Jasmin & Bergamote

This is my first "The One that Got Away" perfume. I had a stop at DBX a few months ago and I took the liberty to check the perfumes at their Duty Free. Holy CR*P. This, this is SEVERELY one of my most favorite perfumes ever. But I was too scared to buy it because I don't think people would appreciate this perfume the way I did. It reminded me of church. Not everyone has pleasant memories of churches, but for me, this reminded me of fonder times. The jasmine smelled as if it were combined with incense and aromatics, and then it was balanced out by the citrus-ness of the bergamot. Maybe I could recreate this perfume by combining jasmine and bergamot oils but I would never know for sure.

For me it's a beautiful, sparkly, spring and summer scent. (I love, love, love citrusy/ woody scents, but hate heavy, greasy jasmine)This one is a perfect of my "jasmine for me" search! Perfect for gift, can't go wrong with it, perfect for office also. I really can't imagine someone can be offended by it. All of the notes are present and distinct, the dry down is more sweet than flowery or citrucy, but a well balanced scent all together. I was gifted this today and it made me smile for hours! Maybe I wouldn't have purchased it by myself, as I find the brand overpriced, but I'm very happy to have it. Deffinitely recomend testing on skin, if you get the chance.

My first time writing here I shall devote for this little gem! I've never been a fan of Jasmine in anything as I find it too heavy, but based on the reviews here, I gave it a try. I just got a mini-bottle of this and upon trying; wow. It sits so beautifully on my skin. I get the jasmine in the opening mixed wonderfully with the bergamot. It reminds me of a mojito. Or drinking mojito at night in the tropics, and you're wearing a pretty dress. I live in the tropics so it wasn't so hard to imagine. Hoping this lasts for long. That's the only thing I'm waiting for before I troop to the nearest L'Occitane in my neighborhood and get a big ass bottle!

The citrus-y note overwhelms the floral, but you know the jasmine is faintly there, along with some green and woody notes. I would say this is a people-pleaser, in the sense that this hardly can offend anyone. This EDT is very soft and fresh, and it's actually my favourite kind of EDT. Downside, this is very pricey and it only comes with 75ml EDT, and it doesn't last more than 45 minutes. I had to either wear a lot or constantly reapply this. I used up my bottle in 3 months with everyday use. But overall aside from the longevity this is a really good perfume.

Such an underrated fragrance. It opens a little zesty with a clear green note (to me it’s reminiscent of vetiver but apparently is petitgrain) and bergamot. The jasmine is powerful and indolic. And at the bottom is just the right balance of sandalwood that keeps the jasmine in check but without taking over. Lasts all day. I agree with another reviewer that this is not a complex fragrance, but therein lies the beauty of it — simple, but simply gorgeous. If you’re a huge jasmine fan like I am, this is absolutely worth a try.

I recently got a tester of this and was bowled over. Jasmine is not my favorite flower, as it can be cloying, but in this fragrance it is perfectly balanced with the bergamot, just enough to add a floral counterpart to all that citrus. I do not usually go for strong citrus scents either (Light Blue was far too much lemon for me), but this has easily become my go-to pick-up perfume when I need energy or a mood lift, as the scent is like instant sunshine. Can't wait to get the full-sized bottle!

New edition of this scent is available in a plain bottle. It is a very simple scent, with that kind of clarity that reminds of Jo Malone, as others also have mentioned. I usually don't like/tolerate white florals, but here the jasmine was not screechy at all. Perfect balance of mild jasmine and slightly bitter bergamot (which I love). It lasted the whole day on my hand. Really lovely.

I was able to take a sneak peek of this one at my local L'Occitane boutique and try it out. It won't be officially released until April 17th according to one of the lovely SAs. Jasmin & Bergamote is a very green, mouth watering woody floral with a prominent aquatic accord throughout. I don't get any of the indolic borderline acrid qualities that jasmine, true to LIFE jasmine can sometimes have. The jasmine note here is quite prominent, but the (not too sharp) bergamot and petitgrain keep it in shimmering green territory. I don't know if it's just a L'Occitane signature phenomenon, but I keep thinking of peony even though it's not listed in the notes. This composition is excellent, but it's not addictive in the same way that their SOON TO BE DISCONTINUED Notre Flore Jasmine is. I'll be mighty sad to see that one go. This is how I wish Florabotanica by Balenciaga smelled. Like Florabotanica, J&B is also a white floral greened way down by citrus and woods, yet it is not headache-inducing or remotely cloying. L'Occitane is masterful at keeping their fragrances wearable, even when applied liberally, without making them weak or watery (Pivone excepted). This would be good for a casual setting as well as for a more special occasion. The bergamot insures that it's not too heavy for daytime wear. It projects moderately and lasts all day and evening on my skin. L'Occitane's (soon to be gone forever) Notre Flore Jasmine happens to be my favorite Jasmine soliflore on the market. It really sparkles and is allowed room to breathe and glow on my skin. It's more translucent and delicate than the jasmine flower itself, as if the perfumer took the flower and stole all of its best qualities in order to showcase them. The jasmine note in Jasmin & Bergamote on the other hand, is so well blended with its surrounding elements, that I feel it is closer to the jasmine in L'Occitane's The Vert with Jasmine, than their Jasmine soliflore. Just substitute the green tea note with green citrus, leaves and woods. Perfect for anyone who wants a sturdy green floral without complete citrus overload. It invokes a feeling of serenity, like the sparkles on a lake, and when gifting it to someone, I think it would be a very safe choice. Just wearing it today I have received a bunch of compliments, from my mother as well as from strangers. Another solid refreshing composition from L'Occitane.

I tried this a few times from testers and everytime I think: "mmm... nice one! I could buy it...maybe not" The problem is that like is not enough to shell money these times and so perfumes that I would gladly add to my collection stay on shelf. I really like the combo, it's both zesty and sweet floral and uplifting even in fresher weather. For me it's a good work, left behind all the marketing fuss about Provence etc coming to the juice is very nice. It's not a typical fresh&sporty or a fruit basket. It has body enough to be a perfume not a refreshing cologne and it lasts a good while on skin. Bergamot and Jasmin as the name says and that's all. The jasmine is very well made and it smell like a green type of jasmine that I smelled in Egypt. Anyway in the line of L'Occitane it is also a simple fragrance, well made, but not complex and layered. Not expensive, but not totally worthy a FB at the moment.

Treated myself to the irresistible beautiful gift set of "La Collection de Grasse" the other day (£28) which will give you 7.5ml of each of the 4 scents. I am a huge jasmin fan and normally love it as a heart note in very complex high quality frags. Here it is used in a new way, that I would consider a juxtaposition since jasmine normally pairs up better with the warmer notes (vanilla, sandalwood, benzoin, tonka bean etc). I can see what Miss Dubreuil tried to achieve (making jasmine less sweet and bergamot less sharp) and it is a venerable effort of an inoffensive light citrussy, mildy floral summer scent. As with most citrus enphasized fragrances, the sharp invigorating effect wears off all too quickly. All it leaves is a dapple shade of sour apple. While it is just fine for a hot summer's day, it is not exactly an olfactory revelation. My least favourite of the quartet "La Collection de Grasse".

This is a perfume that's easy to like, but maybe doesn't fall under the 'love' category as much (at least not for me). It's refreshing, citrusey and uplifting- honestly a great spring/summer scent. I barely ever use it in the winter, just doesn't have the right feel for cold weather. I'm not great at detecting notes but I definitely get jasmine right away and some bergamot. Unlike other reviewers, I don't think the bergamot is overpowering the jasmine at all - the jas remains clear and noticeable to me. My biggest complaint about this perfume is the lack of longevity. Sillage also leaves something to be desired (I would consider this to be close to a skin scent after about half an hour). You can use a lot of this perfume and still not smell it in a couple hours, at least not on me..

This is a really fresh, feminine, pretty fragrance. Good strength but still fresh and a bit watery; I clearly smell both the jasmine and bergamot. I like it a lot. HOWEVER--it is not worth the $75 price tag. I don't know why they don't offer this scent in smaller sizes. I really would like to purchase it but if that price point is my only option, it's going to stay on the shelf. I think it's silly to offer something like fragrance in just one size--particularly at that cost. I'm just a little frustrated with this because while it is nice, there are too many other options on the market that offer me a greater range in terms of size and price.

This Jasmin & Bergamotte would be perfect for a very hot day in summer; it's very nice and fresh and simple, and so light it's barely there at all. The very opposite of cloying! It's more of a citrus fragrance than anything else, a little aromatic; the jasmine definitely isn't overwhelming, it just adds a bit of a floral quality. It's not very distinctive - although I've had a mini for more than a year I haven't reached for it much, and even now I can't find very much to say about it, but I do like it! Those hottest of summer days when this would be at its best come around so rarely anyway, it'll be good to have this around for a long time.

I actually dislike jasmine perfumes. I love the scent of the fresh flower, but usually the fragrances are too floral? Too sharp? I don't know I just usually stay away from Jasmine notes. However I really enjoy this perfume -- I think it is because I am a huge fan of sandalwood. I have realized that most of my fragrances have at least a bit of sandalwood. Especially as a summer scent. It is crisp, but light and refreshing. I layer it with the complementing body milk to increase its staying power.

What it says on the bottle. A simple fragrance with two of my favourite notes, Jasmine and Bergamot. The Bergamot is citrusy and juicy, the jasmine is soft, but fresh. I don’t get any of the other notes mentioned here, no clementine, and the sandlewood only even slightly shows it’s face after 20 mins of dry down. Not hugely long lasting, but a pretty casual fresh fragrance. Perfect for popping to the shops, or going for a lockdown walk ;)

Very lovely composition, jasmine is prominent in the top notes then bergamot steals the show. Very refreshing and perfect for warm spring days when a citrusy cologne would be too light and a floral would be too heavy. Very similar also to Thé Vert au Jasmin which I am told is soon to be discontinued. Quel dommage! But a minor damage now that we have this nice alternative.

So light and refreshing. Beautiful feminine fragrance for summer. Very simple, bright and cheerful, green and citrusy- the jasmine is really well balanced and light. Delightful. Very happy with my puchase. Edit: Reminds me of one of my first perfumes in the 90s that's not available anymore (but less syntheticy) - XS Pour Elle Paco Rabanne. :)

Rather refreshing scent that does not overpower, but alas neither does it stay around long enough. Safe office wear or for a luncheon where you don't want to overpower anyone. 6 hours later can just faintly detect the fresher green notes, none of the jasmine. I sampled it but probably won't buy due to price point.

I'm not usually a fan of jasmine in fragrances (or even citrus, for that matter), although there are the odd few I enjoy (including this one). I pretty much have the same opinion on this as I do L'Occitane's Vanille & Narcisse - it's nice, I have no complaints, but I don't love it enough to buy a full bottle.

Light and lovely jasmine that is not like the common strong jasmine smell. It's simple and so refreshing. I was surprised at how well balanced and rounded the jasmine is. I think it will not offend anyone - even those who doesn't really like jasmine. It's so beautiful.

Bright, hopeful, warm, (emotionally) safe. This scent transports me to a sunny day in mid spring. Still a crispness in the air but rays of the bright sun warm you as you stroll across a lush, green, dewy field. Your nose tingles with the hint of a sunburn.

My 7.5mL has no writing, just the embossed '&', but I'm pretty confident this is the right scent based on the colour and fragrance. Really nice scent, not overpowering, fairly unisex for a floral, but unfortunately has no lasting power.

Lemony, heady jasmine fragrance, pleasant, but there is too much citrus for me. It's also very aromatic and fresh, good for warm season.

Love jasmin and bergamot separately and was excited to try this combination, but ended up disappointed. My issue is not like the others' here that the bergamot dominates, jasmine (in combination with peony which isn't listed) is pretty much all that's left after 10 minutes. The issue is that it opens with a very acidic note, not the acidic fresh citrus but a sour smell. Like rhubarb gone bad. The slightest hint of that sourness stays with it for the next hour or so, after which it turns into a fresh floral jasmin with peony, which isn't listed but it's there. Personally I can't get over the sour spoiled opening and maybe it's 100% on me, a skin chemistry thing. It was a gift so I'll re-gift it, glad I didn't blind buy.

along with Jo Malone's Jasmine and Mint and Estee Lauder's Jasmin and White Moss, this is jasmine for those who don't usually like jasmine... because bergamot goes into overdrive, leaving poor little jasmine behind in the dust- so if you're looking for a big white flower of a scent, look elsewhere-

This is SO bergamot intensive, and the way it sits on my skin brings it towards the aquatic side which means it will turn acidic. I don't get jasmine or flowers, just very crisp, green, bitter, bright citrus. And I'm getting a slight cucumber vibe which is very unusual.

The jasmine is very strong, and very animalic. It kinda punches you in the face, basically. I guess the perfume is technically well made, but you really have to appreciate this "dirty, non-clean girl" type of jasmine.

I got this fragrance for free at an event. Individually, I love the components of the fragrance, but together they make a rather unappealing scent. Perhaps it is too herbaceous for my taste. How unfortunate!

L'Occitane's Jasmin and Bergamote is a fairly straight-forward Spring appropriate scent. I would say that this fragrance is more citrus than floral, although the jasmine is quite a dominant fixture in this composition. I have a feeling that I'll be revisiting this fragrance come Summer as it has this rather appealing icy-cool freshness on the skin. The jasmine accord is clean and feminine, whilst the bergamot and petitgrain provide a green, almost watery aroma. Jasmin and Bergamote is not surprisingly office appropriate and subtle. It's the kind of perfume you'd reach for on warm days when anything lightly scented is appreciated. However with that being said do not assume that this fragrance lacks projection and lasting power. In fact the longevity is great, lasting well over six hours on my rather dry skin. The drydown is comprised of cedar and sandalwood, a rather safe blend of notes that are on the verge of being too predictable. Although well balanced, I would have liked to have seen a touch more complexity in this composition. Nevertheless, Jasmin and Bergamote has been a refreshing addition to the La Collection de Grasse and has proven once again that L'Occitane is capable of making beautiful fragrances.

I was given this fragrance as a gift when I was fourteen, and I wore it almost every day for about three years. For me it will always evoke cold mornings walking into school for quartet rehearsal, past all the well-trimmed hedges and across the blue tennis courts. My navy scarf is on my head and tied twice at the bottom of my chin to give me warmth. My hands are almost frozen solid, my right one more so as it is out of my blazer pocket, holding onto the handle of my violin case. I can’t wear this much anymore in fear I may taint the scent memory I possess of it. But from a quick sniff almost 7 years later, it is just as beautiful I remember. It’s very simple, quite literally just jasmine and bergamot. But cold, rather frigid, and a little wet, as if after a brief morning shower. If you enjoy simple, linear florals I’d give this a try.

Jasmin & Bergamot is quite a nice offering from L'Occitane. The citrus notes are fresh and pair well with the jasmine notes. The jasmine here is not indolic or dirty - rather, it is a clean note here. Very complementary notes, and though not incredibly special, this perfume is appropriate for the spring and summer and can be worn to work or casually. As all other L'Occitane fragrances, not too complicated or fussy, and you don't have to worry about it wearing you. Sillage is medium, and lasting power about 3 hours. The bottle is simple and a bit utilitarian. Price point is moderate when compared to, say, Jo Malone. Overall, a pleasant fragrance that I enjoy, and I would consider trying some of the bath products.

I've purchased this light scent in spring, hoping, that it is going to be a summer fragrance. But it revealed its uplifting nature in autumn. Now bergamote note becomes more intensive and brings a depth into this fragrance. "Jasmine & Bergamote" is light, crispy and refreshing. In Lithuania it also comes in 7,5 ml bottles, which makes it a safe companion for various occasions. Still, this occasional fragrance lacks individuality, though I'm happy with this travel size bottle.

skin test 2024. this one... really different. i think it may be indoles from the jasmine, but this floral is animalic. rounded and deep and that sort of scent. ---the new red door revealed is really similar. could call it poopy?? clean but right up there by the fece of animalic. not dirty. test first though as it could pull funny on your skin. it isnt like the other jasmine scents from this brand. it calmed itself down though and became better. try first. its not bad

This is nice, but to me, not worth the $70 price tag. the bergamot is strong , the jasmine a bit sharp, the scent doesn't develop much, so I wouldn't be willing to pay so much when there are better options out there for fresh green scents. It is fresh, nice but to me wayy overated. I own several shower gels from the brand and they are real nice, but as far as the fragrances are concerned, they don't go beyond nice for me.

I'm not giving this one a rating because it set off a sneezing fit. That's never happened before! I did really enjoy the bright citrus start and the strong jasmine. I just didn't have a chance to see what happened to it, because I had to scub it off! I have an allergy to ragweed and certain trees. I'm very glad I tested this at home instead of in the shop!

I think this will be perfect for those who want a fresh citrusy fragrance for summer. Much nicer (and classier) than Light Blue, for example. I agree with Henriette that 'bergamot steals the show'; I don't find it particularly floral. The truth is however, that, charming as it is, I'd rather have it on my salad than my skin.

I thought I really disliked anything jasmine related until I smelled this. I made a purchase in the L'Occitane store in Paris and the saleslady sprayed some onto the tissue paper she put in the bag. I became OBSESSED and bought a tiny bottle later on. It doesn't last at all, which sucks but it smells like magic to me.

I adore this smell and I am really satisfied with all l'occitane de grass collection perfumes. Any of them really disappointed me. Well done. Want it so badly, but it seems like they are out of market right now...

The new formulation smells very different from when it first came. I had this in 2016 and used it everyday. The new one is less pleasant. It has an animalic touch that I don’t like. So sad about the changes. :((

Fresh, light and not overwhelming. Reminds me of iced jasmine green tea. This isn't indolic or heavy, but gentle and crisp green jasmine with the citrus brightening the notes. Good for work and daytime wear.

Very warm for a citrus type scent in a good way. Be warned though, the jasmine in this is extremely prominent but the bergamote helps it to not be too cloying. A very nice spring/summer fragrance.

I was hoping this perfume could replace my beloved Jasminora which is no longer available but I found it very disapointing. I would have preferred the bergamot to be more zesty.
