Moominvalley

I will begin unusually with a confession: I did not purchase this fragrance as a fan of the Moomins, which I last read as a child (although I now intend to return to them). My opinion is therefore not influenced by nostalgia or childhood affection. And yet, there is so much to admire here. Lush has created many beautiful fragrances capable of bringing pure olfactory pleasure, but this one stands apart. It offers something more: a profound sense of relaxation, tranquility, and comfort. All the notes are beautifully harmonized, creating a composition of refined sweetness. I expected fresh, green nuances, yet this fragrance instead brings to my mind the aroma of delicate biscuits. A gentle bergamot, free from excessive tartness or bitterness, a calm and understated lavender, smooth and serene vanilla, with subtle resinous woody nuances in the background. The sillage is strong, and longevity on fabric lasts throughout the day. Wearing this creation feels like being held in the arms of someone who truly cares for you. Beautiful perfumes.

I'm a massive Moomin fan (xennial) so had to immediately order this without sniffing as soon as I saw it. I love it. If you like Une Nuit Nomade Sun Bleached or Ulrich Lang Lethe, you will like this. It's a bit more citrusy in the opening and has a touch more vanilla in the drydown as opposed to the musky qualities of those too. Opens fresh, citrusy and laundry-like, just like Moominmama drying her linens, and dries down a more creamy, soft and vanillic, with a cleanliness from a little lavender. It's a lovely balance and I prefer it over the other two, it's slightly more rounded and cosy, and more impactful. It will be a beautiful year-round wear in more northern climates, especially for Spring, but I also think it is going to so delightful at bedtime. The only consideration I have left is whether I buy another bottle (or two) :-)

Smells just like Dove Powder Soft! The opening is quite harsh, like opening a bottle of fabric softener. But then that vanilla and sandalwood pull to the surface, and it becomes a beautiful powder kissed skin scent. On my skin it reminds me of kitten fur? What I think Galadriel from LOTR might smell like! Also the bottle is just adorable! Such a cute collection

Smells like skittles and laundry detergent. Idk how but trust me it just works

Very clean! The concept was fresh laundry drying outdoors in the sun and I think they captured that perfectly. There's a fizziness provided by the citrus that could feel almost sherberty if it was sweeter, but as it is is very subtle and pleasant. Like fresh air. Probably my favourite fragrance from lush. Very powdery, but utterly enjoyable.

the citrus here is of the bitter/sour variety - think the pith and peel of a lemon - which sits atop the slight powdery quality of soap, and a herbaceous, airy backing. at first spray/in the bottle this scent is super sparkly and a little astringent, but on the skin settles to something very seamless, fluffy, and comforting. quite lovely :)

Gorgeous opening of citrus and vanilla which then dries down to clean washing drying in the summer sun with hints of lavender. Nothing amazing, but nice. I like it. Not even remotely similar to Camomile Satin, Melograno or Existence.

highkey feeling super mixed about this one. at first it was clean... then into middle notes it smelled SOUR on me like nasty lemony milk... finally dried into something tolerable. i have no idea what happened skin chem wise but i was not expecting this to be a heavy hitter. they can’t make me form a solid opinion on u unfortunately...

Lush are getting into the habit of jazzing up an existing fragrance in their arsenal, and popping it straight back out under another name. Moominvalley is lovely, but if you have Super Milk or Milky Bath, I would save your money and not get it. To be clear, I really like this scent - on me, it's lemon-curd sweet-and-sharp first, before drying down into starchy clean sheets on the line, and finally to a duckling-soft, gentle vanilla - but it's simply another rehash. I don't get the out-and-out Nivea/Dove/fabric softener smell people mention, but there is a laundry sharpness to it that I find really pleasant (similar to Milky Bath, or also something like Glow by Jennifer Lopez). I can see how this would be polarising, but I really enjoy it on my skin. However, in my experience performance isn't brilliant - more body spray than perfume.

A lovely fragrance but reminds me SO much of Lush Twilight which I already have! Probably because Twilight is lavender, tonka and benzoin, and this is lavender and vanilla (which smells super similar to tonka/benzoin) ... So kinda disappointed, I’m going to test it out on skin again though before I decide to return or not. The opening doesn’t smell like Twilight at all - it’s very aldehyde-forward, really smells like starchy clean cotton towels - but it quickly dries down to that Twilight-esque creamy lavender.

I enjoy both Sun Bleached and Lethe, and unfortunately this one wasn't for me. I find Sun Bleached to be fluffier and have a warm vibe, and for me Lethe starts out a bit bracing but quickly settles into cozy and comforting. Moominvalley sounded promising but all I get is sharp edges and screechy citrus. I was so hoping for the laundry or Dove soap-esque scent. A miss for me.

i liked it at first, it smelt like clean linen with a hint of lemons but this doesn’t last long at all which is very surprising for a lush perfume :( also idk if it was the perfume or something but i kept smelling rose jam as i was walking around. either it was this perfume or someone actually had on rose jam and was walking near me but idk

Lush keeps re-releasing what has already been released in a different form. I went to the store to buy it, but I smelled it first. Just as Hello Kitty fragrance was a mix of Milky Bath with a hint of Snowfairy, so too is Moominvalley - a mix of Milky Bath and a hint of Supermilk. I will not fall for their tricks anymore 🙂

I don't know what these people are talking about! This is good !! An interesting fragrance,on my skin lasts good, creamy lavender,nicely blended, something that is very special about this fragrance! I kinda want another 30ml bottle:-)

Smells like laundry detergent cotton crisp bold clean but it’s too sharp for me gave me a headache . I enjoy the cloudberry body mist more from The collection it’s creamier softer

I wanted to love this, but it smells like my hand after holding a fistful of quarters.
