Cocktail Appalaches

This smells really, really good off my skin. It's got some booze up top, but mellows out quickly to a almondy-vanilla, little saffron, light tobacco, liquory thing. I think it's fantastic. My only wish is that it was 3x louder, but possibly I'm just going nose blind to it. I smell it close to skin for a long time, but the projection is not strong at all. My girlfriend is really sensitive to fragrances and she didn't say anything about it even after I did 8 sprays of it 10 minutes before we got in my truck. If it were a strong fragrance, she would have let me know, lol. I dont think I would have paid retail for it because of the weak performance, but I got a bottle from Jomashop for $122.00 and at that price I should have gotten a backup.

Well, I can imagine this perfume as luxorious, chic and relaxing coctail party. It has sedictive, cheery vibe, like sipping liquers and enjoying a little flirt... Opening is very gourmand, almondy and sweet. Almost immidiately replaced by strong tobacco. If you are confident enought, this fragrance will suits you. Wait also for the late phases of perfume: perfectly blended, strong in saffron and wood, warm by benzoin. It is extremely comfy and spicy in the some time. L'Orchestre did it again: first class quality, extraordinary performance. This is the perfume I want to wear after well-done job, to enjoy and celebrate a success. Like deserved, expensive coctail...

I agree with the person who said this goes in the direction of silky woods, except for me this has a coconut sandalwood essence. This doesn’t smell boozy at all. This is actually light wearing and a bit airy and a bit powdery. I like this but I’m not wowed. I’ll let my sample sit for a bit and then revisit.

This scent it the perfect match up of fruity and almondy, without the punch you in the face booze. It is there in the initial spray but goes away shortly after (10-15 mins) and turns into a lovely winter or evening out scent. This is a boozed down and yummy scent. I would not mind a bottle in my collection!

In my imagination this is the smell of wide open spaces. A lot of wood, some tobacco and whisky notes and you have the perfect cowboy fragrance You can find some vanilla but it's a bit weak. I would have preferred it to be more balanced, more "soft" Cocktail Appalaches is a very strong fragrance, it won't leave you for hours so you better be sure when you decide to wear it. 4.5/10 (except if you have a ranch it's a solid 9/10)

The main smell is like a sour cedar wood with burnt caramel. It comes off weirdly acrid on my skin. Not my favorite but I can sort of squint and see things I like. 6.4/10

There is a heavy booze note on the opening. It lasts about 10 to 15 minutes and calme down to something that’s reminiscent of narcotic delight. The amaretto accord isn’t as prominent as the cherry and almond nuance in narcotic delight, but there is a touch of that fruitiness. You get a humidity that comes from the sesame, and a nice vanilla base. It’s a decent fragrance, I enjoy the dry down much more than the boozy opening. I’ll be letting my bottle go if anyone is interested.

I picked up a 10ml sample decant from TPG at the start of the year. It is a dark gourmand with this lovely dusky vanilla in the top set against some booze and some spices. It is the sort of gourmand I prefer, even if I do admit, gourmands arent really my thing. It has bags of character first and foremost and is not overly sweet or feminine. The vanilla is the kind I love; straight out of Vanilla Powder Extrait by Matiere or Vanilla Diorama by Dior. Smoky, black and atmospheric. Very cool. I enjoy the booze in this too. It is a peaty scotch and some amaretto but again, not too sweet. The toasted sesame note is straight out of Kedu by Memo if you know that one, which helps stop this from going too sweet. The heart is a rich triple threat of benzoin, tonka and vanilla which pushes this in a sort of lactonic direction that the pipe tobacco accord doesn't fully stop and actually I quite like the effect. It means the overall effect is very unisex, almost masculine leaning I would say, although this could never be work safe or indeed a daytime wear I don't think. the best thing about this is how with so many rich and sweet notes in it, it never goes properly sweet which I think is why I like it. Sweet gourmands for me are a tricky reach, whereas this is much easier to like although I do recognise I am likely in a minority here and I can see why some may not find it sweet enough, especially because of the booziness in the head and heart. For a date night, this is a really strong choice because its 5 hour performance shouldn't be a problem. Layering suggestion: (this one is a doozy) Serge Lutens - Arabie if you can find it for a sensible price. Adding the dates and more spices. Oh yes.... Three Word Summary: Dark Delicious Date Scent - 7/10 Sillage - 7/10 Drydown - 7/10 Bottle/presentation - 8/10 Performance - 5/10 34/50

The first almond fragrance that I find wearable. However I think the almond clashes with the booze and tobacco notes. I am also getting something a little fruity. At the end of the day this would be more enjoyable if it was divided into two different fragrances as I am enjoying the tobacco elements.

this is really cool. like cedar cones.. a raw smokiness and at the same time something a bit gourmand.. god this feels so good, it’s wild and beautiful and there’s really something primal about it.. it immediately makes me think of powwow music and something like that, just pure delight
