Sounds really weird but this has been the fragrance I wear to sleep every night! The feeling of Sur La Route touching your freshly showered skin is insanely therapeutic! Honestly I can’t decide if this or Orage is my #1 favourite in the LV men collection. The subtle attention to details here in Sur La Route is what makes it so special! Most citrus scents make me nauseous (including LV’s best-sellers Afternoon Swim and L’immensite) but this one just hits so differently! The crisp and sparkling citrus notes in Sur La Route’s opening don’t hit you like a punch in the face, unlike most other fragrances in the same genre, they drift in the air so flawlessly on a background of wood, spices, and musk - I like the way how everything shows up all at once in harmony right from the opening and then slowly unfolds one by one in detail as the fragrance develops. The leather accord reveals at about half an hour mark giving it a really understated upperclass aura. Absolutely distinctive and recognisable, it stood out to me right at first sniff in the LV boutique among over 20 other scents! Honestly nothing in my past 10 years of collecting fragrances has ever smelled quite like this, at least to my nose. Pretty much the only citrus-forward fragrance I wanna keep in my collection :)

I really love this scent. It's like a trip to the Italian coasts in a bottle. Riding along, all kinds of citruses in the air, whiffs of leather from your jacket, and the smell of grasses and woods in the background. It feels a bit like Jacques Cavallier took his love for Eau Sauvage, added in a few tricks from Bleue d'Issey (the pepper and balsam), and then a dash of Tuscan Leather (the... well, the leather). All together they make for quite an impressive scent. The comparisons to Aventus or Aventus Cologne aren't crazy. It has that same sort of citrus and leather combo with some transparency from hedione, and the sweetness of the balsam mimics the smoky pineapple to a degree, but they're rather different overall. I don't see any similarity to Profondo Lights, much as I had hoped I would. Just entirely different scents to my nose. The only thing I don't really like is the cost. Sure, I get that LV is a luxe brand, but it does feel a bit overpriced. If anyone knows of any cheaper dupes or alternatives I'm all ears. If not, this beauty is probably destined to stay in the decant/sample section of the collection.

While the influencers and such are all about Imagination and its clones, there are some LV scents that completely go under the radar. Sur La Route is one such scent. When I go into my local LV store, I constantly see people (any gender) attracted to this one and there is a reason for that. It's a super clean scent, very fresh, citrusy, floral and spicy all at once. It's not exactly shower gel but there is this "blue" DNA in there however it is offset by a grassy greenness which I find makes all the difference here. As with many LV "colognes", this one lacks a little longevity (about the same as Imagination, for reference). Speaking of Imagination, if you wish it was less soapy and greener, Sur La Route is the one you want. It won't win awards for originality but if you want to smell classy, pleasant and "old money" as others have put it, this is the one. It's definitely made for warmer weather but you can't go wrong going into a formal meeting or using this as a signature office scent. An underrated LV favorite of mine, definitely.

I think I've sampled/decanted 15+ LV and this is the best to me, it's the only full bottle I got till now! Sur la Route in the LV family is the lead child with shiny eyes who knows exactly what he wants in life, in a wealthy family where his siblings don't have to do much to succeed! It's the challenge it brings to the table, and here I'm not saying others are bad, at all! They're just not as challenging as Sur la Route, others have this moment of: there should be something cheaper giving the same vibe, "even when there isn't." This one, I think you just can't say that. I really like the clear leathery background you smell in a very summery perfume, and you're not offended at all! It surprises you and makes you wonder how a summer fragrance could have leather and still be very mass appealing! Everyone smelled it and gave feedback. It was 100% positive!! I think it deserves -at least- a try.

My favorite of the Louis Vuitton new quintet of men's fragrances upon initially smelling them all recently, Sur La Route. This is primarily a light citrus/aquatic freshie with some woody undertones. It's understated, sophisticated, and quite agreeable. The scent it outstanding, containing subtle tones of cardamom and patchouli to complicate and deepen the woodiness of the dry down. Like Orage, though, Sur La Route is more interesting in its opening hour or two than in its comparatively sober dry down. Performance is the main lacking factor in Sur La Route, which is simply not significant in terms of projection and longevity and is thus a very difficult sell at $240 for 100ml. With more modest pricing, this would be an easy winner. 8 out of 10

The scent itself I love. It opens with uber-fresh citruses, almost like I'm peeling oranges and lemons by hand with the oils misting up in my face. It doesn't take long for leather to come in and it increasingly takes over the further into the drydown I go. However, it's a very soft and smooth leather with the citruses still fizzing off the surface. The performance, unfortunately, lets it down big time. I find the projection very soft from the start and it lasts for maybe an hour max. As a skin scent it has maybe 5-6hr longevity. I could never recommend paying that much for performance that poor, and if one were so inclined the "good freshie with zero performance" space is pretty crowded anyway. Too bad.

Where Imagination leans sparkling-clean and almost too obvious in its crowd pleasing citrus role, and Pacific Chill feels more like a fleeting detox juice than a perfume, Sur La Route has that touch of character..off the beaten path. The leather is worn in, traveled the overall composition feels a bit rugged, even natural. You're on the road here...I love the sunny bright citrus opening with herbal and grassy touches. But, the leather appears with some spice darkening the composition making it an extremely well rounded fragrance. Wise, mature and modern with a classic feel. Appropriate for any season, but Spring and Fall would hit with its spiced nuance. My favorite from the J. Cavallier LV line.

Natural citrus blast drying to natural, almost savory leather. Its a very moderate projector but lasts quite a while, especially the dry down. Very well blended, highly recommend a sample! For the last month I have been wearing all Louis Vuittons mens line (picked up 2/2ml samples of each)...while I thought LImmensite(the most mass appealing) was the overall best in the line now that I went through all the samples and lived with each fragrance for a decent amount of time I have found Sur La Route to be LVs best fragrance of the entire line, for me its the only bottle worthy pick up...even at the hefty price. So unique and masterfully done...I have smelled nothing like it.

Quite simplistic yet amazing fragrance. I do have to say that compared to the other LV fragrances this definitely feels overpriced. This smells like a bunch of citruses blended together with ice and lemongrass, it’s extremely fresh, citrusy, green, manly and has a hint of wood deep inside it. I can’t imagine someone disliking this fragrance but this is definitely not something mind blowing either, it’s all the opposite in fact, it’s crowd pleasing because of how simple this smells, but that is also a problem for some because it lacks the uniqueness aspect that other LV fragrances have and because of this it can feel completely overpriced

This is a very well done scent, one of the best bergamonts in the game. However, like most fresh scents, it does not hold it's weight in terms of longevity and sillage. I would say that it lasts about 3 hours with decent projection, but then it becomes a skin scent after that. It's hard to hate on the longevity of fresh, citrusy scents, because most fresh scents have low boiling points and they evaporate relatively quickly. I do, however, really like this scent and think it is a fantastic addition to my collection. Would love to see this made into a shower gel. Overall Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Sillage: 7.5/10

Sur La Route is my second favorite after Meteore from LV Parfums. While it is more of a spring/summer fragrance, its an all day and all night wear for me. Citrusy and light in the day and leathery and sensual in the night. Definitely an interesting smell. Performance is a bit lower though. I really like the opening and middle, where it opens with mix of citruses and after some time you get hints of leather with nutmeg and patchouli. You can even smell small hints of fresh grass. This parfum reminds me of Tuscany countryside in late spring when you can smell lemons in the air.

This stuff is so gorgeous that it baffles me as to why it was discontinued/reformulated/whatever the hell happened to it. It's a very classy yet modern lemon scent with a hint of grass and smooth leather base. It's both calming and energising. The lemon grass does remind me of Wulong Cha but more "old money". It's just so damn likeable and can be worn by anyone. I wish it lasted longer and projected a bit more but that's part of it's allure. It sticks close to your skin and envelopes you in the most gorgeous scent bubble. I love this stuff.

The most underrated perfume in my collection. This and afternoon swim are my two LV favorites I just had to have both. I love everything about this fragrance, scent wise absolutely its smokey, its mysterious, its rich. The name the color. Its call “love for the route” of life, thats beautiful and thats how I feel when I wear it. Its magic in a bottle for me. The off gold color everything. I hope I can continue to get it filled, if not I would buy a big bottle before it goes out of stock. I want this scent forever ♾️.

For my bottle today and wearing for the first time. Has no one else mentioned the similarities to Aventus in the opening?! To me this is similar in the opening but much drier. Reminds me even more of boadicea the victorious consort.. anyways I’ll continue to wear snd give my thoughts. All of the fresh LV you really can’t go wrong with. Yes they may be expensive but they are all made with quality materials as well but still pricy ha. I’ll give an update if I have any as I wear more.

This 💩is🔥. Big time 🔥. Used to hate it. My nose grew up and now I want to have its babies. Plural. Gimme them Sur La Route cologne kids. Definitely not for new noses. Sort of smells like Gucci Guilty Absolute if Gucci Guilty Absolute had f you money. Citrus & pink pepper. Nutmeg & cardamom. Leather & patchouli. Here’s where a chefs kiss is appropriate. Get a sample and let it simmer on your skin but take out a second mortgage before you buy a big bottle. It’s pricey. But delicious.

After sampling all the men’s fragrances from LV, this was the one i bought first. I bought this first because i needed a new fragrance for work, something that i can wear every day and not get sick of, something that smells like a distinguished gentleman, a smooth and supple leather with a juicy zesty citrus fragrance that creates an air of sophistication around you. This is a solid hidden gem, unlike many of the most popular fragrances out there. Cannot wait to wear all 100 ml

Masterful perfumery. For the first hour or two, this is peppery, sharp citrus. On the drydown, leather and patchouli come through. Not that "new car," leather like Tom Ford Ombre Leather, but a dirty, animalic, rugged leather. Like a horse's saddle after a day on the trail. I get about 4 hours of solid performance, then another hour or two of "okay," performance. That part could certainly be better, but I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of longevity for a fragrance this appealing.

This is a very pleasant fragrance. It doesn’t really remind me of anything else that I have smelled. Closest thing for me would be Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne. However, I cannot recommend this fragrance. On me, it becomes an instant skin scent. I don’t mind longevity too much because I can always reapply, but this has very soft projection. For it’s current price point, performance is an issue. I will still give it a love because of the scent.

This is my favourite fragrance of all time. Has a citrus opening and addictive leathery dry down. It also brings back fond memories, so will cherish this scent for life. I am actually happy it's not got imagination hype, and remains quite unknown. I do get nervous when this goes out of stock online - Please don't discontinue

I bought a bottle last weekend and I’m loving! In my opinion it is the equilibrium I was looking for, a fresh perfume with a dark side at the end, a good daily perfume but I agree that this should be used mostly for formal occasions. The only downside is that the sillage is not great and is not eternal lasting.

this fragrance IS discontinued for the time being. I have recently confirmed with SA’s. Is it possible it will come back? 100%. But for now it is no longer being produced. Many people were saying that it was going to come back on the 24th but I believe this was simply the last round of stock being put out.

Unfortunately, I believe this has lost potency throughout its time of being released. I remember this being stronger and sticking around a lot longer back in the earlier days of this being available. Now, it's just a shell of itself and lasts about 45 minutes with noticeable sillage. What a bummer...

Gorgeous smell, brings back memories of walking into an LV store and smelling this. Pity about the longevity of the fragrance, Spray heaps of it and then top up again at lunch. A very sophisticated smell. Would still buy it again even though I like fragrances that punch you in the face!

I can see the resemblance between SLR and Eau de Memo but the latter is more leathery and less citrusy. Both are truly a godsend though. Personally I think SLR is more suitable for day wear cuz it’s lighter and smoother. EdM, on the other hand, has stronger projection and performance.

amazing fresh/green/leathery mature modernized masculine scent... theres a classic feeling and it reminds me of a perfume in my memory, I cant remember which. compliments galore Tip - layer with Molecule 01 to achieve an excellent projection+longevity top notch

I agree with reviewer dytado below me, but would add that the tea in eau de memo makes it softer, as opposed to the spicy/grassy sure la route which I find more mature/masculine leaning, almost a touch smokey, while still being very citrusy and easygoing.

Before testing this one I never thought leather would be that good on a summer fragrance, I love it and it can't be missed at all. I had a wide smile on the first try that I'm testing something new to me. I'm glad that we can smell such beauty :)

This is one of the most underrated fragrances ever. It smells so masculine, sophisticated and high class. I see this is much better than orage, I was blown away when I first smelled this and immediately bought it. I suggest you try this gem.

My go to dumb reach fragrance. Most complemented fragrance I own. Opens bright with citrus and grass. The dry down is where the real magic happens. Woody and leathery with some spices, yet somehow it remains very fresh. 10/10

A very, very good fragrance, but at this price point, a performance of only about 3 hours is not reasonable for me. Therefore, there isn’t much left to talk about — even though the moment I first smelled it, it felt amazing.

Received this as a sample, and I must say...this is a great spring/summer fragrance. Although, it definitely reminds me of something familiar. I would say it’s almost in the same vein as Aventus, but not quite. 8.5/10

Dont buy it because I want to be the only one with it no offense. They are taking them off shelves, if i cant get 200 mls f it. Im gonna be 2-4 100 mls and rock it for the next 10-20 years on off

i have a feeling i sprayed myself with a basket of lemon :D EDIT AFTER A DAY : Its actually great, among other stuff i've tried this is by far different than anything else. Its citrussy alot.

Its great, fresh and a bit spicy. It has an earthy undertone that mixes well with the leather and patchouli. I think it can be worn year round, but would shine bright in the spring or autumn.

Best Summer option from LV, along side Imagination, its quiet compared to its summer counterparts but has that quiet rich scent for the hot weathers. However, i heard its getting Discontinued

There's something about this scent that makes me come back for more and more... This should have Aventus hype behind it... I'm honestly shocked it never reached any sort of recognition.

This one always catches my attention when I’m in the LV store. Until it clicked in my head as to why I love it - very reminiscent of Mancera Cedrat Boise ( but with worse performance).

Bright citrus opening with leather dry down. Longevity is around 6 to 8 hrs. Does not project very well. Overall it's a great release. Too bad it's discontinued
