Attique

This is incredibly lovely. I had previously been tiptoeing around Diptyque's Philosykos but found that one a tad bit too green for my liking. This one however smells like a paper bag full of fresh ripe true figs and its delightful. Quite a surprise too cause this one only lists the fig tree as a note, while Philosykos lists the fruit as well as the leaves. This one however is a lot more fruity, yet very natural. For the first few hours of wear sillage is quite repectable. It's like hanging out in front of a fruit stall. Instantly puts you in a great mood. After 5 to 6 hours you might have to come a bit closer to smell the fruit, but I do feel that at this stage more of the white florals are peeking through. The fig might not be so pronounced anymore, but you'll still smell fresh and classy. This is just a lovely lovely summer fragrance. Fruity yet natural. Fresh and uplifting. For me it leans very heavily to the feminine side. I'm very happy I own it.

Beautiful scent. Itasca, Bluff et al in the clear bottles impressed me at my local Harrods (David Jones in Sydney) when I sampled them though not for the full AUD $170. A gift card at the time found me leaving with Itasca quite happily (ironically I paid AUD $299 for Korrigan and Akaad though I very much saw value in that). I’d forgotten what Attique smelled like but it was on special so I blind ordered it. The marketing grabbed me as I have Greek heritage and I have visited Delphi many times. Unlike most reviews here I do not find this a fig fruit scent. There is as per notes an impression of a fig tree. Otherwise the opening is a strong bright through syrupy lemon pledge with a strong bergamot (with rind) over the top. This is dominant for 15 - 60 minutes where in a strong jasmine starts to reveal itself almost as one with the citrus and as the citrus starts softening, the Jasmine starts to power the scent. All of this on top of a damp but not too prominent woody base - very much blended and complimentary. Airiness is maintained but the sweet almost twig like fig scent on top with the white florals also lifting the freshness. I do not know what the technical ‘solar’ scent is but for me this would easily be achieved by the bright florals giving a sun drenched warm impression as well as the aquatic ocean breeze. Here in lies a problem (for me) as I am not a fan of strong florals especially Jasmine. At the end of the day this is what this is for me - a sophisticated Jasmine scent with all of the note table as a compliment. This is one of very very few scents for me out of say 700 that have crossed my path (including the 250 I have as FB) that the marketing spiel is actually not a stretch. It does remind me of Delphi, green sweet shrubs and flowers in bloom on an alpine mountainside with a clean fresh wind blowing in your face. It’s a feminine scent towards the masculine end though if you told someone it’s a masculine scent they would probably just agree. For an approximation at a decent stretch is Burberry Weekend which I still wear after ten years. It’s decent in Sillage for a few hours and lasts 8-20 hours. Having said that I would not have purchased this bottle for full price after testing it. Though it’s not normally for me I’m not likely gifting it for now as it indeed keeps me coming back because it just so captures my memories.

A gorgeous fig scent that is more on the green side rather than sweet and fruity. Reminds me of summers on the Mediterranean coast. Figs, jasmine, and french tanning lotion. Projection and longevity are a bit disappointing, but I like to apply this in the morning or the afternoon as a pick-me-up.

Such a beautiful words were written about this one, i ordered a sample: to me its a very aggressive cleaning product... Do not blind buy it!
