"Heart of Darkness" (for something Afro-inspired but more organically tribal than outright "fierce"; it does "take me there") but what LUBIN has done to the already fine original 2005 male marketed release is noteworthy. IdL EDP feels like you're on safari but do so from the comfort of velvet cushioned seats sipping indigenous liqueur (aged in ebony-wood with spicy and sweet co-distilled to perfection) under the watchful eye of armed native guards; so nothing gets to wild or out-of-control. Rather than simply "amp up" the eo (essential oils) concentrations of the EDT, Mme Giacobetti transforms a superbly done modern man-scent into something deeper. darker and dripping with mystique and exoticism. The result? Something so primal it is neither HIS nor HERS. Rather than simple dilution and/or muddling "the usual suspects" of gender specific notes to come up with something soft polite and crowd-pleasing, our intrepid Nose augmented those fragrant "negative spaces" in Idole EDT with a gob-smack of blissful balms and richer accords with a slight variation of the supporting note cast. It's something more ancient, and far more arcane, that defies gender categorization. Oblivious of something so banal as gender, Idole EDP would simply rather continue on with its undulating dance of sacred supplication peppered throughout by carnal rhythms with feral abandon. While incense and smoke swirl around us, we look on fascinated by both the savagery and sophistication IDOLE EDP seems to exude. Its initial intense burst diffuses and expands mirroring the sun cresting the horizon while mimicking the day's heat rising, still spiced and warm yet softer, like the arid breezes that swirl across the sweltering Serengeti plains. All perfumed PR-fueled fantasies aside-IDOLE EDP is amazing lovely and keeps my nose returning to my wrists all day, and (not all that surprisingly) slips softly into a more fitting sensual skin scent hours into the evening. Bottom line: Idole EDP is FB-worthy at its full retail asking price... without a doubt. When both of my 1.2mL samples are spent, I shall be scouring the interweb shoppes for either bottle or sizable decant of this to add this to my already rather crowded armoire. Storage concerns notwithstanding, I am leaning more to a FB purchase. Why you ask? That bottle is severely beautiful perfectly capturing the sensuality by way of tribal inspiration with postmodern artistic styling of the bottle's designer, Serge Mansau, who incidentally designed all the flacon(s) for the Talismania Collection. If you know his work and are familiar with the fragrances themselves; the subtle differences become perceptible in the color combinations hand-in-hand with subtle yet bold embellishment. SILLAGE: very good (up to 6 feet) * the primal roar becomes more of a loud persistent rhythmic purr LONGEVITY: excellent (10-12 hours+) *dependent on number of sprays, climate, chemistry and what not OVERALL: 4.5/5 *93/100 is an "A-List" scent, not quite on the Honor Roll, but damn close! ALL that other groovy stuff aside this is one scores a hat-trick with its combined presence (awesome), performance (admirable) and pulchritude (see above). Unabashedly primal IDOLE EDP is "smoothed over" just enough to come across as suave sophisticated scent that never compromises. Instead of trying to be too much of either, Nathalie has combined both qualities bringing out a radiant quality obliquely occluded with shadowy depth. This rarified rawness, tempered ever so gently with with spiritual sublimation, ultimately alembicates into something that is simply and truly typifies gorgeousness. I applied this earlier as my SOTD today. As I sit here typing this my hands are unleashing silken wafts of aboriginal aromas. These rising teasingly like sweet, savage whispers to my nostrils.It was readily apparent that as of 1700 hours the bonfires of noble wood and limb have already been lit and the music plays on and on. Therefore, it looks like it will end up being my SOTN as well. Much like extending one's own African holiday a day or two,this is more of a blessing than a problem! Steeping into a single spritz from the small spray sample left shimmering dewdrops that melted into the front of my shirt, after dinner, will most assuredly dance me safely to slumber filling my head with dreams of safari and adventure. Dark spicy boozy beauty in a bottle. A wild party in liquid form. Josephine Baker, scandalising Paris in the 1920s, would have worn this. Almost all my favourite aromatics in one, with a terrifically tangy bitter-orange zing on the open and a great punch of clove that somehow doesn't get medicinal but stays delicious. Hugely redolent of rum, but rum so fine it makes you smell sexy rather than like a clumsy drunk. Sugar syrup keeps the dark ebony/palm wood notes in balance. It is just spectacularly delicious. HOWEVER - not to be That Commenter but I do think this may have been weakened in recent reformulation. On paper this looks like an absolute monster but my recent FB is almost disappointingly restrained on sillage and lifespan. I've tried testers of this which stayed radiating scent and spice for hours and hours, but my FB is giving such poor longevity (3-4h only?) that I wondered if it was fake... but other reviews here suggest I'm not the only one to find it surprisingly fleeting.* It is SO SO SO gorgeous that scarcely matters, but be aware - if you're looking for an all-night showstopper this may not work that way. I still think it's close the scent of hedonist heaven (and I'm a teetotaller!). * edited to add: tried again and noticed that while it's still dying off my skin faster than I would like, it is *super tenacious* on fabric - a plain cotton top was still absolutely buzzing with Idole goodness a whole 24 hrs later and it had only caught the stray micro-molecules of a girly neck-spray. So if you have the same problem - try this on textiles.

firstly whoever said it is like idole EDT was true. i have this masterpiece and test EDT version. they are exactly the same with a little different. EDP is a little more dark and more mystery but less boozy note and less silage than EDT. secondly whoever said it is like bentely was exactly true too(specially in top note). actually if i smell bentely before buying this one i'm sure bought bentely instead of lubin because of more boozy note in bentely and price is 1/3 lubin idole.so it's more economically in all aspects. let's not go off the topic, lubin idole is really unique for boozy and mystery lover and have realy beast last longing and good sillage.i die for dry down.9/10 اول از همه هر کی گفته بوش شبیه نسخه ادوتویلت این عطر هست کاملا درست گفته. من این عطر رو خریدم و نسخه ادوتویلت این عطر هم که بسیار بسیار کمیاب هست در عطرفروشی غنچه واقع در گیشا تست کردم. دقیقا یه جوریایی عین هم هستند فقط حالت الکلی مانند که به خاطر وجود رام در نت ها است در نسخه تویلت به مراتب بیشتر و بهتر است و نسخه پرفیوم بیشتر رمزآلود تر و تاریک تر است. در ضمن پخش بوی تویلت بیشتر از این نسخه است. دوماً هر کی گفته بوش شبیه بنتلی هست بازم درست گفته. در حقیقت 1 ساعت اول هیچ فرقی باهم ندارن و من اگه عطره بنتلی رو قبل از خرید لوبین تست میکردم حتما بنتلی رو می خریدم چون قیمتش تقریبا یک سوم این عطره. در هر صورت زیاد از موضوع دور نشیم. لوبین آیدل عطری بسیار خاص و خوش ساخت است که بوش رو شاید در هزارتا عطر یکبار تجربه کنید.و من از بابت خریدم بسیار راضیم و حتما جزو 5 عطره برتر زندگیم هستش.

Sometimes those tiny sample vials just don't allow you to experience a scent to its fullest, hence this new review. I am so glad I surrendered to my imagination and bought a bottle of this exquisite perfume, as now I can really immerse myself in all the facets that I wasn't able to appreciate with the few tiny dribbles that the sample had to offer. "Idole" (EDP) opens with a spicy blast of saffron infused rum, fizzy with the sweetness of bitter orange peel and sugar cane. It instantly reminded me of rum and coke. Indeed the rum note in this fragrance is probably the best quality I've encountered, not saccharine or synthetic like many designer perfumes. As the boozy vapors dry down, the smoky ebony and olibanum combination is revealed. From this point on it smells quite dark and dry, however, occasionally my nose and tongue will catch whips of anise-like sweetness from the caraway. The whole thing evokes the image of a rum-soaked treasure chest filled with precious spices and incense, lying parched in the blazing sun. Despite what a few people have said here, this really does not smell like a woman's fragrance to me. The strong woods and leather give this a very masculine frame. It has a rugged, laid back exoticism. Not to mention the sleek bottle and the awesome box it's presented in totally complete that rare foreign treasure theme. This is a beauty.

i have the original edt bottle and love that one but i have to say that this one is equally beautifull. The differences are slight. I have the impression that this one is made unisex whilst the original goes straight masculine with more spice and wood and a heavier dose of the rum with an overal "deeper" effect. This edp version seems to go brighter and a slight touch more versatile (if i can say it that way) because of the toned down rum so the bitter orange gets more playroom. It goes a bit more juicy and maybe a touch creamy but still managing not to be to feminin. This is made perfectly unisex and will work on both genders in a good way. The bitter orange (one of my favourite notes) smells really good. This is not the kind of "booz" scent that will make you smell like an alcoholic but rather appealing instead and not to heavy either. Just perfect. Simply put smells like a juicy glass of orangeb bitters and rum with spices. Performance is good and nice to wear on cooler weather. It is a pitty that Lubin can't make an exception to pour this juice into the original bottle design because this juice simply deserves that but at the same time i understand they make a clear distinction with it and so avoid to much talk about reform and such. Very nice and wearable (especially for a booze scent) and one of the best boozy scents out there. Good stuff

This is the best rum based scent I've ever smelled in my life. Spicy, boozy cozy and smoky. I like pretty much everything about this. If you've seen Terry Gilliam's amazing film Zero Theorem, this is the scent of Qohen's island paradise. Exotic and idyllic and fantastic. Opens up with some soft orange, saffron, some woodiness and a lot of rum. The dry down is sweet rum and soft spices that really make it smell like a warm hug from a volcano. Sillage is close to the skin but longevity is amazing. My only complaint with this is that due to its thick, syrupy sweet nature it can pretty much only be worn in cold weather (doesnt really line up with my idyllic pacific island intent). I decided to go out on a limb and order an unsprayed bottle of the original EDT (found on ebay for considerably less than the EDP!!) since I heard it is more leathery and more wearable in different kinds of weather. I hope i didnt make a mistake but I am so excited to receive the beautiful edt bottle! While this EDP has a nice bottle that is an interesting abstracted interpretation of the original, I passionately love the look of the EDT's ebony mask and sail-shaped bottle. Anyway the EDP is a strong 9/10, with only 1 point detracted due to lack of wearability and price. Great stuff!

Lubin Parfums Idole de Lubin Eau de Parfum was released in 2011 and is the successor to the initial 2005 EDT release, which I’m not familiar with, and the EDP is so apparently (from its opening) a dark, spicy, resinous scent with a good amount of heady spicy kick but not so much to overshadow the resins. It feels mainly like a mix of the dominant frankincense, spices (cumin, pepper, saffron), sandalwood, and leather. It’s spicy while only being slightly smoky, and really only has the faintest twinges of sweetness, even with listed notes of rum and sugarcane, which may contribute to its balance but do not seem overtly there in their own right. The cumin makes it lean ever so slightly animalic, versus, say, Armani Prive Bois d’Encens, which is also woodier, and Idole on the whole does seem a little bit wilder while still have an incense center. Overall, it’s a great fragrance, and performs very. It is priced at $180 for 100ml, very reasonably under $2/ml, and is sold at select boutiques like Perfumology, from whom I obtained a sample. I had smelled this before in store but did not sample it thoroughly and it’s such an easy winner, especially for colder weather. 8 out of 10

The opening to Idole EDP had me a little underwhelmed a sweet, boozy kick with a hint of saffron, which don't get me wrong are some great notes but somehow felt like just an 'OK' scent from Lubin. How wrong was I? Leave it a few minutes to settle and then it really starts to shine which incense heart notes of labdanum, olibanum and intense woods. This is such an amped up masculine scent which manages to be butch and elegant at the same time. It is truly a unisex really, although I can't help but think it's lean more toward the masculine with all that boozy woody character. I'd describe Idole de Lubin as a boxer in ballet shoes heavy accords that seem to float on a gentle breeze. And still somehow it feels like something I recognize and identify with. This is an expertly blended perfume, the notes come to you in an initial separate waves but then seem to consolidate into a single entity...an entity that I can't help but keep sniffing. I only applied a small amount and it went on strong, had a good sillage trail and longevity. Wait for the magic to happen and this thing is off the charts good and yet another perfume I need a full bottle of. Superb!

Finally, I am united with my full bottle that is 6 years old. The box, the bottle, the cap, everything about this fragrance is an experience of olfactory art. This is a fairly linear scent, but it’s absolutely gorgeous. It smells nothing like my Bentley for Men Intense, but it could be in the same group of fragrances. This is Rum, Incense, leather, Sandalwood with some soft spices trickled in, and they are all blended so beautifully. No sharp edges or signs of low quality ingredients. It has beast mode longevity and I always seem to get whiffs of it throughout the day. This is niche perfumery to its core. If you blind buy this thinking it’s a better version of BMI, you’ll be pissed. This is 10x better in every way. I think this could be a signature scent. It’s very different and you can be rest assured you will smell like nobody else. This is 100% a masculine fragrance and is timeless. It has no old school vibes at all. It’s modern. Amazing performance and scent 100% happy with my purchase!

#1616 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I got this decant from scentplit.com. Very similar to Bentley "for Men Intense" that I have in my collection. Primary difference is this scent's caraway note and the Bentley's bay leaf. I like this a little better. Primarily amber, incense and sandalwood. The quality is much the same. This is several times the price of the Bentley, so I'd say unless the minor notes differences are really important to you it isn't worth the price differential. Not so different from the Bentley that I'll be a buyer. People seem impressed with the container. I couldn't care less. I'd be fine if all scents came in a clear rectangular glass bottle and a recyclable cardboard box. For me it's what inside, not the packaging. Carpool, elevator and small spaces safe. Moderate performance. Not as boozy as some would have you believe. Certainly, no one will think you're keeping a bottle of Bacardi in the desk drawer. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

In the beginning I especially liken this scent (at least on me) to coca cola and rum, with sandalwood, leather, and saffron notes (mixed with hints of the others) But especially from the bottle and at first application, it smells strongly like coca cola to me (saffron can be reminiscent of that, and it's quite evident here). This scent is the sort that takes a little bit of time after first spray for the magic to really show. The dry-down is smooth and elegant, and the notes present themselves brilliantly. So, the first 30 minutes is more coca cola/rum but theeeeen it turns into a luscious, scrumptious, extraordinarily sensual scent, which I am rather fond of. The longer I've had it on, the more lovely it gets. Idole is purely androgynous, and its seductiveness is irresistible. This is a scent created by outstanding artistry and skill. 10/10, based on the EDP Edit: I'm pretty sure this is a facsimile of Jeke by Slumberhouse.

Idole de Lubin is a beautiful experience. Alluring and strong opening of warm spices flavoured by bitter orange and mixed with thickly aromatic rum, the type of premium quality that has matured in oak barrels for years. The boozy vibe remains strong throughout the middle notes where sweet woods, pepper and light incense accentuate this mouth watering sensation. At drydown the liquor's romantic aura is joined by smoky amber, creamy sandalwood and hints of soft leather conjuring up an image of a "heart 'n' mind" relaxing evening by the fireplace's glowing cinders, sipping rum and feeling sheltered, cozy & passionate. Elegantly presented in a minimalistic yet eye catching bottle, Idole manages (performance wise) to stand out pretty well considering it is a Giacobetti creation. A dark & mysterious interaction between opulence & refinement. 8.5/10

I would ignore any review from a sample: this is not the kind of scent you can get a sample of and instantly know everything there is to know about it :) Yes, this is boozy-spicy-woody fragrance that we have many of nowadays but the difference is in the details and nuances. Not as sweet as some reviews suggest, by the way. To me, this is mostly creamy woods and spice and it is rather dry (the spices will bring some hint of sweetness but that's it). Very well blended and balanced, one of my favorite woody fragrances for fall/winter. Incredibly natural smelling too as many similar fragrances are very synthetic in the dry down especially. Try it on skin, during the season (fall/winter) and do it more than once. Amazing scent and there are no close rivals here. This and Baraonda are my two favorites for cold weather days...

I love love love this fragrance! But alas! I just can't pull it off! It's not that it is too feminine, it has very masculine aspects to it, but this fragrance is for a confident, smooth, and maybe slightly exotic type of person. Which I am not... It is a gorgeous, sultry, boozy, spicy, leathery fragrance that is dark, elegant, exotic and indulgent. First of all you smell rum. But this rum is bodily embraced by carraway. Carraway which has been out picking a basket of saffron. It dries down to an addictively sweet woody, leathery scent that has my nose attached to my wrist for hours. I love this. But it is discriminate in whom it suits. A must try for ANYONE, and whom ever the lucky person is that wears it well, you'll not go wrong with this luxuriously enrapturing fragrance.

This is really nice but I knew it was familiar. It's a less pungent and much smoother Fendi assoluto. I don't find it very sweet. It's the booze, orange and spices that hit you on the opening. I swear I also get something gingery that makes me think of gingerbread men. After a short while the ebony, saffron and leather take the lead. I think some women would find this rather masculine but I don't mind it all. There is something very festive about the spicy orange in this. I'm disappointed by the moderate sillage and longevity considering the hefty price tag. This is the perfect scent for when it is grey and cold outside.

Absolutely gorgeous scent. I thought it was going to be OK by the notes and what people were saying on reviews, wrong...it's absolutely great ! A+++ on scent. Bottle is a work of art. My only problem is longevity. Not bad but for the money and concentration it should at least give me 8 hours. I get like 4 then skin scent. It has a great boozy opening and the dry down is even better. I still want it in my collection, but it will have to be got a good price. I do own Bentley intense and they smell not even close so where that reference came from? They are both boozy frags yeah, but that's about it.

NO, Bentley Intense is only close in the opening, I said close, not identical, after that Idole's dry down is fabulous and Bentley's is mediocre at best. No contest, Idole smells freak'in great. I had a woman last night, tell me how great I smelled and it was 5 to 6 hours after application. I asked her if was to strong and she said no, it was perfect. The last time I wore the Bentley, someone told me, and not in a good way, I smelled like Hi Karate, a drug store colonge. So let's put this Bentley vs Lubin's Idole thing to bed, because it's like comparing the NY Yankee's to a little league team.

Splendido. Rum ambrato avvolto da un velo d'incenso e spezie su sandalo soave. Elegante e fine. Di classe, sexy. Il capolavoro di Olivia Giacobetti. Mi ricorda un altro meraviglioso liquoroso, Fusion Sacreè for him MB, anche se in quest'ultimo la nota caramello/dolce s'impone con maggiore forza... Idole è più legnoso, un incenso altamente seducente. Poesia e seduzione allo stato puro. Per quanto riguarda la persistenza il Bekkali risulta molto potente, mentre Idole dopo due ore si trasforma in skinscent fumoso delicato. Scelta impossibile fra i due. Li desidero entrambi.

@RHONORAY couldn't have said it better. Actually I really don't know who started that this and Bentley smell the same as this is miles ahead of it both in terms of smell and quality. I even like Bentley for him intense so much I did a YouTube review on it recently, so that should tell you something. My ONLY beef with this fragrance is longevity. I can't seem to get more than a few hrs on MY skin. But the blend and quality of this is superb ! And that smell....go that smell is the best boozy frag I have got my nose on to date

Wow! I was shocked to see this fragrance was only launched in 2011 because it smells EXACTLY like the inside my childhood next door neighbor's house. The leather, the bakhoor and the balsamic-y base just brings me right back to sitting in my neighbor's kitchen after a summer afternoon of playing in our front yards while her mom packed a plate of food for me to take home. Subtle and comforting. I got this as a sample but I will be buying a full bottle of this wonderfully nostalgic fragrance.

This is truly gorgeous! I have just dabbed it on no more than 30 minutes ago, but it is strongly reminiscent of my beloved DK Chaos!! Perhaps a bit more spice, but very close. For those who remember the original Chaos, you will probably love this. I sure do! Edit: after several delightful hours of wear, it is indeed a dead ringer for Chaos! I prefer feminine-leaning perfumes, and this dos not smell masculine to me; very unisex. Creamy, woody, and smooth.

Idole EDP is a beautiful masterpiece by Olivia Giacobetti. Starts off with a boozy rum with bitter orange, saffron and cumin. The dry down is the real beauty of this fragrance. I get citrus plus frankincense, labdanum, amber and leather. Just when you think it's gone, you get a whiff and there it is again and again. On the elevator on my way to my office I got two compliments. That made my day. Very classical and sophisticated. The bottle is beautiful.

Plush and luxurious. And yes, that boozy accord of rum is very much there, but never overpowering. Idole is kind of a darker version of the equally exquisite Dries van Noten by Frederic Malle. They both have in common that powdery note that has a certain softening quality; very elegant. A great reference oriental that any guy would feel comfortable with. 9/10

Summer trade winds sweet spice! The spice is incredible! It is what you would imagine the ships smelled of on the old spice trade routes! Rich, sweet, aromatic! As it dries down you get a bit more of the woods that add a rich elegance to this scent. For anyone that loves spices - this is the one that will give you the spice of your fantasies.

Complex amber aroma with incense and labdanum that is boozy, sweet, and spicy. This perfume exudes wealth and sex appeal. Saffron incense with a boozy twist and sweet labdanum incense. The base is sour, spicy, and steamy, with crushings of crystalline amber and sparse, smokey oak. It also has an excellent sillage trail and is long-lasting.

Stunning, I absolutely love this, the bottle and packaging alone are a work of art. On me it is slightly sweet, woody, smoky and spicy and I adore it. The only wish I have is it lasted longer on me, the longevity isn't the best but on the plus side it's an excuse to put more on, I want to drown in it, liternally love, love, love it.

Fantastically boozy saffron and sweet labdanum incense. Sour, spiced, sweaty with crushings of crystalline amber and scant, smoky wood in the base. Idole sets my heart aflutter much like Costume National 21 does; perhaps this is even more similar to CN Scent Intense. Sophisticated and sexy, totally signature worthy for either sex.

the mix of cumin, saffron, rum, dark wood = turpentine on my skin for some reason . But just a half hour later, it becomes a nice subtle spicy smoky scent. Unfortunately not long after that, it's barely noticeable. Nothing I would buy a full bottle of, I'm afraid, but I will enjoy the rest of my sample.

I have found this product so lovable. it's woody,balsamic perfume. it's a longevity monster and the sillage is good. Dry-down is excellent.Very nice fragrance. Smells like a combination of rum,saffron,Incense and black cumin.Very unique scent.It is good perfume for all seasons,it's wearable.

I've tried the EDT and I definitely prefer this one simply because of the greater projection and longevity. This is something you'd wear while drinking mai tais by the poolside in a luxory retreat in morraco while having an affair w/ a married diplomat or something.

Oh so gentle. At first it smells like almost nothing. Then it warms up and smells like enriched skin musk, enriched with unisex vibes of saffron, amber. maybe just a little bit of incense. I feel I could drench myself in it and it wouldn't be too much. Very nice.

I love this scent. Rum, woodsy notes, saffron, incense, sandalwood, amber, leather, bitter orange and others, wow!! It's incredible, nice smell. The elegance in a drop of perfume. Fall and winther. Amazing!!! Longevity 9/10 Sillage 10/10 Scent 9/10

For all that think longevity is an issue, it's not. I felt the same way, but after over 6 hours a woman walked past me and said "wow you smell great," Your nose may have gotten numb to this beauty, but trust me it's still there.

I agree with Jack Hunter, this is Beautiful stuff. 6 - 7 hours after application I'm still getting compliments. I wasn't sure it was still there and then I catch a wiff. BEAUTIFUL and not offensive or over powering. I LOVE IT..

Kind of similar to Bentley intense (which I love) but I can detect the saffron, and this is just a little better than intense. This is a gorgeous fragrance if you are into boozy fragrances.

I really like this one BUT performance is lackluster and it's really expensive. While not a substitute, try Bentley for Men Intense or Fan di Fendi Pour Homme Assoluto.

Amazingly I revisited Akaad and Idole EDP recently courtesy of samples from Luckyscent. I always have a bottle of Korrigan on my shelf being one of my top 20 rotation. Weirdly today I have Histoire D’Parfum 1899 Hemingway on. Also one of my top 20. I often hear and read about people’s agreement and disagreement between perfumes. I would clarify this review by firstly explaining that for my experienced nose Initio Prive Rehab, 1899 and Spice Bomb extreme (and Pierre Guillaume Liquer Charnelle) are remarkably similar and performance is in that order. I do not own Rehab though I have sampled it many times and own many bottles of Initio - unfortunately for the price 1899 is much better value and I think the best price v performance giving a Sweet cinnamon, lavender, vanilla balsamic smooth spiced feel that is linear and pungent for a day. When I bough my first bottle of Korrigan I acknowledged then that it was similar though the dusty ground spices gave it a natural less boozy feel and was different enough to justify an FB. it lasts a long time, the sweet spices stay present all day giving it more of an olfactory challenge than the others though at at a lower albeit strong enough level. Yesterday and today I also dabbed Akaad and Idole on my other arm. I remember now why I did not purchase them. They too are similar in presentation despite the notes and arguably less in performance with a quick evolved drydown where it differs the most. Akkad has a gorgeous creamy boozy orange and bergamot layer that disappears quickly revealing out of all a darker earthier dustier spice with the sweetness held as just a touch in the background. its a bit more cardamom heavy with everything else wrapped around it. I absolutely love it’s opening but the drydown is where for me the greatest importance is. Everything in the end seems includes a bitter citrus touch that seems darker, hence the balsamic feel, like they are placed in a jar with a frozen slab of stone courtesy of the labadanum, olibanum, amber etc Idole on the other hand is quite boozier and sweeter for longer almost paralleling Rehab, 1899 and SBE. It turns after an hour and the sweetness remains with less booze and a dusty slight piquancy developes - kinda going from an orange, green boozy feel to a dry brown cocoa desert and a touch of syrupy booziness. It is also warmer whilst less potent. I own many Idole perfume - so I speak not to deride the products or the brand but to say lovely as they are I have found my emotional and logical alternatives. Having said that if you are looking for a sweet boozy cinnamon/lavender saffron, cardamom, gourmand, balsamic etc scent - give all these a try - they are all great and I can understand why someone would prefer one over the over in a comparison...

شروع عطربا یک یورش فلفل مانند شروع میشه که این شروع طوفانی تنها 10 ثانیه دوام داره. بعد از اون بوی زیره با ملایمت خاصی بمشام میرسه. این بوی زیره خیلی تند و قوی نیست که کاملا تایپ عطر رو ادویه ای کنه. بعد از حدود 10 دقیقه دیگه اثری از زیره وجود نداره و عرق نیشکر (رام) و زعفران در کنار رایحه چوبی با هم شروع به نمود میکنند. در ابتدا این روایح باعث میشوند که بویی که از عطر در این مرحله از نت میانی به مشام میرسه؛ حالتی شبیه به عطر بنتلی اینتنس داشته باشه. در اینجا میشه گفت که تفکیک رایحه ی میانی ایدول لوبین از بنتلی اینتنس تقریبا امکان پذیر نیست. و جالبه که حتی قدرت و پخش بوی دو عطر مذکور در این فاز تقریبا بهم نزدیکه. بعد از اون یک حالت دودی خیلی ملایم به عطر اضافه میشه و ایدول راه خودش رو از بنتلی اینتنس تا حدودی جدا میکنه ولی بازم شباهتی به بنتلی اینتنس داره از نظر پخش بو تقریبا پخش بوی متوسط رو به پایین داره و دوام عطر هم کاملا متوسطه نکته ای که از نظر ظاهری برای من خیلی گیرا هست؛ طراحی و شکل عطره. اسم این عطر در زبان فرانسوی بت (صنم) هست. شکل عطر هم مانند مرد عربی هست که از پشت سر دیده میشه در حالیکه جامه ای بلند مشکی پوشیده و دستاری قهوه ای رنگ به سر داره. گویا داره در اون حالت به بت خودش نگاه میکنه.... ا به نظر من در مقایسه بین دو عطر یاد شده؛ با توجه به قیمت پایینتر بنتلی و پخش و دوام تقریبا یکسان این دو با هم؛ اولویت خرید با بنتلی هست --------------------------------------------------------------------- Immediately after spray, offensive paper is detected, but this offensive scent isn't be stay more than 10 second. After that you can smell a mild scent of caraway for about 10minute. then ram and saffron and woody note is added and perfume scent will be very similar to Bentley, Intense. Similarity of heart note of Idole with Bentley is so much, as you can't difference between them. about 45 minute after spray, a mild incense is added and perfume will be different with Bentley. Totally, Idole is very similar with Bentley intense, so it is better to buy Bentley for lower price. It is very interesting for me that the design of this perfume is so clever and it is related to its name. The translated name of this perfume from French to English is: "Idol". This bottle remind me an Arab man that is seen from back angle, he clothed a long black cloth and wear brown turban and he is seeing its idol.

Whisky and Coca Cola and some exotic spices. After I used it, my business partner said I smelled like Haribo's Coca Cola flavored gummy bears. It's of course much deeper than that. And I quite like the smell. But for it's price, I wish the performance was better on my skin. It smells for days on the clothes though. A week after I sprayed it on my clothes, it was still smelling amazingly strong and beautiful. One good thing about this frag is In my search for the cheapest Idole, I discovered this little gem of a Spanish website called maisonparfum.com. Even including the Fedex charge to US, it was still much cheaper than the American online and brick and mortar stores. For this line, my preference is still Lubin Akkad. It has more character. But if you are young and going clubbing or for a night out with your young friends, Idole is certainly better for you. Update on 4/17/2018: I am afraid the maisonparfum also increased their price of this frag and Akkad by 40% since I bought it a couple of months ago. For the US market now it makes it too expensive since you have to pay for shipping as well. Buying from Luckyscent is cheaper for people living in the States.

Idole by Lubin is a Great Fragrance, Elegant, Boozy, Sweet, Spicy and Complex. It is not similar to Bentley for Men Intense but It is similar to Upper Ten for men by Lubin just fifty percent in dry down. I tried it two times and I received a sample of that too. When I tried it on my skin I fell in love with it at first sniff but dry down changed my mind and I bought another perfume. There is a Same DNA between Idole and Upper Ten in dry down by Lubin! One of The note in middle on Official Site is Doum Palm and is not Palm tree! Idole opens up with a bit sweet boozy warm spicy that it is very nice and Unique , then dry down is sweet resinous, balsamic, ambery and woody that is not unique! Overall, Idole smells so good with High Quality and Composition. It is perfect for fall and winter. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 /10

first i smell woods, then shortly thereafter a booziness from the rum. it's very smooth, and i immediately i get a memory of a trip to NYC during hurricane sandy. the subways were down but m'luv and i went out venturing on buses and foot and ended up in bar in downtown brooklyn on a rainy evening. it was all dark wood walls and golden lights. i drank whiskey that night, not rum, but this scent calls up that memory and gives me a general feeling of a traditionally masculine designed space and the mood and scents and energy there. after a few more minutes, i get some incensy saffron, rounding out the scent and sweetening it a bit. i also get a bit of spicy bitterness, almost peppery. maybe it's the caraway? overall i'd say this is a nice smooth booze/woods scent that leans more traditionally masculine.

This is a great fragrances, its like all your favourite winter fragrance notes mixed up in one with the dark, earthy, boozy, spicy, woody, smokey notes. When you first spray this you get a hit of boozey rum, with spicy cloves and saffron in the background. it sweetens up after a while and does smell like spicy rum and coke as people have said, for a bit. the dry down is a warm musky, spicy leather scent. its amazing you have to smell yourself to appreciate it. overall 7.5/10. great! only problem is longevity and projection for a eau de parfum it only last about 3-5 hours on my skin?

want it just for the bottle alone, but I liked this one a lot. I seem to like just about anything with rum, and this one has a strong rum top note. Incense and saffron are pretty prominent throughout. I would mainly describe this as a dark woodsy scent. I would guess its the incense and leather backing up the woods, and not so much ebony wood having a naturally dark woods vibe just because of its color, but I can't really say not being familiar with that note. The dry down does seem somewhat similar to Akkad, sort of a sweet amber. I might purchase this one sometime in the future.

Boozy, sweet, spicy complex amber scent with incense and labdanum. This is the smoking jacket you’ve borrowed from a sleep over on your boyfriends yacht. You find a forgotten money clip in one of the pockets and a receipt from the liquor store in the other. That’s never happened to me, but this scent oozes money and sex appeal so I should be allowed my indulgence. I like this line from Lubin. I think for now my heart is set on Akkad which is more feminine on my skin, though I would still classify Indole de Lubin as unisex. As expected, top shelf perfume with great performance.

I get leather, aldehydes, moss and something that feels like orange peel straight away. It’s powdery, slightly fizzy, with a green, somewhat rough edge I can’t quite put my finger on. The leather is a bit animalic, and I get a touch of something boozy, with a hint of sweet cinnamon. As it wears on, and it really does last for hours, it turns drier and more floral, jasmine and rose perhaps, with a soft smoky, ambery warmth in the background. It feels very elegant. It brings to mind the 1950s: a woman at a formal dinner in black velvet with a long cigarette holder in hand.
