Bluff

I like this very much indeed! it's so intriguing I'd follow someone in a heartbeat with this on. I love it on my skin the composition is brilliant, a fresh lively lime interacts with warm inviting woods of sandalwood & cedar && the added vanilla && cinnamon notes really play well && helps give it it's sensual-ness && borders it to sexy. I can't stop sniffing myself when I have it on, it quickly made it to my wants which I don't have many only the ones I absolutely need make it, both longevity && sillage are a little on the moderate side, but hey I can live with that when the scent is truly wonderful, Wow Lubin is really winning me over Akkad && this are both @ the top of my list. Worth the wiff, try it you'll love it, also try Akkad if you love smoky amber-y scents! :) Overall: 10/10

"Bluff" didn't quite live up to my expectations performance wise, but is nonetheless a very intriguing scent. A sharp, invigorating 'tonic water' spritz of lime, nutmeg and sage, quickly become tantalizingly smooth as a cool, waxy iris develops to blur the edges. There's something about nutmeg that causes me to salivate slightly and indeed as I smelled this I could almost imagine it on my tongue. This intriguing texture soon made way for a dry sandalwood. Unfortunately on my skin, this is where the experience ended, and I could not pick up any kola nut, or vanilla, which was disappointing. Perhaps it didn't work with my skin, as on paper the unique character of the cola nut and sweetness of the vanilla were much more apparent. It didn't quite smell like the Cola beverage, but reminded me of those fizzy cola lollipops I used to eat as a kid. Projection and longevity sadly weren't great; I would say a maximum of 2 hours on skin (longer on clothes). It's more of a summer scent and has quite a masculine character with that strapping woodiness. I'm not sure I can justify the price tag for something so faint, but would absolutely wear it if it was gifted to me.

I caught this marked 25 percent off at my retailer along with Itasca. It is unique to say the least along with being very complex. It will take several wearings to get a handle on this I'm sure but I have no doubt this will get plenty of wear from me. It smells wonderful on me and that's all I care about.

Bluff - perfect name. Bluffed me with some spicy opening notes for maybe a minute. Thought it might be ok. But then it deteriorated quickly into what I can only describe as pine sol and ammonia. Fortunately it only lasted about an hour on my skin.

Well, let me start by saying Bluff is not at all what I thought it'd be. I was hoping for a scent that finally did cola justice. Nope, not here. Immediate disappointment. But then I gave Bluff a chance and tried to assess it on its own merits, and I discovered a really interesting fragrance. First off, let it be known that this is through and through a vetiver scent. A very dry vetiver - not dirty but not clean and vibrant or citrusy like say MPG's Racine. I've never smelled a tumbleweed (do they have an odor?) but that's what the smell of this vetiver evokes in my mind's eye. There's a hint of lime in the opening along with an airy clary sage note, but immediately the dry vetiver jumps to the fore. What's especially interesting is how that natural nutty facet of vetiver is explored and enhanced by the nutmeg and kola nut notes (I should mention that the nutmeg is so well blended that I never smelled it as a stand-alone note but always as part of a larger accord). It's ingenious, actually, because at all times you know that you're smelling vetiver but yet not - it's like one of those CD covers where if you tilt it from left to right you see two different images, except here you can see, or rather smell both of them simultaneously, and they both augment each other in a wondrously harmonious fashion. The dry grassy vetiver plus semi-sweet airy sage, cinnamon, and other notes create a sense of space, of dry fields beneath a clear blue sky. The only other frag that has evoked this wonderful "blue skies and open space" feeling is Amouage's Ciel Man. Now, Bluff doesn't smell like Ciel much at all, and achieves the effect by very different means, but it's a sensation that I know those who know and enjoy Ciel will be able to relate to. If I had to describe Bluff in terms of another scent I'd say it's kind of like Infusion d'Homme minus a ton of soap and with a huge dry grassy vetiver as its spine. It has that same dry/white feel of Infusion d'Homme, but the vetiver is so much more apparent here, and then there's the way Bluff explores the nuttiness of vetiver and kola nut that puts it in a different olfactory space. Still, I think the comparison to IdH has some merit as many have smelled IdH and they do share some of that dry feel and olfactory 'colors' and such. Bluff is awesome - just don't go into it expecting coca-cola!

Wow I'm liking this right off the bat. A fresh spicy sweet opening with lime and cinnamon and iris coming together to create something I have not smelled before. This accord is brand new too me I have never smelled anything like it and I'm loving it. I'm getting the nutmeg now amongst the fresh spicy flowery accord, lol... Ahhhh man this is good. Now that great limey iris accord is calming down and the woody nutmeg is becoming slighty more prominent with a touch of a dark fizzy note, very subtle which must be the kola nut. It kind of gives the woods a slight coke like effervescent quality though very slight. As time has moved on I'm picking up a bit of vetiver and patchouli though that lovely unusual limey iris accord is still there. It's getting a little more sweet now but still has that floral woodyness to it. To sum up a wonderful fresh floral limey iris accord with a woods and nutmeg that finishes with a vetiver patchouli accord in the base while keeping the star of the show notes. I get seven hours out of it and I really like this one.

The opening of this creation, which from the bottle appears actually to be called Le Vetiver de Lubin(?) seems very inviting to me. I catch a rich iris note immediately. Unfortunately, then the woodish base sweeps in to take over, and I can no longer really distinguish this from lots of middling designer men's fragrances. I must be hypersensitive to this "stuff", because it has gotten to the point where it now ruins nearly every perfume in which it appears. My best guess is that my body processes this generic "woodishness" (whatever its source may be...) in the same way as Sucralose (which I thoroughly detest). In micro-amounts it's okay, but nearly everyone overdoses with the stuff and the result is quite unpleasant to me. Oh well, others seems to like Bluff a lot, so now there will be more left for them!

Nice scent: for me it's mix of jungle man and epices by piver. Just wish that openig could last longer. It's the best part of this perfume. So sad that it last so short. Anyway - fragrance worth trying

Nice fragrance with a very similar vibe to the famous Versus Uomo by Gianni Versace. This one is less sharp and bold, while also a bit weaker. Still a very cool perfume!
