Incense, dusty wooden pews, old books, cold stone walls. But then someone apparently knocked over a candle. Thick, black, tarry smoke fills the air. Ash floats everywhere, and there's this sharp, sour, peppery smell of things burning that definitely weren't part of the sermon. Don't worry, though—the whole church hasn't gone up in flames. Maybe it's just a few pews, an old tapestry, and some forgotten tomes. There's still hope. This actually reminds me a bit of Laudano Nero, just without the boozy side and with a little more smoke. Thankfully, the fire eventually burns itself out. After a couple of hours, the charred embers retreat into the background, leaving behind a dark woody fragrance wrapped in ash and resinous amber, with just a gentle trace of incense lingering in the air. This is definitely not blind-buy safe. Unless your friends are hardcore niche lovers, don't expect compliments. Don't be surprised if someone asks, "Can you smell something burning?" If you're thinking, "This church has burned enough for one day," check out Bloody Smoke instead. The two feel like opposite sides of the same coin: Incenso Notturno is midnight; Bloody Smoke is dawn. It keeps the incense and amber but goes in a different direction, replacing the smoke and ash with a cold metallic minerality. Same gothic mood, different disaster. And for the love of all that's holy... there's no need to overspray. This performs exactly like you'd expect from Pazzaglia: loud at first, calmer later, and still hanging around 10+ hours after the service has ended.

The scent projects strongly at first, then becomes a close smoky aura, like a lingering whisper. Sillage is strong yet balanced—noticeable but never overpowering. this doesnt smell like church at all!! this is very realistic black smoke scent. smells like ur standing at night next to a vampire castle that is burning down. woody, incensy but very smokey, almost suffocating u just like real smoke. not very wearable alone but layering will probably make it better.

I really wanted to like Incenso Notturno, but this just doesn’t work for me. It’s sold as unisex, yet on my skin it reads very traditionally masculine — and not in an interesting way. Instead of the rich, smoky incense I was hoping for, I get a muddy cloud of black pepper, patchouli, and some vague resin struggling to breathe under the weight of everything else. There’s a sharp, almost harsh crispness to it that never settles, and it makes the whole experience feel uncomfortable rather than seductive. With a note list this long, I expected depth or surprise, but it ends up smelling like something I’ve encountered hundreds of times before in men’s fragrances. Nothing new, nothing memorable — just loud, familiar, and forgettable.
