Sun Song

Sun Song is a fragrance I picked up alongside Cactus Garden when I was grabbing some discontinued Louis Vuitton fragrances. Cactus Garden was a bit of a let down to me; not because it was a bad fragrance, but because the scent profile didn't really resonate with me. I'm hoping that Sun Song can be the redemption arc in this story. Let's get into it; Scent: The opening is citrusy, floral, and musky. There's only three notes listed; Citron, Orange Blossom, and Musk, and each one is easily noticeable. The strongest of the notes are the citron and orange blossom. The citron takes center stage with a bright, rindy, and dry citrus note. Think lemon, but drier and rindier. Following closely behind is the orange blossom with a distinct white floral tone tinged with the unmistakeable aroma of sweet and juicy orange. Lastly, the musk note rounds out the opening with a fresh, airy, and clean accord that reminds me a bit of clean laundry. The dry down is still citrusy, musky, and floral, and obviously the primary notes are still the same. The primary difference in the dry down is that the orange blossom has faded a bit to let the citron and musk be the strongest notes. The citron has the same accord from the opening, no change there. The musk has become more noticeable in the dry down with the same clean laundry accord. It reminds me a bit of the clean laundry accord I get from LV Meteore, just dialed back a bit. Lastly, the orange blossom is still giving white floral tones in the background but doesn't have the same orange note from the opening. Performance: Initial projection is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was about 3 feet and the scent trail had died down a bit but was still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 6-7 hour mark. When to wear: Sun Song is a spring/summer fragrance most suited for daytime wear. Versatility is high; this can be a casual or formal wearing fragrance, and would be appropriate for casual settings, office wear, or formal occasions. Since it's a daytime fragrance, this isn't what I would pick for a night out or a date night. Blind buy: If you like citrus forward fragrances with added musk, this is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: Sun Song walked a fine line between unisex and feminine leaning, but in the end didn't stray quite far enough into the ladies zone for me to rule it out. The scent profile was surprisingly pleasant. On first spray I thought it would be too floral for me to enjoy, but the longer I had it on the more it grew on me. Performance wasn't as strong as some other LV's I've tried, but with it being such a fresh and citrusy scent profile I was happy with the 6-7 hours I got out of it. Versatility and mass appeal are high for this fragrance, helping to make up for the average performance. All things considered I think it's a great fragrance, but probably not something I'm going to pick up a full bottle of. If it were still being produced and priced the same as the other LV fragrances I would consider it, but with it being discontinued I can't justify spending the inflated amounts to grab it. Which is unfortunate because I don't have anything else like it in my collection. I'll just have to enjoy my decant sparingly. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10

Bought a bottle of this one as I needed some happy orange blossom for my collection. Incredible, juicy, tart, sweet, happy, fizzy like cool lemonade. Longevity is very good on it. Sillage is 1,5-2meters and it projects like crazy for first 3-4 hours. I love using it and was dozing myself in it for the last week. Ended up getting a large size bottle just because it is too good. Don't expect it to be Mancera/Montale performance and cloyingness though. If you want Mancera, simply buy Mancera. Also there is no point of comparing back and forth, with what is the next closest dupe to it. I tried all tom fords and this is still different, more juicy and effervescent. And I still take this over all Fords and Neroli Bohemes on any given day. From what I can tell so far, playing with other samples of this house, the quality of the blend is their focal point. How it's done is stunning, how it wears is really good. This collection puts smile on your face and people around you. The only thing comes in mind is summer in a bottle when you try them. And also the more you wear it more it grows on you. Same as cactus garden. Really enjoying this new collection.

Easy, elemental, sun-warmed citrus. Sun Song is pure, bright, and lemony, with a gorgeously smooth undertone of warm, pulpy woodiness, like the soft rind of a freshly peeled orange. The orange blossom and musk very subtly soften the dominant zestiness of the citrus accord, like a gauzy filter dialed way down. It's a very minimalist fragrance, but I can't help but find it kind of sublime. It's natural, effortless, and deeply pleasurable in an almost visceral way: Sunlight glowing through a beach blanket as you shake it aloft. The low hum of your heat-soaked skin in the car on the way home. Standing in your comparatively dim kitchen with a dusting of beach sand still clinging to your feet, drinking cold water from an earthenware jug.

Sun Song is the absolute epitome of a simple fragrance done absolutely beautifully. Bright, tangy, musky, ever so slightly floral. (Ironically) when the sun hits your skin as you’re wearing this, it absolutely sings. Does this have a mind boggling complex scent profile? No. Does this shift dramatically on skin from opening to dry down? Not particularly. This fragrance doesn’t need to be any of that. It’s an incredible simplistic fragrance that seems timeless every time I throw it on. A true shame this one was discontinued.

Pure orange blossom of finest quality, with just a zest of lemon/yuzu. Fantastic intesity and longevity, way ahead of the TF or Chanel dedicated juices. The number one of the 3 L.A.'s, and to me #1 of the entire LV production (I have tried all and bought most of their juices)... never get tired of this one, soon ready for a second refill of 200 ml. How can they make such a great perfume, with so simple ingredients ? Pure Magic !

mmcdonald36 - seems to be going around to all of these fragrances and is also misinformed. These are not cologne - they are inspired by cologne and are actually EDP concentration. They are all very powerful and last all day and night on me. Just to clarify - no need to go and downvote things and potentially ruin a good buy for someone when you don't even have the information right.

Elegant fragrance due to its simplicity and quality. TIP: Last week I went to buy Louis Vuitton bag for my 50th birthday, and at the moment of registering it, the lady noticed that it was my birthday that same day and she gave me a box with 5 samples of their perfumes: 2x Coeur batant, 1x Cactus garden and 1x Sun song, as a present. Such an unexpected and lovely surprise!

Wow what an amazing scent, I can’t see how anyone can hate this, it’s so uplifting and makes you happy and just feel clean and put together. Think Tom ford Nero portfolio but creamier and more citrus and musk added. It last forever on my skin which is shocking and has a really nice scent trail

If you're tired of Dolce and Gabanna's "light blue" give this a try! This reminds me of Theirry Mugler's "cologne" and "Ecla't de Aprege" by Lanvin. Citron is powerful at first touch in hand with the Orange Blossom. However the musk ties it together making this more fit for summer or spring!

A name truly befitting of the fragrance. Though sadly discontinued, this scratches a deep itch in my soul. A smell of utter happiness and contentment, igniting memories of a magical summer experienced in another life, or perhaps in a dream. Iridescent, citrusy sunshine in a bottle.

Sun Song is aptly named. Bright, sunny, fresh, light, summery, creamy orange blossom. 💛 love it. easy to wear in heat. Beautifully done. Lasts 6 hrs. spendy af. I did buy the Thalia Sodi Liquid Sun and can confirm it is a really close dupe, but Sun Song Louis Vuitton lasts longer.

Why the heck would LV discontinued this Gem? First time I smelled this juice was in the mall when a dude walked by me; there and then I went to grab a bottle asap. If I had known back then it'd get discontinued, I would've gotten myself 6 bottles as back-ups. Very sad 😔

This fragrance is my FAVORITE from LV. This is a citrus floral fragrance and while its not as realistic in terms of citrus compared to Afternoon Swim, this fragrance smells so addicting. It smells like a soapy fresh lemonade in the best way possible.

Beautiful bright citrus fragrance, simple but not boring. Slightly similar to other LV freshies like Symphony or Pacific Chill. Not the best from LV but it makes the top 5 for me. If it’s still around, it can be a contender to be the most popular.

Love this and of course, LV discontinues it. Lots of compliments for a bright, warm weather scent. Excellent performance. Anyone willing to part with a bottle or two?

My mom hates this fragrance but I love it. It smells like happiness to me. Still, way too overpriced. The samples even cost $17.

I've been looking for this perfume like a hopeless person, I am glad LV will bring it back.

This is a bright, fresh, and clean fragrance. It smells like you've put on your clothes two minutes after taking them out of the dryer. The name, yellow bottle and box presentations are spot-on; it really does smell bright and fresh. The only reason I 'liked' the fragrance rather than 'loved' is that there is a bit of tartness in the top note and can still be detected somewhat in the heart note but it goes away as it dries down and that is when the fragrance really shines (pun intended). Not only is the bottle beautiful but the atomizer is excellent (LV atomizers usually are)! Unfortunately the fragrance has been discontinued but I was able to get a new 100 mL bottle on ebay recently. It seems to be the only "legit" site where you can buy it. I'm not sure why the fragrance was discontinued (poor sales I presume) but I wish LV would put it back on the market.

A beautiful bottle, with a very appropriate colour and name. The magnetic top is a little extra fun. The opening notes remind me of freshly squeezed grapefruit, a juicy and bright accord. Then the orange blossom steps forward, laid out on a soft musk. Nothing earth-shattering here, but it is so beautifully made, great quality. This is an undoubtedly unisex fragrance, will be ideal on hot summer days.

Sun Song is very easy to wear and enjoyable, but ultimately nothing you haven’t smelled before. It basically is orange blossom and neroli. Extremely similar to Outrageous by Frederic Malle. I definitely would apppreciate it on a woman, to me it leans feminine. To conclude this is a fairly nice fragrance, but ultimately uninspired, as it offers nothing new. A like nevertheless. 7.5/10

Love the name, love the original citrus scent, love the presentation and adore the top quality fragrance house. Despite incredibly high prices, Louis Vuitton scents almost always knock it out of the park and this is no exception. A summer citrus wonder with an appealing and original scent.

When i smelt it, it reminded me of my childhood, when i woke up as a kid, how our house smelt so beautiful, my mom making us chai tea, chasing rabbits, the sun hitting me. It's nostalgia in bottle for me, it's so beautiful and an such an adorable scent.

This is like a mix between Acqua di Parma Colonia and Tom Ford Neroli portofino. Opening is very citrus/aquatic, clean and sharp. Drydown smells a lot like Cool Water. Nothing groundbreaking, decent fragrance, I’d consider cheaper options.

As lovely as this maybe, it smells exactly like a local detergent and thus this would be a no no for me. Edit 2025.08 bought a bottle anyway just because it was discontinued, only to learn that it’s now relaunched and reformulated. 🙄

Apparently, the sun song sounds like orange blossom and citruses. Bright, soft, and quietly uplifting; exactly the kind of warmth we need every day just to keep going

This reminds me of a local baby cologne. The scent is refreshing but not for a grown-up person like me.

I have to say that I am disappointed with this one. It smells very simple for what it is - almost reminiscent of a cleaning product. I wanted to love it but it’s not worth the price that it’s selling for right now, I wouldn’t even pay retail for it. It also leans very feminine in my opinion. I can sort of see why they discontinued this one. As someone who is lucky enough to try all three, here is how I would rank them: 1. Cactus Garden (by far!) 2. Afternoon Swim 3. Sun Song I’m happy with my 2ml sample of this. It’s definitely not a safe blind buy and I don’t think it’s bottle worthy, as amazing as the bottle looks. 6/10.

bright, breezy, warm citrus floral that smells like a woman wearing expensive sunscreen. best for heat and tropical locations. it’s a nice scent that would be an easy reach in the summer, especially for a woman, but the overpowering sunscreen vibe cheapens it. sun song reminds me of how my mother smelled on vacation growing up. natural, beachy and sunscreeny, but not necessarily perfumed.

The perfume guy mentioned that Rochas Citron Soleil is very similar (he owns both) and could be a good replacement... As Citron Soleil is a summer limited edition, don’t wait to long to try it...

I find it wild people are so desperate for a bottle of this, although I understand the feeling of wanting what you can’t have (I’m thinking about you, Guerlain Tonka Imperiale!). This fragrance gave me cleaning product vibes as others have mentioned and it frankly wasn’t even that good. Why do you think it’d be discontinued? Oh yeah...because it wasn’t that good and wasn’t selling much. Don’t shell out hundreds of dollars for this.

What’s with the hype on this? Sun song? More like banana boat spray sun screen. I was not a fan of this. Im very thankful I have buddies in this community who send me samples to try before making a huge discontinued FOMO blind buy mistake. Believe me, there is nothing you’re missing out on if you haven’t smelt this. I heard a rumor they are bringing this back, but I don’t think they should.

This comment section is a good example on how branding affects one's perception of a product. Sun Song literally smells like citrusy toilet cleaner. Without the LV branding I'm certain that this wouldn't have such favorable reviews.

This whole line looks really boring and masculine to me but I'm an lv collector and I bet theyd smell great on my man in the summer

This one is pretty decent and will be great for layering. Its definitely reminiscent of Tom Ford's summer citrus collection

I hate writing negative reviews. With that being said, this is one of the only fragrances that I can safely say that I hate. It’s orange blossom with toilet cleaning spray. The citron is pungent. This perfume is simply headache inducing and not flattering at all in my opinion.

Sun Song right off the opening reminds me very strongly of Cosmic Cloud, the musky animalistic note is almost exactly the same and that definitely isn’t a complaint. After about the first 30 minutes the musky animalistic note fades drastically but doesn’t vanish. Instead it is joined by a gorgeous white floral note with a very small bit of sweetness in it. The performed on Sun Song was stellar in terms of longevity. It lasted just under 12 hours on my skin and over 18 on my clothes so far, I get the feeling I’ll have to wash them to get all the traces off my clothes. A 9/10 here. I do have to admit that I’m torn on what I think about Sun Song sticking to my clothes so well. On one side it’s very nice for longevity but on the other it’s a bit annoying for anything you might wear for multiple days. The projection on Sun Song was just a little bit lacking in comparison to its longevity. For the first 6 hours it projected quite strongly, radiating slightly outside my arm length. After this is faded down to a very close skin scent, I couldn’t smell it without pressing my nose to my skin. A 7/10 for projection. Overall I think Sun Song is a very pleasant fragrance and I love the combination of the animalistic musk and floral, it also performes real well. Especially for a lighter and less sweet floral scent. After the initial dry down the balance is phenomenal. A 8/10 overall for me.

On first sniff, Sun Song impressed me most of the 3 LV summer fragrances. Afternoon swim seemed too banale and smelled like many more citrus/aquatic perfumes. Cactus garden smelled strange. The Sun Song had an elegant and artificial smell, a bit sweet. Later on, i purchased TF Neroli Portofino and Sun Song became number 2 since i like more zesty smells for the hot summer. I found mix of NP and SS do not work well together on my skin. With time, i somehow got back to SS, and even started getting compliments for it. Now i can say it is quite unique and you can for sure feel that it is expensive one, made with expensive ingredients. It has quite a longevity but no matter how many times you spray (i spray 6-8 times after shower usually in the morning) it keeps pleasant and unasuming, but in no way weak. In conclusion, i fully enjoy Sun Song and now decided to purchase Cactus garden due to everybody saying it is unique From the rest of Lv perfumes, my favs are Orage and L'immensite. Also have Jour se leve and like it, but it is a bit too strong for me.

Two words: Lemon Pledge. How the hell did this make it out there and how are people loving it? Lol I know, I know, fragrance is subjective and all that, but this is just straight Lemon Pledge and that’s all I have to describe it, everything about it smells just like the stuff? Is my nose missing something? I’m obsessed with Afternoon Swim and Cactus Garden, I think the citrus on those two fragrances from LV were just masterful, so wtf happened here? Anyways I actually do smell the orange blossom and musk eventually when it’s settling down, but it opens with and stays at Lemon Pledge for a good while. Big pass, worst of the LV fragrances so far, by far. Coming from a serial blind buyer... this is NOT a safe blind purchase at all. 3/10

Very pleasant citrus-musk fragrance, suitable, imo, for men of any age. As a woman, I feel comfortable wearing this, but it has a little something that I think would be more alluring on a mature, manly type. Bottom line: unisex. Very neroli at the start, along with the first push of musk and the solid-feeling citron. Sweet orange blossom emerges in the mid-life of the perfume, which surprised me. I like it. I feel like I have smelled this out and about, and it gives the impression of a nice sillage with room to share. I dabbed a tiny amount of this (from a 1 ml decant) on a warm morning, and after some physical activity, it is still present at midday. later: slightly reminiscent of a cheapie, Extreme Purete by Gres.

Thumbs up for Sun Song...but not two thumbs up at this early point in my experience with it. This reminds me more of Richard James Savile Row than it does of Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. Sun Song has what I call a dryer sheet vibe to it. Yes, it is fresh, but there is a synthetic fresh feel to it IMO. I will say that there is also a nice neroli note ghosting around as well, and as with all of the Louis Vuitton fragrances I've tried, SS is extremely well blended. I think I actually prefer Afternoon Swim's oranges and salt presence over Sun Song so far, but I've also learned that I need to give a fragrance some time before coming to a firm opinion.

Smells like a slightly upgraded and more expensive version of John Varvatos Artisan Pure or Tom ford Neroli Portofino. I'll stick with the cheaper options, which are those two. The other two from this collection are more interesting. Update: after wearing one on each arm for a few hours, the JV Artisan Pure is a little more masculine and a lot stronger. Can’t tell which one smells more “expensive,” but I’m slightly leaning towards the LV. Underwhelming release. Would probably love it if this category of smell wasn’t so widely done and at its price point.

Bitter-citric opening quickly followed by a faint orange blossom accord. For some reason I can barely smell it after 5 minutes. After a few minutes, it smells like your run of the mill orange blossom scent with a light musky base. Out of the three colognes, this is the least interesting to me. I've read some talks about discontinuation but in all honesty I wouldn't miss it one bit. Summer wear only. Unisex. Not worth the price. 5/10

DUPE ALERT - Rise & Shine 100ml EDP by Volare (Lattafa) £30. They released a whole series of LV dupes. Can someone please tell me if this DNA is more masculine and bitter? I kinda got tired of masculine unisexes and only looking for softer feminine scents (eg I enjoy Neroli Portofino but don't like Bal d'Afrique).

An absolute “ Masterpiece” Smells like “Sunshine in a bottle” Those who say it smell like cleaning liquids probably say that with any lemon scented fragrance and don’t know quality. I’m so glad I have a back up bottle. It’s “Summer in Heaven”
