Lucky You for Men

Gorgeously green grassy goodness. The smell of lush green grass that has just barely started to dry from the morning dew in the April sun. You'll be hard pressed to find anything this amazing for this cheap of a price. Only projects moderately for an hour before becoming a skin scent that lasts maybe three more hours tops. I've seen people compare this to Curve minus the fruit notes, but who wants fruit in their grass? If anyone knows of another grass dominant fragrance that lasts longer than this please let me know. Until then, I'm writing a letter to the Lucky Brand CEO to ask him to make an extreme EDP version of this: Carlos Alberini 540 S Santa Fe Ave Los Angeles, CA 90013

I just got this again after not smelling it since around 2000/2001. It’s hard for me to smell it without getting emotional. It belonged to my big brother, and I would always sneak some when he was away. I’d be in there snooping around while listening to his Incubus cd, knowing he’d kick my butt if he came home. It smells just like I remember it then. Very green, and somewhat sharp, and I sort of get this gasoline smell under it all. It was cool then, and it’s beautiful now. When I smell this, I’ll think of who I was back then. Who we all were back then. Parts of me have been lost to time over the years, but now I can have a tiny piece back.

Absolutely one of my favorites. And No I am NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS AS OTHER REVIEWERS SUGGEST OF PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS COLOGNE!! I have been wearing this since I was 10 I am almost 24 now This is a regular in my cologne rotations. It is just awesome everything about this cologne is perfect. I am glad that it is no longer sold in department stores and has come down in price I remember when it was first introduced it was about 50.00 for the small and at that time I couldn't afford it so I had to rely on samples but only for special occasions. Perfect in everyway and they should never change it.

Had a bottle in middle school and going into 9th grade back in 2003. I just now bought a second bottle and it smells EXACTLY the same! So glad it hasn’t been reformulated like so many other fragrances have. It’s an easy blind buy. Very linear, super fresh out the shower scent. While I wouldn’t wear it on a date night, it works for basically anything else! And for $20 for a 100 ML you really can’t pass it up. I would put this above nautica voyage, cool water, aspen, or any other classic freshie. It’s great 9/10

This was one of the big five that got me into frags. Preferred Stock in my early teens, Cool Water in my late teens, Aqua Di Gio and this in my 20’s and 30’s. And finally, La Coste Blanc in my 40’s and then I just jumped into collecting with both feet. All that to say this: I really love this stuff. It’s fresh and clean and so inexpensive. I always got compliments with it. Such a simple thing to wear. Truly a dumb reach.

This was a big hit in the early 2000's when I was in high school. I remember I had friends that wore this and it was good and noticeable. I have a small bottle of this now and I love it! It smells so green and fresh. It's a real grassy green scent and it is very appealing. Women will like this one and it's very youthful smelling (Teens to 30's). I need to get a bigger bottle! I give this a 9.3/10

I would follow a man to the end of the world if he trailed this cologne behind him. This one is one of my all-time favorite men’s colognes. I always make sure my husband has a bottle. And I’m not opposed to wearing it myself. I like to spray myself with it at night fresh out of the shower when I’m getting in bed. This is such a clean innocent fragrance. Reminds me of being young again.

I haven't worn this for a few years now until today and I've been missing out! I forgot how much I enjoy this fragrance, simple and clean. It sort of reminds me of Mugler Cologne. It's going back into my rotation. BTW, why is there this "Lucky You for Men" and another one in the database called "Luck You Liz Claiborne"? They look identical but the notes are different.

Uncomplicated, unfussy, and mostly linear on my skin. After an initial sharp burst, it morphs into what reminds me of a glass of lemonade sweetened with a floral-infused sugar. I enjoy it, and find myself gravitating to it on weekends rather than for office or formal wear. Its sweetness would work well on a woman...

This is the absolute perfect fragrance for a garden party, walk in the park, or any other summer/spring, casual, outdoor activity. Performs very well in the sun and heat. If you enjoyed the (sadly) discontinued Gap Gras, then this is a decent substitute.

I revisited this beauty after many many years and I still love it! I'm not sure how old my bottle is but I'm guessing at least 15 years. To me this is a hidden gem and stills smells great. Nice green, clean and refreshing.

Clean, fresh, green, sporty!! A great smell that most people will like. Moderate projection, lasts about 3-4 hours before it's completely gone. In the same family as Alfred Sung Paradise but a million times better IMO.

Very clean, fresh and crisp soapy with a little floral and some subtle masculinity, definitely love it a very good cheapy has some nostalgia for me as well price and performance on this make it 8 out of 10.

someone said it smells like celery lol, i see it. fresh + green opening, musk + wood in the dry down creates a sharp green scent, cant go wrong with this for less than 20 bucks!!

Absolutely one of my favorites... I adore this fragrance. It would mean a lot to me if it would last longer, it's like the sent is gone within 15 minutes smh.

the first spray smells woody and spicy but the dry down smells really clean fresh and green. in my opinion this is more of a young, teenager scent.

Lucky You Men Cologne opens very softly with notes of fresh grass and floral notes that resemble lavender. The grass note isn’t too strong, is rather a green touch added for freshness; similarly, the floral notes are there to create a soft clean-like aroma. The cardamon listed as a mid-note is almost imperceptible. In just a moment, the fain base-notes can be perceived, and, rather than individual notes, they all come up as a mix of soft woody, and green accords. The opening is very weak; the dry-down is even weaker. Once Lucky You Men Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very poor performing, soft green (grass-like) and soft floral (lavender-like) fragrance with faint woody and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, clean, fresh, light, refreshing, sporty, masculine, young, diurnal, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 5/10. However, consider its poor performance. SIMILAR: Sport and fresh fragrances are very common; it is also very common their low performance. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense is a moderate performing sport and casual-wear fragrance. If you are looking for a reasonable priced and good performing fresh fragrance, consider the clone house Grand Parfums, some of their best clones are Bond No 9 Men’s Scent for Peace, Eros and Y live, all for under $20. SUMMARY: A very poor performing, soft green (grass-like), and soft floral (lavender-like) fragrance with faint woody and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, clean, fresh, light, refreshing, sporty, masculine, young, diurnal, and pleasant.

I like what jcastano said here as well as interesting perspective from JazzBirdSinger. I find it to be synthetic, but there is something I am fond of here - and I believe it to be the fun, young, clean, green grassy notes and a nice clover with cardamom & tamarind that blend well with the cotton flower & bamboo in the heart. A nice bright opening that is a bit sharp (with some alcohol on top) but calms down nicely. Then, the rosewood, sandalwood and teak wood notes appear along with a nice white musk - it's all clean fun with just enough of that "something" in the green-colored juice that makes me say - "Hey, this is fun!" Maybe I like it because I don't have to take it too serious. Also, I got this when it first came out. I was in my mid-to-late 20's, just got married and my wife threw it in while were buying a pair of Lucky Jeans for each of us. She got the pink juice in the bottle "For Women" and it was all smiles. :-) I guess, strangely, this has stayed around in my Spring/Summer rotation for simply feeling good. I last bought a bottle for myself and my wife (for memory's sake about 2 years or so ago). To me, this is a sort of aromatherapy/happy/relaxing scent. That is what I like about jcastano's review - he gets the "vibe" that I do with this...mine is just a little less serious, but I like it all the same. I cannot possibly compare this to anything in the fragrance world that is of high-quality, but for the price and knowing you get a blast of youth and green notes with a fair drydown...all-in-all, it just seems to hang around. I have eliminated a lot of fragrances from my youth, but this one came a bit later and it was sheer, playful joy then...and it remains so. No score. Just something I will occassionally spray on, smell fresh and go to something more serious in the evening. But, surpringly, this one still gets compliments. In the end, this just makes me feel a bit happier when I put it on - a totally casual scent that will not offend anyone, including you. Smile. Be happy. "Lucky You"...as, you are able to spend a little money on a bottle of fragrance and spray it on to smell good for a few hours while the same amount of money could feed an entire family in a Third World country for several days.

A scent that doesn’t need to shout to be noticed. A clean, grounded start to the day that stays with you without ever weighing you down. Simple? Maybe. Soapy? A little. Classic? Perhaps. Effortless? Absolutely.

This is a very sharp green synthetic scent. It is sharp in the opening, and the sharpness persists throughout the middle never letting up. It does eventually fade after approximately 6~8 hours. Then the woods become apparent, which are nice, but average, not amazing. I don't reject a fragrance for being synthetic. In fact I often like synthetic scents, especially if they are green. For me this fragrance is okay. I don't hate it, but I doubt I would wear it regularly. The fragrance is like a 16 boy. Very loud and boisterous, but little actual substance. He has lots of dreams he is willing to shout at you, but is not old enough to have accomplished anything. When the noise stops, when the base comes out, all that is left are very mundane wood notes. I suspect, most people will respond to this fragrance in one of three ways, 80% will hate it for being so sharp. They will have read the reviews and see the ads and never bother to try it (hence you don't see more "dislike" votes above). 15% will be okay with it (like myself) because they don't mind trying a very synthetic scent, on the chance they like it, but will ultimately pass. Finally there will be the rare 5% who really like it. So if you don't mind the synthetic scents and like green fragrance, give this a try. You may be one of the exceptional 5%.

This was my signature scent back in high school, and I must have gone through 3 or 4 bottles of it. It's honestly the best cheapie scent I've owned. It's obviously pretty sweet, but the freshness really balances it and turns it into a decently fresh, masculine scent that is really great for most settings. I definitely agree with the comment below that says this smells like grass that took a bubble bath. It's got a great combination of fresh spice and woody sweetness. I honestly would have no problem wearing this as a daily today. It smells much higher quality than the other cheapies like Nautica Voyage and Cool Water, and you can pretty much use it as much as you want because it's not too strong. Overall, I have to give it a 6/10. Even though I like it and it's affordable and wearable, it's really too sweet and synthetically sweet to give it true consideration. However, as a cheapie, and if you're in youre a teenager, this is really a 10/10.

I love this cologne and to me its really under rated. I get a lot of compliments with this but I think its really overlooked because its cheaper and sold in walmart. Its a great everyday use type of cologne that is great for the office and everday wear. As far as the smell itself goes. To me its a green,floral,soapy smell that smells like irish spring soap with some floral and woody undertones in the background. Its very appealing and although it wont blow anyone away or overly impress anyone, its still very pleasant and a scent thats very inoffensive. Performance wise it lasts anywhere from 4-6 hours and projects pretty well for 2 hours and the remainder of the scent you will have a nice scent bubble about a half foot away from the skin. All in all id rate this a 7.75 out of 10 ! Its a very pleasant smell that has above average performance but its still not quite in the league of some of the better frags out there.

I've been blind-buying several fragrances as I'm getting into the hobby. This was one of the first I picked. And while I like the scent okay; very fresh, clean, kinda soapy and artificial; it just doesn't last at all. Seems to be gone in an hour, but it also seems immune to over-spraying. I can't call it a good value because it just takes so much and then it's gone. I would recommend it specifically for after a gym shower. Just blast on a few sprays when you're done and you'll be fresh and clean till you're settled at home and it's starting to wear off. Also the atomizer on mine is very mediocre and stiff to actuate. But I do like the cap style; a hard rubber, and the bottle is a nice classic design.

This is my first review, so be kind. I actually like the way this scent is on me. I enjoy the fresh grassy smell and the associations it brings. The later bamboo scent is also very appealing. I don't get the harsher chemical scents others have noted. Maybe I just have a lucky chemistry. Despite that, I don't plan on purchasing this again anytime soon. It's just very weak on me, disappearing after only a few hours. Unless I take it with me, it barely makes it to lunchtime. And that with very little projection. Based on scent alone, I would rate it 4 of 5. Because it's so weak, I have to say it's no mor than a 3 at best. A shame.

My following comment may suprise you, "It is a sort of an A&F Fierce flanker". Abercrombie & Fitch's mega seller comes to mind but this has a "plastic-like" and "green-esque" angle to it. I'll wear it strictly for casual warm weather daytime maybe night. I would not wear it for more serious occasions or cooler weather expecting people to take me seriously in this. It's a younger crowd "smeller" to me. It can be inexpensive so you should'nt have to worry about losing big money if you don't like it.

Lucky you for men smells like tripping, and faceplanting onto a freshy mowed yard. Grass, clovers, grass, dandelions, and more grass. Perhaps a smidgen of dew. (No, not Mountain Dew.) And also grass. Out of all seriousness It’s not terrible, but it isn’t my favorite. I guess if I had nothing else available to choose, I would use it on a hot summer day. It’s light and pretty fresh, and herbal for sure, and I’m sure it’ll bring the Luck O’ th’ Irish when you spray it on. Thanks for reading, Deuces.

Wore this in college. This scent has a huge nostalgic impact on me even though I only graduated 6 years ago lol. I only had 2 colonges at the time; Lucky You & Cool Water. Lucky You is an easy blind buy. Smells like you're fresh out the shower after using Irish Spring soap. One of the best cheap scents you could buy. Perfect beginner scent when you're financially challenged & aren't in position to buy Chanel, Dior, or YSL. Like the average college kid.

This was one of the first frags I ever owned. Every time I put it on its instant nostalgia. Now that I have shared my life, let’s talk about the frag. It’s a light airy green scent, perfect for those spring days and great for the office. My only catch is the longevity, projection is an appropriate arms length, but your not getting much more than a few hours at best. All in all perfect for spring or even a summer patio meal.

Soapy, synthetic and pleasant, this is one I remember when it came out. It smelled like nothing else out there, and still does. It's a youthful scent, and can linger for a while. Good projection. Can induce a headache with how synthetic it is, so, don't over spray. Part of a sampler. I would not buy the full bottle, but, enjoy wearing it from time to time. An ok value.

This fragrance is right up the alley for teen boys,but l still wear it from time to time in the summer. It's very green,like granny smith apple green,crisp and quite refreshing. My older sons (13 & 16 yrs old) use this more than any of my fragrances. It has moderate longevity & sillage. If you have young boys this would make a great gift.

Got this from Marshalls before. Like a while back. Grass-y notes, which i really like. Not really smelling the florals here. I also agree that it has that highschooler vibe. Very juvenile scent. But i really like it, makes me feel young and emergized. I have a back-up bottle just in case.

My older brother wore this circa 2003-2005. Sometimes my mom would ask me to fold the houshold laundry, and his shirts coming out of the dryer always smelled the best. Will always bring me back there with him. he's no longer in my life. I will probably start crying if i smell this again

Clean and green smelling. very much a soapy vibe. I can see how some view it as being for a younger crowd as it isn't a complex fragrance, but I see it as being more a situation appropriate scent. Late spring,summer, daytime. Inexpensive, but a good longevity fragrance.

Smells amazing but just wish it lasted longer :( It smells like an expensive shaving cream. Very fresh and vibrant with soft spicy undertones. Unfortunately, after about 1hr, I can barely detect it. Not really surprised seeing as you can pick this up for $20.

Its not bad at all. Not very strong, kind of blah, but not bad - worth owning. Cant compare it to anything but standard good cologne, certainly less green, crisp, and sweet than I imagined and more manly and musky.

Lucky You is a nice crisp green woody smell that starts strong but settles easy. Right fragrance for casual wear with blue jeans and tee. Great cologne for a youngster just starting out also

Before I start, let me say what I like about this fragrance. In a time when the trend is towards blue fragrances or citrus top notes and turning towards niche fragrances and even Ouds it seems, I am so happy to have this beautiful green fresh cologne to wear so that I can have something different.Having said that, I wore this for 20+ years then decided I needed to get a different cologne since I was getting older and thought I should have something more sophisticated and appropriate. I love Bleu De Chanel especially the Parfum, ended up getting a bottle of that. Got some nice fresh scents, Coach for Men, Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Jimmy Choo Man, Gucci Guilty Black. At some point soon I'll get some Green Irish Tweed. I love them all and now I'm getting into Niche fragrances. But you know what? I still love this cheap ass synthetic green bottle of Lucky for You. And the more people thumb their noses at it, the more I love wearing it. You really think anyone cares if you're wearing a $300 cologne or a $20 cologne? If you do, you either run in very shallow circles or you're a narcissist. Either way I love the green leafy, mossy scent this has while still being fresh. I have yet to find a comparable alternative other than Green Irish Tweed. I've seen Parade L'Homme referenced a few times so I'll be trying that. PR Sport is discontinued and ridiculously priced for old bottles. Performance issues can be overcome by spraying the right areas on your body to prevent you from going nose blind. It's not super pungent at 5 hours out, but it's still there and if you build up some body heat, it immediately comes back to full strength. Edit: I've worn this a couple times since the weather's cooled down and wow, maybe I forgot what this smelled like or maybe something happened to my bottle, but dang is this stuff better than I remember. Green and slightly spicy, I love it, great for fall weather day or night. I really used to love this. Now I smell it and it smells like synthetic powder. Maybe it's the new formulation but I'm not much of a fan anymore.

Bought this in high school at a Men's Wearhouse and it was alright. Just alright. If I were in high school again, I would sooner spend that money on Curve/Aspen. It's moderately better if you spray a lot of it on in one application, including clothes. Plenty of other people enjoyed the scent if they got close enough to notice anything. I, however, threw this bottle out when it was still nearly half full and seven years old.

I wore this when I was younger. Back in the day when lucky brand jeans were super in style and were actually high quality. This fragrance is essentially fresh grass and soapy notes with florals. Essentially a good fragrance. Yes it’s a bit juvenile, but still good. I’d say if you’re a younger man and you want to wear something youthful yet “vintage” this is a good solid choice.

Reminds me as a teen in the 90s. Citrus,aromatic,grassy and a little musky. To me it would be good in spring. It is a very common scent but what do you expect for $15 or so. I will say the longevity of this cologne is long for me.

Not the biggest fan of this one, but I don't hate it. I got it so that I had something to wear to a friend's wedding on short notice, and haven't used it since. Smells green, that's for sure. Grassy, soapy and clean.

Super weak, synthetic and disappointing. Smells like rubbing alcohol and grass. I received this as a gift and wear it to bed to try and get rid of it. It’s been about 4 years now.

On me, the soapy green-ness and rosewood somehow end up smelling vaguely similar to a freshly broken stalk of raw celery. Bizarrely, I still like it.
