Sleepy

Lizzy&Jane's "realistic lavender in a bed of marshmallows" is an accurate summary of Sleepy's development from the first drydown (10 minutes in) untill ten hours or so into its wear for me (yes, it lasts for ages). There is some nuance to those marshmallows, fortunately for me, as I'm very particular about sweetness in my scents. I believe it's the benzoin enriching the tonka-ylang ylang creaminess with that balsamic, malty quality, and their contrast with the lavender's sharp, almost coniferous edge, making this creation so wonderfully spacious - and so addictive for me. It is exactly that bright, very nearly (pleasantly) screetchy very-near-conifer against the backdrop of interestingly malty, cloudy sweetness that keeps scratching my Mistpouffer (Stora Skuggan) itch here. (For a frantion of its price!) And have I mentioned that the lavender is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully photorealistic? Especially in the opening when it pleasantly overwhelms the other notes, but also as their well-balanced counterweight throughout the whole development. Sleepy is quickly becoming one of my favorites from Lush (there's quite a few of those these days), not to mention my favorite lavender-centric scent out there.

Im happy that this was finally added to the website! :D I have not smelled the original Twilight mist, so I can't compare it to the "original". However, I am a huge fan of Sleepy. Yes, it's a nice scent before going to bed, but it's also amazing for days when you don't feel like having strong perfume on. It's comforting; the lavender notes are not overwhelming - and they go perfectly with the tonka. Perhaps it can be too strong of an alcohol scent when you spray it at first, but it goes away after a few minutes once it dries, just like any other body mist. It dries down into a subtle scent, and I can't get enough of it. It's amazing if you layer it with the sleepy body wash and the body lotion. I wish they made a longer lasting version though.

I feel like the odd one out, because I got this as a day spray. I find it scratched the itch I have to smell like a hippie spa with aromatherapy and stone massages. If that's your vibe, you're gonna love this, but keep in mind it smells really... well, aromatherapeutic. The bottle smells screechy, like a cheap toilet spray (and like they forgot to add some extra drops of the fragance oil), so I felt heartbroken once it arrived, but when I sprayed it on I guess the more alcoholic molecules evaporated, leaving behind only the fragance. I was a bit wary of the tonka notes, since I didn't want an overly sweet perfume, but it's not overwhelming or trying to be a gourmand that it isn't. It's going straight to the daily perfume rotation.

oh wow this is truly phenomenal. i think this is now my favorite lush line. i would describe it as a brown-sugared lavender teetering on the edge of a flourmand, with the tonka. coming from someone who kind of hates lavender. i think this can truly be worn year round. there is something so plush and cozy in this (yet still fresh and bright) that i don’t expect from a lavender scent. it’s so effortless and doesn’t go sour like super milk kind of does. i need to take a bath in sleepy bath bomb, wash with sleepy body wash, moisturize with sleepy body lotion, and douse myself in sleepy body spray. if only there was a perfume!

I’m a lavender vanilla gal, and I love this. Performance isn’t all that I hoped given the hype, but that’s okay. I can’t smell it on my wrist after an hour. In the spring I had an 8am class, and I’d usually wear Burberry Goddess or MM Coffee Break, perfectly fitting for those crisp and dewy, slightly chilly mornings. I know this is a bed time scent for a lot of people, but this reminds me of an early morning. It’s still chilly outside but you’re cozy in your favorite sweater.

My aunt got me a little tub of lotion in a similar scent for Christmas years ago, and I fell in love so fast. I was really nervous to try the spray because I was scared it wouldn’t be as good as the lotion, but it’s great! It’s so cozy and fluffy...Also, the lavender hits hard. if you’re someone who likes sweet, cloudy lavender, this is for you! I don’t like wearing it to bed (too strong...) but I do feel dreamy and mysterious wearing it out!

I can't smell it at all after 5 minutes, as if I hadn't put anything on, but people around me tell me I smell nice, so the olfactory adaptation to this perfume starts absolutely immediately. Sad. The drydown is unreal but I just do not feel, do not smell it at all.

This is the creamiest sweet lavender scent! It's absolutely gorgeous! Longevity and sillage are great even though it's a body mist. Gentle and comforting. Perfect for whole year around when you need calming and soft bubble scent.

The only thing that has cured my insomnia, and now I’m obsessed with lavender. Although someone has asked me if I was wearing bug spray, but I don’t get that at all. All I smell is lovely lavender with some cozy vanillary tonka.

Extremely strong lavender. Like you’re being punched in the face by lavender and tonka. I love it personally. Definitely a bed time, after bath scent. Also works wonders sprayed on pillowcases and sheets!

More tonka than lavender, and I really love it but the benzoin note. This is like Dirty's youngest sister that loves to eat cupcakes. I like to wear both when I sleep as both are just relaxing.

Twilight was my signature. Sleepy is very similar but still not the same as Twilight. I missing the full bodied Twilight but love Sleepy as well. Pure Lavender hugged by warm tonka.

just got this, sooooo so good. creamy lavender bomb i love it so much. now unfortunately i’m going to have to buy the whole line🙄fml

Sampled this on my skin and man, that opening hit me: It smelled just like this mesh cushion full of lavender flowers that my mom had once, bought on a holiday when I was much younger. It settles, softens, and melds into a something like a watery, lavender steeped/infused chai (I think it’s the benzoin and tonka that’s doing that for me). Anyhow, real nice.

I got this on my hunt for a beautiful lavender fragrance. It is very sweet due to the vanilla but it’s probably the best I’ve found. Realistic lavender in a bed of marshmallows. I spray it before bed and on rainy days when I want to feel relaxed and dreamy.

i kinda like it but I'm not a lavender person so i wouldn't wear it. its a pretty realistic smell. i also get a teeny tiny bit of yuzu-type citrus. i would defo recommend if you're into this type of scent.🪻

I own both, and this is the biggest bs, they are both warm and sweet but they are not similar at all. It’s probably bots or something is very wrong with people’s noses... No one should think they are dupes

fuck yes, I love lavender more than anything and this is exactly what I needed in my life. finally a realistic lavender that doesn't hurt my nose or smell like a bubble bath. doesn't make me sleepy, in fact it energizes me with how much I love it. sweet dreams everyone
