Flying Fox

lush has reintroduced this scent in the form of body wash, and as a body lotion in their subscription service. i'm shocked there hasn't been more conversation about this scent. i can't speak to how it was formulated in 2019, but i can attest now that this scent truly is worth all of the praises it gets. if lust is slutty, wet jasmine- then flying fox is slightly-less-slutty, wet earth, jasmine, and honey. like an enchanted wood after heavy rainfall. i definitely pick up the honey and cypress sooner than the jasmine and ylang ylamg, though that could be the body wash formulation. the sweet, woody smell acts as a first impression, and the sensual florals stick close to the skin. it's very inviting. not sure the percentage of fragrance collectors who are also familiar with magic the gathering- but if you want to smell like the card ''earthbind", reach for flying fox. it may have no effect on non-flying creatures, but it will definitely have an effect of you.

This scent was a wonderful surprise. I wasn't expecting much for a 35 Euros bottle of a Jasmine centred fragrance. I absolutely love the smell of Jasmine blooming flowers, It's narcotic, addictive, joy-inducing. But I'm really not keen on synthetic Jasmine, it gives me a headache and it smells cheap. The real deal for me is Jasmine Essential oil or Absolute which are very expensive and as a result makes to scent very expensive. Flying Fox is a Jasmine dream come true, it's a white jasmine flowers delight!! Additionally, it performs like an Eau de Toilette, if not an Eau de Parfum. It ticks all the boxes. Bravo Lush!!!!!

One of my all time favorites. I was obsessed with Lush's Flying Fox body wash for years, and it's the first fragrance I've grieved when it was discontinued. Now it's back as a body spray, and the scent is as gorgeous as ever. Superbly jasmine centric, charming, and a mood-booster. I always wear this when I'm going through PMS and it significantly cheers my blue-to-bitchy moods. And my partner always compliments me when I wear it. Please never discontinue this fragrance again!

Strong, potent, honeyed almost photorealistic jasmine!! It is very sweet, less earthy, aromatic and FRESH. I feel as if it has a citrus undertone somewhere. But it's there. How on earth is this a body spray when it projects hard?!

Really enjoyed this one. Perfect for summer evenings, reminds me of being in a Mediterranean country as the sun's going down. Smells like very realistic jasmine to me, and the strength and longevity is amazing for a body spray.

I used to use the Flying Fox shower gel from Lush, it was my absolute favourite. According to the label, it had four different types of honey in it. When it was discontinued, a sales assistant at the time told me that the scent was then available in their new perfume, Lust. To me, Lust never smelt quite the same as Flying Fox because there's no honey in it, but nevertheless, Lust has been my favourite perfume ever since. Earlier this year however, I came across the Flying Fox body spray on the Lush website and immediately had to get myself some, eager to be able to smell that delicious honey again. As I was speaking to the customer service assistant on the phone, he suggested I add a Lust washcard to my order, since, and I quote, "It's the same scent as Flying Fox..." And certainly when it arrived, I'd have to say, despite the different notes listed, Flying Fox body spray is the exact scent of Lust perfume, which to my memory, was not the scent of the Flying Fox shower gel. Which is really quite confusing..... I suppose they describe these two as being in the same 'scent family?' In any case, even though I miss the honey, Lust is my absolute ride-or-die, so I'm always happy to have more of it! ETA: as of November 2020 this scent is noted on the Lush website as "leaving soon."

Definitely a twin of Lust. The majority of this review would be a comparison to it It has that same hyper-realistic jasmine grandiflorum dominant scent that pounds and throbs throughout Lust's air time. That headiness and that bright fruitiness that a jasmine grandiflorum naturally gives is accurately captured in this scent. Basically it's safe to say at this stage that it just a body mist version of Lust, so longevity-wise it's weak as hell. Scent-wise on the other hand, the drydown is where the difference rises. I find it a bit more vanillic as it dries down, so it's more perfume-like compared to its more pure and singular twin Lust. It's not as potent as Lust as it dries and progresses on my skin. It's just getting weaker, like the music video edit of an 80s pop song where the last remaining one and a half minutes or more of instrumental outro cuts to a fade out. But then again, it's just a body spray. In terms of personal preference, i'm clinging more to Lust's unhinged pureness and devotion to the jasmine note than the additional vanilla-like note on the drydown of Flying Fox.

Seriously : my collection of LUSH Body Sprays is GROWING because as longevity on all major houses now is so weak -- I am replacing some of my designer favorites with these now! A big jug for $39.99 and EVERYONE will smell you walking up to the door! Flying Fox (weird name that does not do this justice) is a WHITE HOT HEADY THICK jasmine backed with other white and yellow flowers that make this CRAZY powerful !Buttery , bold, BOMBASTIC : this makes Mugler's Alien smell like a dusty card board box. PRO TIP: as always LUSH discontinues products just like some people change their underwear. SAMPLE & BUY this NOW if you are a jasmine freak.

A shame this has been discontinued (in the US at least). It came and went rather quickly. It has the heady jasmine scent of Lust, but softened up a bit, and minus that burnt tire/ mothball note of Lust. I do like Lust, but this a softer, gentler way to get that Lush jasmine scent. I don’t get an overt over the top honey note, just a gentle sweetness with the jasmine. I’d love to see this in a solid perfume; I prefer Lush scents as solids since their scents tend to be strong, and I prefer them to stay closer to the skin.

DIS.CON.TIN.UED. Agree- this is pretty much LUST . But in BODY SPRAY FORM Flying Fox was a great value! Huge bottle compared to Lust small glass bottles. But it's gone now.
