Jardin Rouge

Lubin Jardin Rouge from the finest Lubin. I actually bought a Vetiver from Lubin and got rid of it because I just didn't understand Vetiver. I regret it now, because I remember it and it was just wonderful with my new perspective on Vetiver. I now enjoy Vetiver. Oh well, Lubin is a superb house so if you want to explore you will be pleased. I now use Roja Dove and Lubin as a way to sample the best items. I get a top-of-the-top. Other brands I fail to mention in building my "top of the top". Later, I explore others and kind of do a "sort out". Using this method I learn what is good, and develop a sense. Sometimes I can find a real mind-blowing fragrance for little money. I try to buy smart, but will sometimes pay alittle more. First, I think it is important to explore the "known best". I got Jardin Rouge in a sample. I bought a full bottle. I don't really like 'Mountain Man' woodsy. I don't really do the Forest Thing. I may get into it. This is truly a sophisticated blend--described as "Floral Woody Musk". Very Sophisticated, well blended, underspoken. Packaging:The bottle has a neat casting pattern on the glass--Lubin does this pattern on their glass. Really feels heavy, solid in the hand. First rate. The Notes: I detect the Black Currant as some kind of dark berry on the open. The bright kick of Pink Pepper is also there. Just a small drift of Magnolia and a Rose scent that is pure class. (Rose seems to be a note that is just messed up in alot of fragrances--just from my viewpoint.) All along you sense the Sandalwood which I mistook for Cedar. Maybe the Oakmoss threw me off. Oakmoss is so cool, and seems to manifest in different ways amoung brands and blending approach. Oakmoss is way cool. Either way, there is a nice rustic genuiness to this fragrance. The White Musk may be adding to the Base with a subtle, clean-smelling musk. You can actually sense the base notes immediately upon the open! Performance: Pumped it up with some Molecule 01 iso-e super. It maybe increased the performance about 20%. Settles to a skin scent in only about 30 minutes. Molecule 05 might Turbo it more. These molecules can increase contrast and projection. In my opinion it is quite subtle, but fun. This is a gentle accessory to your overall image/look/scent. It is not a centerstage, dominant scent. It is a classy, whisper of a scent. This scent is liveable, you can get it off of you. You can get it off of your clothes. If you are a heavy rotator of fragrance (I am) be glad you don't enter a long term scent marriage with this one. It is really fun to re-spray because the opening and drydown is just exquisite!!!! Super sexy in a clean, straightforward, natural way. It is also fun to spray because the atomizer is perfect.

I bought this today from a local perfumery after smelling a bunch of things that varied from hyper feminine to hyper masculine, but several like this were (to my nose) in the middle. I’m a man, I like all kinds of fragrances but this one has me thinking of the unisex vibe a little differently. I occasionally like some uber masculine ones, and also like mostly masculine with a little feminine leaning. I feel it balances out really nicely in a lot of instances. I realize tastes are subjective, but I respect the need to categorize to some extent. I’m not sure how likely I would have been to try this had I known the overall note breakdown, but it’s one I tried on my skin at the perfumery, after liking it on a test strip. I really like it on my skin and am really glad I tried it. It’s labeled more feminine, but I kind of feel it’s close to the middle. I will say though, I’ve barely owned this and that’s an important note to make. Anyways, as to the fragrance after that general take on it.. it’s incredible. It’s so well balanced. It is sweet in a fruity way, but also fresh spicy. I do detect the rose, but it doesn’t overpower it at all to me. If you’re someone who hates that note period, it may not be a good match. The rose note type is kind of a creamy floral, but it is a background compliment to the overall vibe. The overall fragrance is very very smooth and relaxing. **update, well time actually did make a difference I’m afraid. The rose came out more, and is even fruitier to my nose now. I still think it’s amazing, and calming and smooth, and am happy I tried it; however, I now agree with the overall assessment that this is very feminine. So much that I may have to swap it now. Too bad! Strange how smell and taste alter after a few exposures. **

this is a very pretty red berry fragrance that sits close to the skin and its a pity but it doesnt last long enough for the price.

Jardin Rouge fell flat for me and I am a big lover of Thomas Fontane. It really reminds of Ormande Jayne's Champaca, a fragrance I did not like. A very murky musk runs through this fragrance giving it a strange feeling. The fruitiness has a spoiled smell as well. This perfume also reminds me a bit of Cow by Zoologist. Quite green, murky, and weirdly fruity. Should have more rose and the fruits should be fresher. Very strange release from a house that rarely disappoints.

I've got a sample of this fragrance with the purchase of another one. I normally "blind test" fragrances in this cases, trying to understand gender, notes and price range. My guess was: - it is feminine - it is a middle designer range around $120 for 100 ml - notes: rose, red pepper, musc and a bit of citrus It is a pretty rose/pink pepper/white musc perfume. Really really nice, fantastically well blended. If you like pink pepper, it you would enjoy it here. Magnolia adds beauty to the rose and rose smells so fresh and nice. No single note is chemical or unpleasant. However it is nothing groundbreaking there. If you want a reliable rose/musc, which would be versatile and good for any season, here you are. Performance is not very strong both on longevity and projection. I can not justify the price of it. I would be paying for it ~$1/ml and no more.

This is my first niche perfume. I like it very much. It's not a complicated sent but still different then others. I would call it a "happy" warm flowery sent. Packed in a beautiful simple but stylish box, not one like the regular perfume boxes. It feels like a present very time I open it. I also like the style of the bottle very much. Simple strong design. Easy fragrance to wear day and night. It is not going to be my signature sent, therefore I miss the wow factor and besides the longevity is less long then I would expect. But I will enjoy this one as my every day perfume till the bottle is empty.

What a beautiful surprise Jardin Rouge has been! Looking at the pyramid depicted here I would say that the notes are VERY out of order! The woody, musky base notes kick in first, then a fresh burst of spicy berry only to dry down to a very original mix of soft rose, juicy raspberry, feminine magnolia and pungent wallflower. I find Jardin Rouge so incredibly different from anything I’ve ever worn! Absolutely delightful from earthy start to sparkling finish.

I received a free sample of this fragrance recently. It reminded me of those red jubes or fruit pastilles. Pleasant but not my style, would probably be appreciated by those who love sweet fruity fragrances. Not much sillage but reasonable staying power, sits very close to the skin.
