Le Jour se Lève

I've had a sample of this one for a while. I've mostly gotten unisex or masculine samples from the Louis Vuitton store, whenever I've bought a full size bottle. I'm up to 20 samples now! I got Matiere Noire, Attrape-Reves, and Rose des Vents, as the first feminine samples, to find one for my fiance, that she loves. I bought Attrape-Reves, but in hindsight, I think Matiere Noire suits her more. We just tried a spray of this, Le Jour Se Leve, over the weekend, and Katie loved it! I forgot that the name just means the dawn, basically, the morning and sunshine and bright, uplifting scents. For some reason, I kept thinking it was more like Tom Ford Beau du Jour, and meant something like "lady of the day" or something like that, and had held that against it. But I might get this one as my next feminine LV fragrance. Then my collection will be complete (for now lol) since I'll have 10 LV bottles, and I'll be able to arrange them like bowling pins, with the one extrait in front, then the two oriental ones behind that, and then the rest. I really want Fleur Du Desert and Les Sables Rose, and Matiere Noire, Symphony, Stellar Times, L'immensite, and so many more lol I'm definitely a frag head!!!

Waking up in Italy, grapefruit orange peel freshness, dewy leaves as you stroll though an intricate rose garden, I love ISO because it makes you open your eyes wide. Years ago for my birthday I stayed in a nice house in Rome. I awoke early to birds chirping, I strolled though the peaceful residential neighborhoods filled with greenery laden with jasmine vines, up the Aventine hill to peek through the Knights of Malta keyhole: The Vatican framed by foliage in the distance, and then to the Giardini dei Aranci (the Orange Garden Rome) where I saw the sun rise over the city as I picked up fallen fruit. I walked down the otherside of the hill and came upon the Rose garden just opening for the day. Dew still on their leaves and petals. 1100 varieties of roses. After the garden, at the bottom of the hill I found a little bakery full of vanilla and sugary delights. Le Jour se Lève is that alluring memory for me.

I reach fir this mostly on the weekends or late in the afternoon during the week. I wouldn't say this is mornings at the office appropriate, just because it is super bright and uplifting. The citrus is predominant in the opening, projecting nicely for about an hour then settling down to a 3 hour clean soapy skin scent. It is beautiful and puts me in a cheerful mood, but too bright for bedtime wear for me. I have to be in a certain mood or want to be in a certain mood to reach for this. IMHO this is a female version of Imagination, packs the same kind of clean soapy punch but with a hint of vanilla and floral. I do feel it is overpriced for the DNA but also underrated in the fragrance community. In the drydown it smells like the soft Spoken daughter of Stellar Times and Imagination. I will refill the bottle when it is done, along woth both Imagination and Stellar Times.

It's not loud, but it's divine. Elegant, simple, luxury in a bottle. Sometimes, I prefer fragrances that leave a trail in the air, rather than become the air you're breathing. Not the type of fragrance to fill a room. I can still smell it on my skin after 4 hours and it sticks to clothing pretty well. I used to live in Rome near that orange grove another reviewer mentioned. Agree, it transports you to Italy; waking up early to the dewy air, walking to the local bakery making fresh citrus juices. There's something pure and ethereal about it. Most people will probably take a pass, but I find it magical and FBW.

I got a sample spray of Le Jour Se Lève and fell in love with it immediately. This is a beautiful summer sunrise in a bottle. Very fresh and light, very elegant. A perfect blend of fruits and florals. The price is high for a perfume that doesn't seem to be long lasting, at least the sample disappeared fast (but maybe because it's a sample). I did get compliments after using the tester. This could easily become my signature scent. I put this on my want list. (This is my 400th review here, maybe I should celebrate it by getting this lovely but pricy fragrance!)

Bright, invigorating citrus scent, "fancied" up with some white florals & rose and sweet vanilla . Spray it in the morning to start your day! Underrated LV scent. I don't understand it when people complain of the sillage & longevity of LV scents, it is so Beast Mode to me. 2-3 sprays will fill a room & last all day. LV fragrances seem pricey for designer scents but seriously, they are so potent and that makes it worth the price.

There are similar qualities to Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle in this one. However, I think this one is so much better. This is less sweet and has a beautiful citrus and slightly green scent that plays against the florals to create one of the my favorite perfumes. It works well as both a daytime/work fragrance and can be worn for a night out or special occasion.

Every time I wear this I get crazy compliments. It's more of a Spring/Summer scent, very fresh, but honestly I wear it to any fancy event I have to attend to regardless of the season. If you're into citrusy scents like Chanel's Eau Tendre, D&G Light Blue, TF Neroli Potofino, etc you would probably like this. It's not for everyone, so don't blind buy!

Even though I can only smell it as something vaguely citric, it smells absolutely amazing! Yet another good LV freshie that I have tested. I like it more than the others I have tested so far because the citric freshness is a bit toned down here. It smells like modest cleanliness of clothes (when sprayed on clothes).

top notes: oranges, sweet, botanical, airy (subtle), feminine middle notes: citrus, fruity, sweet, feminine, clean, powdery base notes: linear from there this is an amazing feminine citrus fragrance. Decent performance too! LV did a great job here and i think its pretty underrated. 9.5/10!!!!

Just got done with my bottle. Not sure why prople are complaining about performance, my bottle had strong juice that lasts forever. It's a lovely feminine smelling freshie, but the refills cost over $200 plus tax now and it's just not worth it. Rather just move on to something else...

Soft, pretty, citric floral w/ fresh green notes. Bright, springy, uplifting. Each time I wear this, I fight the urge to sing aloud while skipping. Evolves prettily w/ all accords remaining in play, no particular one taking center stage. A vivifying sillage to leave behind.

Citrus, yes, but it's primarily a rose fragrance to me. Beautiful and uplifting, this fruity floral has good lasting power. It's sweeter and more feminine than California Dream, with more rose and vanilla than fresh citrus. Absolutely beautiful feminine scent.

I get so much compliments when I wear it and it’s definitely unisex and not at all feminine. Very similar to California dream but a little more depth and greener. One of my top spring and summer scent for sure

It’s an effortless feminine freshie! Just beautiful — like a very elevated and expensive clean citrusy shower gel/shampoo that stays with you for a long time. I love it.

Whoever says it's female! They're wrong. It's beautifully unisex. Fresh! Green! Musky! Fruity!

After a fresh but luxurious mandarin opening, Un Jour se lève unveils a white floral heart, yet still fresh. The fragrance is enhanced with green facets, that you could already detect in the topnotes with a blackcurrant facet, but on skin, the greenness becomes more obvious. Combined with an undefinable floralcy, it clearly evokes this new "wearable green floral" trend you had in Gabrielle in 2017. Well done, Mr Cavallier.

Very green and wearable. Citrus dominant opening as expected from the top notes. This definitely could have been a Chanel Chance flanker. It's pretty but not exactly my style of perfume. I received it as a gift so I wear it occasionally but there's no way I'd buy this for myself. Smells nice though. Given how inoffensive it is it would probably make a great work scent.

This reminds me of a bath and body works scent from 17 yrs ago called basil citrus. Anyway try layering this with victorias secret bare vanilla. it brimgs out the supposed vanilla note in this perfume

This is rather good but certainly does remind me of Hermes’ ‘Le Jardin de Monsieur Li’ that I already have. So being way more expensive, the only benefit here is it last longer?!

I am in love with this. It is similar to Coco Mademoiselle but a better, more improved version in my opinion. The scent is beautiful and sweet, without being too overpowering.

Suuuch a pretty citrus scent! The opening is bright and juicy and befitting of any citrus lover. The dry down is softer and more floral. Its absolutely beautiful on my skin.

Probably the most natural smelling floral this line offers—everything else has something "off" about them on the skin—although it's a bit watery.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport with an additional white floral. Ben from Burning wears this.

This is marketed for women and Afternoon Swim for men, but LJSL is better than AS in every way.

Such a lovely green citrus but it does not last on me! Cannot justify the price bc of that.

While I can imagine many people would enjoy Le Jour Se Leve, unfortunately this isn’t for me. The Black Currant, Osmanthus and Vanilla feel heavier than I like for this scent profile and the Magnolia pulls extremely soapy. It reminds me of an expensive solid bar soap- a fragrance I can enjoy for a few minutes but not for hours on end. If you enjoy soapy scents, you’ll probably love this. I get a few hours of wear time with a more intimate projection. I see California Dream in the ‘Reminds Me’ section; I don’t think these are similar at all. LJSL is a soapy white floral with green nuances, while California Dream is a sweet orange with a touch of warmth from benzoin.

The scent is clean crispy green with mellow floral hints. I love the scent specially for warmer weather but there is no projection at all. Very intimate sillage and it only lasts me 3-4hrs tops (provided that it should be sprayed more than 5x). Im trying to macerate it to 1.5mos, im still on week 3 hoping it will improve *cross fingers*, if not then definitely its a waste of money.

Very simple, quite boring perfume. Faceless. The note list is extensive, yet doesn't create complexity. It's a non-descript citrusy smell soon changed by non-descript floral scent with some common for LV fragrances cheap freshness. Overall, it is easy to wear, but it doesn't distinguish itself from perfumes costing 50 euros or less.

Upon spraying I get a quick burst of the citrus, which quickly dissipates and then the clean floral notes come in midway. After wearing it for a couple of hours, I smell the clean floral notes and a subtle vanilla note and ISO E in the dry down. It’s an easy wear as it’s inoffensive and perfect for Spring, Summer.

This is a pleasant, extremely generic, fresh, green, floral scent. It's practically indistinguishable from a generic designer fragrance that you could buy for $50. For the price, I do not recommend it. I think if you're paying luxury prices, you should get something distinct and special...this is not it.

I know it says lily is the top note, but all I get is a smooth, feminine rose. It actually feels like a mildly more expensive-smelling version of Diptyque Eau Rose to me!

It was just OK for me. I was hoping that this would be a beauty, but shamefully it didn't go anywhere near that. Sad.

This is straight up mandarin orange on me, and it stays the same throughout. Not a fan.

I received a tiny bottle of this fragrance when I made a purchase at a louis vuitton store. First of all I must admit I usually dislike citrussy scents and this one is no different. I'm surprised lemon isn't listed in the notes as that is all I get. At first spray it smells just like a lemon being cut open. Like a literal lemon. Not lemon toilet cleaner which is usually my issue with citrus in fragrance, but just a lemon. I sprayed it on both wrists about 2 hours ago and it's practically gone. I wish i got some of the vanilla or rose but no what's left is a barely there skin scent with a hint of fresh lemon. I definitely see my old greek art teacher wearing this fragrance on her holidays in greece and if I smellt it on someone like her I'd say it suits them. The price however is in no way justifiable. In no way. I also have no idea where all the Coco Mademoiselle comparisons are coming from. Completely different animal from notes to longevity and even the price. Sadly a hard pass for me.

Very disappointed with this new fragrance. Not much character and too mainstream. Feel they created this purely aim for Far East market.

I can only detect this for seconds before it disappears completely.

The top notes here only lasts for a minute then it develops into something like a sweet green dew in the morning, imagine the scent of water dripping from the flowers and leaves in the morning this is what it smells like all throughout with lily of the valley sweet green which instantly reminds me of H24 by Hermes but Le Jour se Lève smells like the cold leaves in a morning sunrise while H24 smells like when the sun hits your clothes after sunrise. Disregard the top notes here for it will not last a minute. There is no patchouli here that will remind you of Coco Mademoiselle, MFK A La Rose is much closer but imagine A La Rose as the rose while this is the rose leaf. Every note here just supports the heart which is lily of the valley, if you have ever encountered Fleuriste A Paris by Zara the similarities are 95%. Another thing which is this similar to is Replica's Lazy Sunday Morning.

Just sprayed this fragrance, so I'm giving my review right here & now. By the way, I have Escentric Molecules 01 enhancer on to extend this fragrance. I'm starting to smell more floral notes, but am getting citrus as well. This would be great for spring/summer. I like that there's no rose. Am so sick of rose in every light floral. This has that quality though—the fresh, floral hype. You know what came to mind? MFK's A La Rose. They must have similar notes aside from the rose. This is a master blend. You can't smell one note—it's all blended beautifully together in a cohesive manner.

I love the opening of this scent, so fresh and elegant. The burst of citrus followed by a mix of floral notes is extremely pleasant. Unfortunately it evolves and becomes similar to what would be a love child of Chanel Chance and Nina ricci L'air du temps...and continues to morph into a bland soapy floral scent that really doesn't justify the hefty price. I would use it if received as a gift but I can't see myself buying a full bottle of this. I would buy a Guerlain for this kind of money not this bland water.

I received a sample with a completely different perfume order and god bless that seller! It is a beautiful burst of orange citrus with a sophistication not often found in citrus dominant fragrances. The lily of the valley and green notes really complete this stunner and the dry down is a comforting cashmere flower. Adore it. But it is not only hard to find, it is crazy expensive.

I just got this from a friend that I smelled it on a week ago and liked it so she said she'll give me her travel size bottle. I have to say that the opening is too citrusy for me, but I like that dry down and base notes which is what I actually smelled on my friend in the first place. It was around 7pm and she said she sprayed it on in the morning. I don't really get vanilla in the base, and that's great because I don't like it in perfumes, just in cakes 😁

This is a very elegant summer scent, that still manages to be fun. Like watching the sunrise from your hotel balcony on vacation. The main note is grapefruit, which I appreciate since it has some bitterness to it. However, the scent is very light and doesn't project very far, so its performance doesn't mirror its price point. Overall, I adore the scent but don't know if it's worth your money.

This is one of my favourite perfumes in my collection, I just love that initial incredibly realistic mandarin citrus outburst which then settles to a gently white floral accord. This has a similar start to California Dreams, but that dries down to a musky scent, whereas Le Jour se Leve dries down into white florals, so I can understand the comparison.

Great fragrance to start the day. The queen of this composition is the Lily of the Valley, and to court her, Cavalier uses a osmanthus-citrus accord paired with a mouthwatering blackcurrant. To seal the perfume, there's a hint of jasmine and some bulgarian roses. As Leonardo da Vinci once said: Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

If I had to choose only one citrus scent, it would absolutely be this one. The fragrance is effortlessly classy ,airy and light, yet undeniably sophisticated. It has that perfect “put-together” vibe, always makes me feel ready to take on the day. A true standout in the citrus world, with an elegance that never feels overdone.

Very fresh and calming i smell citrus, blackcurrant in the top, jasmine in the middle and musk in the dry down, I like this because is not over powering vanilla which usually make me feel faint after smell. but performance is poor for high level designer perfume as LV . scent : 8/10 Sillage : 7/10 performance: 6/10

I was told by my LV SA that the rumors about men's LV fragrances are completely false. He said this release is the most unisex one they're coming out with, and maybe that "unisex" tag is what got the men's fragrance rumors swirling. Well, we can now put those rumors to bed

Gorgeous Osmanthus sprayed with juice from bursting ripe orange.Nice unisex fresh.It’s feminine but my husband smells awesome when he wears it.Easily recognizable.Stays around 12 hours.Mine is macerated.One of the first releases.
