No Way To Say Goodbye

This has become an instant-classic in my rotation. I still can't decide if I like it more than Space Girl (therefore landing it in my top 5 fragrances of all time, of any brand) but it is HEAVENLY!!! No Way to Say Goodbye does indeed smell a little bit like the Comforter, a little bit like Amelia Mae, but also in the dry down reminds me of American Cream just a smidge. It starts off with a blast of mouth-watering (I mean this literally lol) jammy blackcurrant that lacks the acidity/sharpness it often has - which is present in the Comforter - and lifted slightly by the rose which is reminiscent of Amelia Mae (as the reviewer below says, just swap raspberry for blackcurrant). After a half hour or so the benzoin starts to creep in and mingle with that initial fruity blast, and to me the benzoin reads super buttery and savoury! Like slathering jam on a freshly baked croissant. And that leads me to my next point - I can't access Snif here in the UK but I'm eagerly awaiting this getting into Americans' hands because I am SOOOOOO curious to know if this is at all similar to Crumb Couture! Will my FOMO finally be laid to rest?!? But to get back on topic - about 5 hours in the fruitiness is completely gone and all that's left is a delicious vanilla-like scent, and it's here I'm somewhat reminded of the silky deliciousness of the vanilla found in American Cream (try to imagine it without the lavender and clary sage). As the cherry on top of this delicious baked delight, this is priced the same as Sun (£20/30ml, £40/100ml), AKA their cheapest offering!!! This is simply unbeatable in price ESPECIALLY for this level of quality - a very realistic fruity gourmand that you'd usually have to pay top dollar for. If you're within the UK (we don't have many options here for truly high quality 'fumes at an affordable price point) I think you would be hard pressed to find something of this calibre at this price elsewhere!

syrupy blackcurrant bares a resemblance to rose jam. it’s so sweet and refreshing i love it! update: i ended up ordering it a week later because i couldn’t stop thinking about it i now have it and the one i got is more lemony thanks to the litsea cubeba but it’s still jammy, sweet and floral. i have the rose jam solid perfume i think these would go great together because nwtsg has that extra hit of jammy sweetness whilst rose jam leads more marmalade. i love this perfume can’t wait to wear it all the time especially now spring is around the corner :) as it dries down it smells like that one sweet grandmas have where the wrapper is like a strawberry (red with white spots and green at the top) but the flavour is blackcurrant, it smells almost identical to that lol it’s still really nice

It starts out juicy blackcurrant, then turns fruity/floral. It very much smells like 'Junk' without the herbal, almost cough-sweet dry down at the end. Instead, it turns powdery. Pretty frustrating to see LUSH keep doing very similar fragrances (it's been a while since something has blown my socks off!), however, I love Junk and I was always wishing for a version like this. At £20 for a 30ml bottle I couldn't say no. It's a light perfume that I'd wear in the day - most likely Spring and Summer. Personally, this also smells like a modern LUSH shop to me (I know '29 High Street' is described as a LUSH shop but I think that's the old school version of LUSH). It's simple and not overpowering, it's just very pretty!

This is a very gothic smell to me. It smells like the tombs in a Minster. It's very sweet when you first spray it. As it settles, it dries down into a very sour, murky blackcurrent smell, which I personally love but can see others despising it. It's completely different to anything I've ever smelt at Lush as I feel like they focus on very sweet and overpowering scents a lot of the time, which makes sense as one of their most popular selling scents is snow fairy (which I hate tbh). As I smell it more, it smells exactly like when you'd rub your fingers on a blackcurrent bush leaf and there's that very earthy smell. It's a gorgeous perfume and I'm very happy it's in my collection.

I created an account on fragrantica because of this smell. It's like walking through a beautiful sunny garden in early summer when blaccurrant is ripe and wild roses bloom. On the dry-down you also get this beautiful buttery resinous smell that reminds me of a blackcurrant pie crust. This smelled fresh to me at first but now I get the gourmand notes too and it is even better! Tbh I think the people who smell this and think of cat pee just never smelled or tasted raw blackcurrant :D And I say this as someone who also has cats. If you know and love blackcurrant, you will love this I promise. An underrated gem from Lush indeed. I love it forever and always <3

An amazing price for the performance. No Way To Say Goodbye is a perfume with green color similar to scents like Junk or The Comforter. It stars with a bubblegum/vape accord that is not overwhelmingly sweet but rather unique. Really fruity, almost innocent. The drydown has a floral twist, think rose but subtle rose that is not powdery nor stealing the spotlight of the other notes. A classic oriental vibe in the background. I must say the staying power is excellent. It lasts for 10 hours on my skin and the sillage is great as well. All the new perfumes from 2024 perform really well. I‘m a guy and I definitely consider it to be unisex.

Really wanted to love this, but I am unsure. I purchased the solid perfume and I think that may be why I’m not as in love as I thought I would be. Sillage is pretty poor, and longevity is so short (did not survive the 2hr drive home.) However the scent is beautiful! It opens with the delicious fruity black current note on me and then settles into a really deep, sweet, soft and earthy rose with a hint of the litsea I believe. The benzoin really adds another level to this and gives it such beautiful depth. I hate rose scents on my skin (pulls very soapy.) but this I love!!! Hoping to try the spray to see if sillage changes!

One of the prettiest, brightest and photorealistic blackcurrants I have ever smelled. They are so tasty, yet it is not a gourmand. Out of others blackcurrants by Lush It is not as sweet as Comforter and not minty as Junk ( Junk is more plant itself, leaves, stems etc). I Am from those lucky ones who never gets any bodily fluids smells from blackcurrants, apart of this slightly tart, yet sweet, dark berry. It always gathers compliments and raises curiosity, people are positively loving it. I feel warmth of a stewed jam from this juice and it lasts forever. Total must have and mood lifter for me.

I like this one a lot! I had a different perfume in mind when visiting the lush store, but after sniffing all of them this was the only one I went "oh this is good!" on the first sniff. To be fair I love fruity and tart perfumes, and this one opens very bright and fruity. Its quite sweet and I do see some people disliking it because of its black currant note, but personally, I'm a big fan. It can feel a bit sharp and sour at first, but it dries down to a softer fruity floral scent. I also find the longevity to be great on me, I can still smell it after 6-7 hours.

I love Lush, but in a country where wearing strong scents in public is considered offensive, my bottles last forever. Not with this one, not because it's not strong, but because who doesn't like the smell of blackcurrant juice! This smells like caramel in my mouth. Hehe. I can't find that sharpness here what some blackcurrant scents have. So I don't understand the references to cat pee. I think the green elements here are very well balanced with the jammyness. This is definitely the easiest to wear from my Lush collection.💜

Reminds me of purple Starburst or Skittles. Very fruity with a vague, yet strong, sweetness to it. The sillage and longevity of the solid stick form aren't great, but the liquid is so much stronger— I tried it on last night and woke up this morning still smelling decently of it. I put more on this morning and my friend immediately commented on it the minute I walked into her room.

I 100% got the cat urine blast with the tester in store but bought the 30ml anyway. It’s clearly a batch issue because my purchase is perfectly clean and beautiful. My husband says it reminds him of some lolly (maybe blackcurrant pastilles?). I totally get the rose note on the dry-down. It’s gorgeous. For UK and Australian noses, prepare for blackcurrant nostalgia!

This is blackcurrant jam ! I have this parfum, I’m wearing it almost everyday and @fragrantica please delete the comments that refers to pee because it’s not true and clearly this are super hateful reviewers. Gosh! It smells so good and people around me likes it and some want to have a bottle too. It’s a strong blackcurrant jam , something rare this days

I didn't think I'd like this one because I find The Comforter a bit meh & I can be quite fussy with blackcurrant & fruity scents in general. I unexpectedly really like this & at £40 for 100ml, it's a great deal. This is a tart, rich & slightly medicinal blackcurrant & is less sweet than The Comforter. It smells like blackcurrant Lemsip - in a good way.

I smelled this at Lush and immediately loved it. Sprayed it on a tester, and kept whiffing it. I actually originally went to buy Rose Jam and I ended up leaving with both. This perfume is beautiful and very berry sweet. Just not for me personally, I will be returning. Great for winter and spring.

I absolutely love this scent! It reminds me a lot of these lemon toffees called 'FOX' that I used to eat when I was younger, they no longer sell them at my local supermarket so I haven't had any in years but this instantly transported me back to my childhood!

This is a blackcurrant bomb! On my skin, it’s getting more clear and natural blackcurrant. Now I have two hours of wearing it and it’s a clear natural blackcurrant. I bought 100ml and I’m going to wear it all this winter. It’s very rare and beautiful

Beautiful and jammy and slightly lactonic I love how you can smell how sticky and sweet the jam is but then you can smell the buttery milky pastry it’s like how I would envision a medieval blackberry pie would smell like instant love

This is a very lush type of fragrance which is very multilayered I’d say mix of junk and confetti? Really cannot stop smelling it. Kind of a pity that the longevity is on the low side. Amazing price. Definitely recommend.
