the heck am I saying? So weird. Side Rant: I have a whole section in my collection of fun, inexpensive, and creative bursts. Juicy Couture(Regency Collection, Oui, Malibu) Liz Claiborne(Appeal too) Paris Hilton( Heir, also For Men, Gold Rush, With Love-alittle too feminine, maybe) FILA, Dunhill( I have most all--toe to toe with any of them out there) Packaging(Exceptional Quality of Materials): This bottle is so cheery. It is heavy and feels so good to hold. Gold cursive states in bold, top- quality gold-- 'Curve'. It gracefully splashes across the face. Box is gold, gold, gold and looks so much like--what? Gold! Mandarin orange dots all over it. Mandarin orange cardboard box liner with stiff tabs, heavy gauge. An orange, tough polymer type ring has a pull for easy removal--freeing the atomizer. It will not break, it is well made. Atomizer is one of the better, and aperture is mandarin orange plastic. You can see it. Details spoken here. Quality Faux Gold utilized here. Just really unique for its time and brings a fun attitude not found these days. Recommend you rig up a nice travel decant--hit it hard with the main bottle, then boost often. Sounds like I'm talkin' about somethin' else.

Every fragrance has a story. I tell this story to my friends that know I'm into fragrances. Summer 2001 and I'm working in an upscale/trendy clothing store. Helped a gentleman pick out some clothing...must have been in his 40's. I've been in retail about 5 years at this time and have smelled many fragrances on co-workers and customers. The only time I ever asked someone what they were wearing was when I worked at Brooks Brothers and followed a gentleman around the store until I mustered up enough courage to ask him what he was wearing (Joop). I didn't want to be on a wild goose-chase trying to figure out what this guy was wearing so I asked him as he was about to leave the store. He said his daughter bought it for him and didn't know. A couple minutes later he came back to the store and told me it was Curve. Perfect! I was going to a bar with a couple of my friends that evening and stopped by Kohl's to see if they had Curve....yep! Success! I met up with everyone at my friends house and unwrapped it. I began to spray it outside and a few of my other friends asked if they could use some as well. Sure, why not! Car ride to the bar.....man, this doesn't smell anything like what the guy wore. Oh well, maybe it smells different in the air. No comments at the bar from anyone....nothing really eventful happened. Next day at work I worked the closing shift so I wore Curve again. I worked with a lot of beautiful women my age and knew they would tell me if I smelled good or not. Not long after I started work, I'm folding sweaters with one of the girls I worked with and she told me I smelled like Curve! Yep!! She then goes "Why are you wearing perfume? Did you meet a girl last night"? I told her no and why she would say that. She said because she has Curve perfume and I smell just like it!!! I'm like....."Is your bottle clear"? She said "Yep"!!! Oh crap, I bought the perfume...not the cologne!!!! Went back to Kohl's and picked up the cologne the next day!!! The summer of 2001 and 2002 I wore this a lot and created some amazing memories I will never forget. I can spray this and be taken immediately back to this time and I hope those feelings never fade away. I've gone through at least 5 bottles of this and the performance isn't anything like what it used to be....but I do have a bottle that's around 10ish years old and performs well. I will always have this with me and hope they never discontinue it. I think this is an excellent entry level fragrance for young boys/girls who just want to smell good! Cheers!!

My husband has Fierce, and I just picked this up for him the other day. Well...I didn't realize this was of any relation to Fierce (I bought it because I also bought myself Curve for women), but Fierce is one of my favorites of all time for men. Consequently, so is this now too. What can I say? I'm a Millennial woman. 😌🙃 I don't want this entire review to be a comparison, but at some level I cannot help it, in my life Fierce made it's presence known first, so I'm perceiving this from that vantage point. I literally have the bottles out and have sprayed them both. Both open with a brisk, clean, bracing, albeit synthetic fruit. From the jump Curve is softer, and hints toward more spice, but Fierce reveals it's intention of drying down into the aggressive laundry musk (almost metallic) that it does. Curve takes a more meandering, soft (fitting, given the name), rounded approach. There's more spice, yes, I smell a little cinnamon and the texture of violet melding with cardamom - plushy. "Plushy" could never be applied to Fierce IMHO, as it feels almost scratchy. I truly do love both, but they are different enough not to be redundant. Curve also feels warm in a sweeter way, whilst Fierce is warm, but more like hot cotton. There's almost something vanillic within Curve, something that is to be discovered and potentiated by skin chemistry. Fierce always feels like it sits *over* my husband's (or anyone else I ever smelled wearing it) skin - like an extention of clothing itself. Curve is more intimate both is sillage, but also in the emotive meaning/feeling of the word. I'm not trying to be diplomatic, I lean toward Fierce about 10% more, but both absolutely have their place. Curve is overall a safer option, more introverted, more sensitive, warmer, and smoother. Fierce is more assertive. However, if you like one, you'll probably like the other. Also, I see how this men's version of Curve is complimentary toward the women's; they both contain a similarly soft, sandalwoody base. And on that subject, I am pleased to say, it's a 90s-2000s sandalwood, not the Santal 33-esque picklewood of modern times. Overall, this is an amazing budget fragrance and feels skillfully constructed. It's hard to even pinpoint all of the notes, because it's smooth. I think it's aged beautifully, and only feels dated in a cool, throwback way, not in a tacky way whatsoever. I enjoy this more than the vast majority of newer releases for guys.

I'm very impressed by Curve. I knew Legend Intense by Mont blanc first then Chanel platinum Egoist and now Curve that I received in the mail 3 days ago, so I own all 3. Honestly there is a similarity but they are very different fragrances. I don't wear Platinum Egoist anymore as there is a metallic note that I don't like at all. I wasn't sure about it at first but once I seat next to a friend who was wearing Platinum Egoist and the metalic note consfirmed it smelled nasty/pungent to me. I never wore PE again since that day. I was shopping for other fragrances on a popular website and so curve so cheap that I bought it too just to have it in colection but wasn't expecting anything. Was I wrong! People say Platinum Egoist is a step up from Curve but for me it's the exact opposite! I like Curve a lot, it's soft and elegant enough to be worn in my office with my suit and when I smell it side by side with PE, PE is just disguqting to me. Don't make me wrong, I loved platinum Egoist when I bought it 2 years ago but since I've learned that it is just a decent introduction into fragrances. I don't know if it's the lemon but something in it is so sharpe that it disgusts me. I'm glad I discoved curve, it's even sexy and I can wear it at night whereas I've never worn PE at night for a date or something because women don't like the pungent note in it (this was my impression and I asked several female friends who confirmed). This is for the recent formula of curve and it has very decent longevity (around 6 hours on me). I can't tell for the projection yet, though. I didn't talk at all about Legend intense by Mont blanc but I don't wear this one neither anymore since I discovered better frangrances since I bouht it but I wear Curve so yes, maybe I will do the same and won't wear curve anymore after some time but right now I can tell you I think curve smell better than the other two. Smell: Curve> Legend intense > Platinum Egoist Longevity: Legend intense > Platinum Egoist=Curve Projection: Legend intense > Platinum Egoist = Curve (but I'm not quite sure yet about the projection of Curve. For now I feel like it's quite the same as PE).

This fragrance is no longer trendy, expensive or extremely popular. HOWEVER, it WAS, IS...and ALWAYS WILL BE... "LADY KILLER #1!!!" For some reason, women go absolutely BAT S#!T over Curve. I have over 140 different fragrances and this one has received more compliments from the ladies than ANY of the others combined. Yeah...go figure. This is the one that knocked Davidoff's Cool Water off of its throne in the mid to late 90s. No, it's not the longevity and projection beast that it once was before Liz Claiborne sold the rights to it, but the smell is basically the same. Honestly, I have received compliments on this fragrance from women ages 18-80. Some of the compliments were polite and lady-like and some of them were just plain, blatant sexual invitations. And, for that, I simply and respectfully call this fragrance "THE LEGEND." I like to use a variety of soaps, body washes and skin lotions with it to create different "faces" and effects. It is my all-time absolute favorite. So, to Liz Claiborne and the minds and development team behind Curve for Men...I salute you for creating a captivating scent that has become a "must have" in every man's fragrance collection. BEWARE: Be careful how you use this classic. If you are single, then no problem...enjoy the attention. However, if you are NOT single, this fragrance can create friction in the household. Your lady WILL NOT be happy with the constant attention and large number of compliments that you receive while wearing this outstanding aromatic monster. Either way, get ready...because HERE THEY COME.

Longevity - 4–6 hours average (can fade quicker due to cologne concentration) Projection - First hour: moderate Mid: light scent bubble Late: close to skin Not strong, more casual presence Weather Suitability - Best: Spring / Summer / daytime Great for: daily wear, errands, casual use Not for cold nights [ The Opening ] Pineapple, Lemon, Lavender, Juniper, Neroli, fresh fruity aromatic burst Experience: juicy pineapple sweetness sharp lemon citrus herbal lavender + juniper (slightly “gin-like”) First impression: fresh, slightly sweet, green citrus with a nostalgic vibe [ The Heart ] Bergamot, Cactus, Ginger, Sage, Cardamom, Violet, green spicy core Experience: greener and more herbal slightly spicy from ginger + cardamom fresh but less fruity First impression: green aromatic freshness with light spice [ The Dry Down ] Musk, Sandalwood, Mahogany, Cedar, Amber, Vetiver, woody base Experience: soft woods clean musk slight warmth from amber Final stage: clean woody skin scent with a faint sweetness Imagine the Smell - You just stepped out of the shower and grabbed something fresh and easy. There’s a burst of pineapple and citrus, bright, slightly sweet, and energetic. Then it turns greener, like fresh air mixed with herbs and a hint of spice. As it settles, it becomes a clean woody scent sitting close to your skin, simple, fresh, and easy to wear without thinking.

This is a classic scent that brings me tons of memories. At one point it was my signature and I use to get tons of compliments wearing it. It's unique in that there aren't any scents that are modern that has this type of profile. I've smelled inspired/modernized CK 1, polo sport, Fahrenheit, cool water and other classics but no cologne that I am aware of smells like Curve aside from it's flankers (to my nose, curve crush being the most similar). I wore curve in late 90's and curve crush in early 2000's. Back when Liz Clayborn owned it, it was fantastic. Sadly, the newer formulations are weak and synthetic versions of this classic. But for 20 bucks it still captures some of those things that made it special and you rarely smell it on any one any more. Maybe it's just nostalgia for me, but I rate this 5/5 easily on it's original composition. Would I wear it today? Not sure since I've grown a lot since then (and my nose has matured) and have a ton of fragrances, but I could see myself applying some sprays on a quick run to the store or doing a quick errand.

  • em inglês

Without being the fragrance snobs we are now and picking out the notes, you cannot deny that this is such a good nostalgic scent and was ahead of its time. I'm not even going to go into the notes, but when I wear Curve, it takes me back to middle school/high school. All the good and bad memories lol, come back to me like it happened yesterday. This is more than a fragrance for me, but more like a time portal. From time to time, out of all my expensive and cheapies, I wear Curve when I lounge around at home. It's a good scent to myself. Longevity - 5-6 hours, and that is decent in my book, especially for the price. 7/10 Sillage- arms length with a nice scent trail for the first 1.5 or so hours and then skin scent. Versatility - anytime anywhere. It's a clean scent and somewhat non offensive. When others smell this on me, they're immediately reminded of high school lol good or bad? That's for you to decide Compliments - I don't wear this out, but back in middle/high school 10/10

My favorite and signature fragrance for many reasons! first off I'd say, I've seen many reviews saying that because its no longer under the original Liz Claiborne name, it's no longer good. I'd say, that is false! Curve it's still good, it's still classy and it's a classic! Second, many call this scent "generic." While that may have some truth, let me challenge that statement. Curve came out in 1997, which is why I consider it a classic. It has a green, fresh spicy, and musky smell. while it smells similar to other colognes on the market, doesn't parfum de marly smell similar to some designer releases too, which is quite generic if you ask me. Thirdly you can get away with wearing curve and not smell like anyone or generic due to the fact that curve has no ambroxan note. The frags with the ambroxan note are the best sellers lately. All in all, I give this a 10/10!! update 8/21: Had to let this one go, gave me bad allergies. still a classic imo.

Bro, yes. This was the first time I bought a fragrance because of smelling it on another dude. I still wear it 16 years later, even after the labels of "prep" and "skater" have left my life. This is legitimately one of the best mall fragrances and I recommend every young man buy a bottle. Maybe I'm a peasant, but this fragrance is probably in my Top 20 fragrances I've ever smelled. I always love to sniff it. Sometimes I will just smell the nozzle for fun, even when I'm not going to wear it. New bottles are not as good as they used to be in the mid-2000's, in my opinion, but it's retained the powerful pineapple explosion and all those woody, floral, masculine, spicy supporting notes. I love Curve and women adore it. I've had women I've never been intimate with touch, nuzzle, and bite me when I had this stuff on. I've had girlfriends ask me to wear it on dates. This fragrance slaps, go get you some. A lot of the flanker are nice, too.

For all those who said summer and spring, I get it. I even agree with you. My take is slightly different though. I got this fragrance the day before a bagpipe competition/festival in 1998. I decided to wear it to the that bagpipe festival. The event was up in the mountains and the autumn leaves were coming down in all their red, orange, and yellow glory. This scent laid down very well on my heavy 16oz, 11 yard kilt. That association of cool weather, the sounds of bagpipes echoing through the hills, valleys and mountains, along with the fantastic fall foilage has left me with this fragrance permanently attached to fall-time. While I know it is citrusy, there is also something very woody and peppery(not smokey)that accents autumn time occasions beautifully!

  • em inglês

This is one of the first fragrances I wore when I started my journey back in high school. It's because of this fragrance that I started liking fresh, citrus fragrances. This fragrance, to me, is a masterpiece and is one of the most inexpensive ones on the market. It is better than some fragrances that cost 5 times the price! It was really popular during the late 90's-early 2000's (it was then what Creed Aventus and Dior Savauge are now) and was my signature scent at one time. I'll probably never get tired of it and though I don't wear it as much as I used to (not even close), I still reach for it from time to time during spring and summer. This is the quintessential, when-a-cheapie-is-done-right scent right here!

I like this smells like my dad when I smell this I think of him in todays time it’s weak and don’t last and smells little different then it use to back then it lasted and projected very good I have a lot of frags and for some reason it’s one of my most compliment frag it’s crowd pleasing my fav thing about this is it’s very unique nothing else smells like it I wish people would take inspiration from this and make it there own it last in today’s time 3-4 hours and don’t projects long you can tell it’s water down for me it’s a 10/10 frag in my opinion from the uniqueness it has and knowing how good it use to be in today’s time 5/10 I think you can rock this every season any event except winter

  • em inglês

Classic scent still smells good and wearable now. I get lots of lavender, some sweet citrus, and woody soapy drydown. No problems with longevity and projection if you double up on sprays, meaning layer it on itself. If you spray it six times at various places on your moisturized body, hit yourself again at the same areas a second time after the first sprays dries in like 2 or 3 minutes (12 total sprays) Problem solved at least for me. I get a full workday about 7 to 8 hours of longevity and on a warm spring and fall day with just enough heat hitting your skin it projects rather well for 2 or 3 hours. Glad I picked up a new bottle

The first fragrance that I ever owned while I was a kid in middle school. I had no clue that fragrance can uplift peoples moods so when I wore this fragrance to school it started getting me compliments and then that’s when my fragrance journey began. This fragrance was the first fragrance that started my journey into collecting fragrance. This is still a masterpiece. I no longer own this fragrance but someday I plan repurchasing it just to revisit memories I had with it. All it takes is one sniff and it’s like time traveling back to specific and special moments back in time reminiscing moments.

I just bought a 200 ml ea version of this perfume. It is my 4th bottled, but the first time I purchased a 200 ml (usually 125 ml). The Smell is the same. Same that I enjoyed for a very long time. Good thing a have a comparison as I still have my 125 ml aftershave (vintage) to compare to. The thing is, the aftershave has same longevity with the current version (around 2 to 3 hours) maximum 4 hours tops. Nevertheless, I can overspray and use 2 sprays of Legend intense behind each ear and 4 sprays of Curve all over. It extends the projection and longevity in 6 hours.

  • em inglês

Fragrance snobs will not like this scent. As for the rest of us, it is simply a pleasure to wear. I know of no other scent in this price range and very few in higher ranges that even come close to Curve in projection and longevity. As for the scent, it is fresh, soapy, positive and uplifting. Citrus and lavender are dominant notes. It is cheap and ubiquitous and should be in every collection. If you don't wish to wear it, it also works great as a room spray. I use it in my office to fumigate after we are visited by "infrequent bathers." Prov 27:9

I don’t know why, but this has to be a top ten panty dropper of all time. I don’t even like it that much. But This cheap little sucker is a lady killer. I’ve never met a woman who didn’t swoon over this every time I’ve worn it. It pains me to wear it but if it’s all I had I know it would not fail me. Oh the memories. I sprayed this on when I worked in a factory one time, and the girl I worked beside acted like she wanted to blow me right there on the assembly line. Good stuff. That’s one instance of dozens with this synthetic little number.

I remember buying my first bottle of Curve from Dillard's the week it launched in late 1996. I'm pretty sure I've had a bottle in my collection ever since then. It is essentially the same scent that is was 25 years ago. It's clean, aromatic, and just smells undeniably good. So many memories locked away in that strange green juice. It's more like an old friend than anything else. I don't care if it smells too common or commerical or synthetic or whatever. I give zero Fs about critics, but I give Curve 5 stars. I have spoken.
