Jilted Elf

This smells so Christmas-y! At first it smelled so weird to me but then after a minute or two the scent changed into something so warm and spicy, so winter-y! I can’t wait to wear it all through December (and maybe even November lol). To me it reminds me of Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir because it smells like Christmas to me as well.

This is a sharp citrus-cinnamon scent. I personally really enjoy it. (I was a fan of the Jilted Elf shower jelly from Lush's 2011 Christmas range.) I can understand how it might be quite polarising, it's very spicy with a green sweetness to it.

I love it! It's simple and sooo spicy with a dollop of citrus/fruitiness. Smells like a hippy family xmas. Very into it. Will wear it at least once a week until the end of cold-cool weather. 50% off at a Lush near you right now!!!

At first, I hated it, but I gave it a chance for a while. It reminds me of those super trendy "mixology" types of bars where they will take an orange or a grapefruit or some kind of citrus fruit and hold a lighter against the skin or peel and then drag the heated peel across the rim of your glass before serving. It smells exactly like that to me... Where the essential oil of grapefruit has been heated and released into or on top of a cinnamon base cocktail. Definitely smells a bit boozy too. Hard to explain but if you've been to one of these kinds of bars you know what I mean. I don't wear this as a bodyb spray but rather, more of a room spray. It overwhelms any bad smells almost immediately.

I LOVE LUSH BODY SPRAYS . This one is OK. Feels a BIT more like a room spray. It is strong and will fill a room. But as long as there's better ones in he store - no real urgency for this one. It's fresh and people will smell it on you .

I saw this in Lush and told the employee I heard it smells like gingerbread. They said “really? We all agreed it smells like wet cardboard.” I smelled it and I agree with them, it’s specifically the scent of thin papery wet cardboard, not corrugated. A photorealistic scent!!

alleged notes: figs, ginger, cinnamon, grapefruit, vodka, honey what i smell: sharpness? the vodka note in here is bananas, so grating that it is difficult to smell anything else scent event / my reaction: this is wild, it smells like college parties you regret attending

The notes just don't match the scent for me. It doesn't smell like Christmas at all to me. It smells like someone's dad in 1991. Hard pass.

Nope. This scent is a no for me. It is just too spicy. Somebody said it smells like jalapeños. Horrible scent personally.

Ha! I got the same impression as Natalie P about this Jilted Elf! To me though the Elf smelled like they drank a gallon of mead and was kicked out of the house to spend the night with the reindeer. The opening is very fresh to start with the grapefruit and cinnamon and you can sense the osmanthus come on later, I think that's what gives the slightly animalic honeyed mead effect to the fragrance at the drydown. The sillage is huge!

This smells like the dirtiest neglected elf on the shelf went on a bender, got wasted on spiked eggnog, smoked a pack of Marlboros and crashed the sleigh right into Grandmas holiday dessert platter. It’s holiday chaos in a bottle. It’s definitely not a scent to wear daily but a fun party scent for a night out during the holidays. It doesn’t come close to the beauty of Golden Pear though!
