Louis Vuitton Météore – A Fragrance for Those Who Remember I must admit that I was hesitant about purchasing Louis Vuitton Météore. Like many fragrance enthusiasts, I initially viewed it as another expensive fresh fragrance in an already overcrowded market. After all, my collection already contains some excellent warm-weather options: Louis Vuitton Imagination, Bvlgari Tygar, Dior Homme Sport, Dior Higher, Dior Higher Energy, Escale à Portofino, Hermès H24, Hermès H24 Herbes Vives and Loewe 5. The question was simple: did I really need another fresh fragrance? The answer turned out to be yes. What I discovered after wearing Météore was not simply another citrus-ambroxan fragrance, but something far more interesting. Within minutes of applying it, I found myself transported back to the golden age of men's perfumery in the 1990s. What struck me immediately were unmistakable echoes of several fragrances that defined an entire generation. The first and perhaps strongest association was Paco by Paco Rabanne (1995), with its aromatic Mediterranean freshness, citrus brightness and effortless masculine character. Then came memories of Issey Miyake Pour Homme (1994), particularly its sparkling citrus opening and transparent aquatic freshness. There are also shades of Davidoff Cool Water, especially in its clean, confident masculine freshness, and finally traces of CK One, whose fresh citrus-musky character helped redefine modern perfumery in the mid-1990s. The common thread running through all of these fragrances was a distinctly masculine interpretation of freshness. Paco brought aromatic citrus freshness and Mediterranean ease. Issey Miyake Pour Homme introduced yuzu, airy aquatic notes and Japanese minimalism. Cool Water delivered lavender, mint, green notes and marine freshness with confidence. CK One offered citrus, green tea, musk and a casual modernity that changed the industry. Together they created a new language of masculine perfumery that moved away from the loud powerhouses of the 1980s and towards something cleaner, fresher and more versatile. This is precisely where Météore succeeds. Many younger reviewers dismiss Météore as an unoriginal "blue fragrance" because they evaluate it against today's market. I believe they are missing the point entirely. To anyone who actually wore fragrances during the 1990s, Météore feels less like another modern fresh scent and more like a sophisticated tribute to the era that shaped contemporary masculine perfumery. Jacques Cavallier, one of the great perfumers of our time, clearly understands this heritage. While Météore is undeniably modern in construction and quality, it contains familiar echoes of the fragrances that helped define men's perfumery thirty years ago. These are not copies. They are fragments of memory, subtle references and lingering accords that immediately resonate with those who experienced the originals. What makes Météore particularly impressive is that despite owning numerous fresh fragrances, I found it occupies a unique position in my collection. Imagination is elegant, airy and almost dreamlike. Tygar is luxurious, modern and grapefruit-driven. Hermès H24 is futuristic and metallic. Dior Homme Sport is sporty and energetic. Escale à Portofino is Mediterranean and cologne-like. But none of them truly recreate the feeling of what masculine freshness smelled like during the mid-1990s. Météore does. That is why it surprised me. I did not buy it because I needed another fresh fragrance. I bought it because it offered something none of my other fragrances could provide: a direct connection to the DNA of the great masculine fresh fragrances that defined an era. For me, Météore has more character than Imagination. While Imagination is beautiful, relaxing and perfect for a luxury summer holiday, Météore feels more masculine, more grounded and more versatile. It projects confidence without trying too hard. It feels equally appropriate in an office, on a summer evening, at a business meeting or on holiday. What impressed me most is that Météore manages to be both nostalgic and contemporary at the same time. It respects the past without becoming a vintage recreation. It takes the spirit of Paco, Issey Miyake Pour Homme, Cool Water and CK One and reinterprets it through the lens of modern luxury perfumery. The younger generation may see Météore as just another fresh fragrance. Those of us who experienced the 1990s will recognise something else entirely. We will recognise the unmistakable DNA of an era when masculine freshness was being reinvented, and we will appreciate how brilliantly Jacques Cavallier has captured that spirit once again.

God this is so, so good. It is one of the best done fresh citrus fragrances I've come across. The opening is a citrus blend that isnt dominated by one note. I've never liked the heavy cucumber accord in Pacific Chill or fragrances that are just lemony top notes that remind me of wet wipes. The freshies I like tend to be the ones that mix the citrus fresh notes in the top so they arent one, but a blend that works with the floral or creamy mids. I've always thought Blue Talisman does that well. Meteore does it amazingly. You cannot distinguish the oranges, lemon or bergamot as they are blended superbly together. It's fresh, enticing but not cloying or evocative of a split juice box. The neroli in the mids does a lot of the heavy lifting to stop this from going too sweet and the spices - cardamom and nutmeg, a dash of pink pepper on the end of your nose - are there to modify and widen, not to sit distinct on their own. The departure here, and what sets Meteore apart from other freshies, is the fact that there isn't a leathery bottom note. There are no woods here. The bottom is anchored with the loveliest vetiver accord you can imagine and the result is something truly beautiful. It doesnt lack depth or richness, it is just not the usual kind. This isn't a complicated fragrance, but it is done absolutely beautifully. The drydown is, for want of a better word, stunning. The freshness stays but the floral neroli starts to dominate the vetiver slightly in a creamy way that evokes sun-kissed days and suncream on salty skin. It doesn't go sweeter but starts to powderise a little and is really beautiful when it does. It reminds me a little of a coastal town somewhere tropical, when the sun starts to set and the air stays warm and sweet. I was walking round Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays earlier today with my family, wandering through the park in the warm evening air, smelling the native holly and beach gardenia as the sun was going down. The perfume/vista/vibe combo was completely absorbing. I was quite taken aback. Isnt it wonderful when you find that the fragrance you are wearing just is exactly right for the time and place you are in? You don't intend it, but it happens and the way it matches almost takes your breath away? Performance is decent for a freshie, so 5-6 hours before it is a skin scent, but that is okay with me as profiles like this cannot be expected to last like Ombre Nomade does. It projects in a polite, non-intrusive way but the way it settles in as a rich, slightly creamy, floral skin scent is something you have to experience. God, it is gorgeous. Anyone; man, woman, neither etc could wear this with absolutely anything, at any point, for any occasion, with any clothing outfit you could imagine, or indeed, wearing nothing at all. I've got a lot of love for Meteore because I believe it will, from today, always remind me of an evening walk in a paradise beach town in the hot summer air with two members of my family that I love very, very dearly but do not see enough of because they live so far away. These are the moments that elevate perfumery to something that speaks to our souls. Meteore speaks to mine now. Fragrance Review: Cool, sweet, and tangy with streaks of bitterness and spice, falling into the citrus aromatic family. The opening accord is distinctly citrus. The first note to unfold—forming the main structure of the fragrance—is mandarin orange. It begins with a cool, clean, and sweet burst of mandarin intertwined with the tart aroma and green nuances of bergamot. Alongside the citrus notes, a lemony, slightly soapy touch of citral appears as a supporting note, adding depth to the citrus accord. Neroli is beautifully woven into the heart of this accord, polishing the notes and infusing its aromatic green character to enhance the sense of freshness and clarity. The middle accord turns spicy, dominated by a peppery note. In the background of Météore, one can detect pepper, a hint of nutmeg, and very subtle traces of cardamom. With their spicy, warm, and slightly sweet profile, these notes balance the citrus tones and create an indescribable aura with a subtle fougère-like illusion. A pleasant contrast flows between the coolness of the citrus and the warmth of the spices—though the citrus remains noticeably dominant. The perfumer masterfully blends the primary citrus accord and the supporting spicy background with a delicate woody layer—slightly green (reminiscent of grapefruit peel), somewhat earthy, mildly smoky, and dusty—derived from vetiver, along with the velvety, ambery, cedar-like aroma of Iso E Super. This fusion reaches its peak beauty in the base notes. The combination of vetiver and Iso E Super, both sharing a woody character, serves as the perfumer’s ace in completing the olfactory feast in the base. Some may initially detect similarities to Percival by Parfums de Marly, CK One by Calvin Klein, or Platinum Égoïste by Chanel, and consider it a modernized version of these options. While superficial similarities may appear at first, Météore possesses greater structural depth. As time passes, the differences and its evolving character become more evident, and most importantly, the quality and clarity of its notes stand a level above. The citrus materials used in this fragrance are in no way comparable to those found in creations by Marly and similar brands. The quality of the Iso E Super and cashmeran employed by Louis Vuitton—often a hidden signature in many of the house’s fresh and soft creations—cannot be compared with the versions used by trend-driven brands.

Yes, you are buying the brand with this. Yes, that's all right, and I did the same. Others mention this isn't ground breaking, and that's far from a lie, just the approach I see taken when talking about this part of buying any LV - let alone Meteore now - is what I don't usually agree with. Branding is a huge part of anything, the brand exclusivity (along with price tag) of course make this more desirable. The whole shopping experience, engraving, simple beauty of the packaging, quality of the glass even in its simplicity, magnetic cap, atomizer, then refilling (that works) a scent - in no particular order there - that smells fantastic is what you get for buying LV. I'm a fan of the brand, of course, but Meteore was one that grew on me cautiously. Took me 3x 2ml samples to decide where my head was at, and actually wearing it on a trip almost everyday made me conclude I needed a bottle. I don't say this about all fragrances I love, and I don't have a bottle of everything I've enjoyed - there HAS to be some level of wearability for a full bottle, at least to me. Meteore has fantastic versatility and likeability, without enduring sweetness or anything that actually screams to any extreme (oud, woodiness, spices, booze, or whatever). It excels at nothing, suffers from no angle, but is such a fantastic tool for honestly any guy, any age, if you want to afford the elevated price tag. This is the cleanest smelling LV, and even beats Imagination at its soapy game. Smells of luxury, but silent luxury. Wear it to work, to a flight, to the gym, to a date, to get groceries, to church, after showering, or damn it even wear it to bed for a clean and relaxing sensation. NO ONE will complain, and likely no one will compliment you - this is familiar, comfortable, but it's not one to get attention, not because it doesn't perform, quite contrary to that it does perform very well, but because it blends with your atmosphere and aura. I'm excited about this one, and super passionate about it. It was an LV that I was converted to and now I love it. Give it some actually wearing before denying it, just might happen to you what did to me. Nothing complex, just a fantastic tool!

One of my favorites. If you like citrusy freshies this is one of the best imo. I luuuuv orange/mandarin and this is an orange bomb to my nose, and in the best possible way. That tiny bit of pepper and vetiver really set off that orange vibe. So nice. Good projection and longevity. Not safe for blind buy tho at that price point! So make sure you test it on skin for a day, as you always should with any fragrance! As far as the hate this gets, it’s normally from the Imagination glazers, and I’m not sure why bc I love both fragrances but everyone’s nose is different! Both are nice and citrusy, so it just depends on what u like. If u like citron over orange, go with imagination. And if u like orange/mandarin go with meteore. They both are excellent imo. Edit: 3.1.2026 I'm starting to understand the dryer sheet accusations now, but I happen to like dryer sheets, and I think that's the whole difference. A lot of people write this off as just another cheap freshie. But that metallic sharpness, that peppery bite, is exactly what gives Météore its expensive, high-class edge for me. It's not a flaw, it's the point. The best way I can describe it: if Imagination is a relaxing, breezy fresh tea scent, Météore is an F1 driver in a bottle. Loud, expensive, rubbery and metallic, but wrapped in fresh citrus in the most grown-up way possible. The citrus blend is seamless, and that sharp pepper pop against the subtle vetiver drydown is phenomenal on my skin. I don't get much cardamom at all, but I suspect it's lurking in the background just enough to round out the edges. It does its job quietly. Overall, this is a beautiful fragrance and a genuinely polarizing one. You either love it or you think it's overpriced dryer sheets. For me, it's always an easy reach.

This scent is absolutely fantastic. I mean, its a freshie, so it cant really be bad. I personally lean heavily to gourmands, just because most freshies dont do it for me. I dont like emphasized citrus. This scent however, although the main notes are citrus, it just smells like clean to me. Yea I get citrus, but I also get an almost metallic smell? I think its from the mix of neroli and pepper. I love that smell. Some people say it smells a bit like latex, which sure I guess I could say it does? But for some reason I love it. To me, I think the "latex" smell comes off as more "peppery" than "latex". Thats why I like it I think. Imagine this, slightly metallic, slightly pepper/latex, mixed with citrus. It is really really good. Works any time of the day, as it is just clean. I will say, Imagination is the more mass appealing version of this. Meteore certainly wont work for some people as theyll find the latex smell too much. However, on the flip side, I would say that Meteore is much more mature than imagination is. For me imagination smelled a little to citrusy/playful. I wouldnt put it exactly in the "office mature" category. You can certainly wear it there, but Meteore is scientifically more mature for that kind of setting. But even young people can pull it off. Its just a mature clean scent. Performance is fine. I would say imagine your average freshie + 20% better performance. But no its not LONG LASTING by any means. But yea it will probably get through 70% of your day which is enough to be honest. If youre wearing this scent youre not trying to turn heads anyway.

Got a sample from an LV CA and used it over a few days. It's a nice profile; definitely could be worn for any occasion, but on my skin it doesn't really last and I do pick up the rubber balloon note somewhere. This seems to be a very skin chemistry-dependent perfume... for the right person this probably one of the best freshies out there. To paint a picture of this scent, it's what I'd imagine the inside of a retro-futurist flying car or private jet smells like. Think the plane that flies Mr Incredible out to the island for the first time. Modern, immaculately clean, fairly metallic. EDIT 2026-03-13 - I wore that sample after a month for a couple of days and somehow it grew on me. Maybe because it is warmer, or I sprayed a little differently, but it was much less rubber balloony and I imagine this is what the perfume should really smell like. Updated my rating below because it's now way better. I hear that LV fragrances grow on you over time if you didn't like them originally, maybe it's true? Clean, fresh, ethereal. Same structure as LV Imagination, but with different notes. Orange at the forefront, and vetiver supporting it through the base. Your white florals are added to give it some elegance, and it’s lightly spiced to add mystique and keep it from going in a powdery direction. Smells like the cleanest guy in the room. It’s not a beast, but performance was good across the table for me. I love it, and will be picking up a bottle soon. —Aside Météore gets downvotes...why? Stop confusing smelling good with smelling basic. You’re nuts if you think this is in the same league as a ‘Sauvage’ down to it being mass-appealingly wearable in the same way. It’s not hard to pick apart the superior execution and quality in all the LV fragrances. Sorry, but when I spend $300 it’s not to smell like the underneath of a couch cushion. Not everything needs to be a work of artistic expression. Price be damned, if this were accurately rated, it would clear 4.30 any day. The snobs came out to play.

TL;DR: Louis Vuitton Meteore is a fragrance with common scent notes done in a professional and standout way. This is a scent for someone that gets things done and isn’t afraid of the hard work that comes with it. Rating: 5/5 Review: I bought this fragrance for my birthday and it was well worth the money. This scent is truly a standout among the other LV fragrances and fragrances in general. To my nose the opening reminds me of Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme but blended a lot better. They both have a similar orange citrus and powdery/soapy freshness, but that is where the similarities do a hard stop. The pepper and spice notes are what truly take this scent into different world and make it a beast of a fragrance. Are there other fragrances that do this? Yes, but this is one of the few times when I can honestly say there is a difference in craftsmanship and it shows. The notes are blended so well that transition between the opening, mid, and base notes are seamless.

Those early moments carry a mass-market familiarity that can call to mind fragrances such as PdM Percival, Montblanc Legend, or A&F Fierce, but those likenesses evaporate within twenty minutes as the composition shifts away from obvious comparisons. As it dries down, Météore becomes creamy to my nose, evoking a high-end lotion vibe. That creamy phase dominates the heart, and leads into a persistent green note that lasts through the base. It is green in the sense of a freshly snapped twig or a crushed green leaf: sharp, vegetal, and slightly sap-like. I can see how others might describe that facet as latexy, but I smell it as a natural green accord that defines the fragrance’s final character. The latter dry down creates a more mature experience that sets Météore apart from its opening, mass-appealing stage. I enjoyed it enough to pick up a bottle.

The sample I got last year really didnt ring any bells for me. It was generic and bland to me, yet somehow I find this at the number one spot in my collection as a full bottle a year later. It is a clean, masculine spicy freshie which has a calming element to it. It smells like a soapy clean, tidy CEO. I really dont get much citrus but I do get pepper, neroli, and vetiver. There is a SLIGHT element of latex gloves/baby wipes but its not intrusive or the dominant profile. Something I also realised is that whilst it has the feeling of something that is generic, I cant name a single fragrance it smells super close to. It certainly has some similarities to Dior Sauvage and maybe Bleu de Chanel but it honestly feels like it does its own thing. Pros: - Addictive smell - Compliments - Easy reach - Long lasting and heavy projection Cons: - Latex / baby wipe undertone - Not particularly unique at first sniff Overall: 9.8/10

Holy sh*t. I bought Imagination with a sample of this. Honestly, I'm going to have to pick this up too. Meteore treats us all with deep, uplifting, invigorating pepper... And supreme freshness from outer space. The quality is OUTSTANDING. Cyberpunk / Johnny Silverhand vibes. Velvety but sparkling. Slight mysterious aura. This is exclusive and very nostalgic to me. Someone wrote that it "cuts through the cold and wind like a knife" and I agree. It does this because it has a chill of its own... Sheesh! Then the longevity is crazy. Not many frags maintain their FULL essence 6 hours in. I also read someone calling this 'alchemy' and that's accurate as well. This is an illusory freshie. I truly can't tell if it's citrus or spicy or soapy. Edit: I finally got a bottle and it is just as meteoric as my sample. 11/10

so i smelled imagination and thought "this is kinda ass'... let it dry down "oh ok i kinda get it"... it was soapy and all that but still chill. smelled more like i just forgot to rinse the soap off my skin after a shower. i was underwhelmed after all the hype on imagination. but then i smelled meteore straight out the atomizer and HOLY SHIT... ts is good asf. Smelled the drydown and oh my lord. this is actually good. meteore smells ACTUALLY clean. like i showered and put lotion on type of vibe. the vetiver and citruses really help it give off a real lotion scent. reminds me of the BVLGARI EDT i had as a kid. and also sort of gives the Christian Dior LUCKY type of clean when i had it growing up as well. overall i like smelling like i'm freshly showered on the daily and this really does the job.

Meteore is a versatile everyday, season wearable unique blue fragrance. It's sweet, fresh, woody, and undeniably floral. It's similar to a YSL myslf but radiates more masculine rather than feminine since it replaces orange blossom with neroli. I love this fragrance and I smelled all of the LVs at store. I was originally going to go with Pacific Chill but they had no stock then Second choice was city of stars also had no stock. So this was my third choice from already having imagination, it definitely lasts a good amount of hours, projection is average. 9/10. Very Fresh and Special in my opinion, I wonder if Double Bonus from game of spades or shiyaaka snow smell anything close to this ?

So I got the LV decants of On The Beach, Imagination, Pacific Chill, Afternoon Swim, and Meteore. Out of the fragrances that I have tried from the aforementioned mini collection, this is by far the easiest for me to recommend and Blind-buy for my non-fragrance hobbyist friends and family. This smells like a creamy orange ice cream to me, which mellows down into the sweet, nutty, citrusy, earthy note that's absolutely pleasant and amazing. Out of all of these fragrances, I think this is the quintessential summer fragrance that probably any man can rock. Definitely an easy buy, and great recommendation. It doesn't last as long as Pacific Chill or imagination for me though. 7.5/10

My first designer purchase that wasn't a gift and I actually constantly wear, as I don't count BDC which was gifted and D&G Pour Homme as I never wear it. Such an amazing buy and it really is such an easy reach to feel super clean with just a touch of spice to it. I understand where the "baby wipes" scent can come from but it has never really come off to me that way or at least smells different on my skin with a slightly more citrusy and spicy appeal to lean away from that baby wipes scent. Yeah it's overpriced and there's dupes out there, but I really have no regrets and just love wearing Meteore when I do as it lasts and is such a pleasant scent on the nose.

Absolutely amazing fragrance! I got Meteore about a few months ago and I can safely say it is my favorite freshie. Meteore is one of those fragrances where you can wear it anytime and anywhere. While I would say it prevails in warmer weather I genuinely have worn this fragrance all winter and I get plenty of compliments. My one suggestion is to not overspray as it could smell a bit like latex. However, this never happens and as long as you use common sense with your application this fragrance will be the best thing you have ever smelt. I own both Imagination and Meteore and I can safely say for everyday wear I will be picking up Meteore everytime!

I didn’t like it at first, but on the second try — once it dried down — it smelled amazing. It’s like Imagination with a twist. If you love Imagination, you’ll probably love Météore, and I think it works the other way around too. Basically a neroli‐driven scent, but with more character than Imagination — which can be either good or bad depending on how you want your fragrance to behave. It also leans slightly more masculine than Imagination, thanks to its sharper structure and added depth. - Imagination = transparent, breezy, easy - Météore = more structure, more layers, more personality I love both, but I ended up choosing Imagination.

I went to the local Louis Vuitton boutique and tried a few testers on New Year’s Eve,I’ve got imagination which I love and l’immensite is exceptional but Météore is top tier I sprayed it on back of one hand to test and sur la rou on the other other for comparison and it was still a skin scent after 24 hours not even summer so can imagine it being god tier then . My daughter is in love with smell also no dupe will come close to the complexity of this there’s a reason why these are rated highly it’s cos of the dry down they go to another level. Will be getting a full bottle as soon as possible

I just love it. i understand the disappointment in terms of not being unique - i suppose there's only so many ways you can achieve a bright/citrus scent. But out of all of my fragrances - there have been two that have actually brightened my spirits due to their uplifting aura: Etat Libre D'orange Cologe - and this. And while $265 is a kick in the cock for a fragrance, the uplifting nature makes me a masochist. Im a big old middle aged country boy who drives a big truck - yet here i am gushing over louis vuitton's summer dandy. The world is going crazy. 7/10
