Time of the Season

I actually own this one, so I've taken the time to really get to know it. In the best way possible, it's got an almost basement-like musty quality. Unfortunately, I've not gotten to smell Tank Battle yet, but according to the 'moldy' descriptions of that one I can imagine Time of the Season has a patchouli of similar quality. This patchouli is not camphorous, medicinal, powdery, or chocolaty. It really is just strait dirty. When I bought this in store, I had to laugh at the Lush Employee who told me she thought it smelled like rotting vegetables. I was not scared off by this, as I came in already knowing I wanted Time of the Season after having tested it multiple times before. The mustiness is most apparent right in the beginning, but after this more challenging phase, it settles into a more 'normal' scent with some more prominent citrus/neroli. Sometimes I think the opening is a bit vegetal and redolent of dry grass, other times I don't. I sense similarities in Karma in the dry down, but don't assume you'll like this one if you like Karma. That being said, I don't think it's redundant to own both. It really does feel 'hedonistic' as the bottle describes it. There's nothing animalic in it, yet it feels very musky and human which I love. I also feel like it works for all seasons. It's whatever you want it to be and more. I absolutely adore this scent. I probably will never get through the bottle (curse you Lush for not offering smaller sizes) but at least I know I'll never run out. ..

I really do love this perfume but I still haven‘t bought it because a) I feel like the price could be a bit lower and b) It is not that different than Karma or Tank Battle. It is on my wishlist and I‘m planning to buy this soon but I just decided to get the other new Lush perfume over this. It is a spin on Karma for sure. A classic Lush patchouli and citrus cross that is to die for. I haven‘t used up my Karma and Tank Battle perfumes from years ago but it‘s still different enough for me to wanna buy it. If you‘re not a perfume freak like me it wouldn‘t make sense to get all three because the drydowns are REALLY REALLY SIMILAR. I must say tho that this performs way better than Karma. I would definitely get Time Of The Season over Karma if I was deciding between these two. The top notes are kinda different tho.

This is a really gorgeous earthy, dry, dusty & dark patchouli. It's like Karma's older witchy vibe sister. Probably a safe blind buy if you're a patch lover. Enjoying this one a lot. Good job Lush.

beautiful, earthy, spooky. opens and dries down spicy patchouli. if this perfume was an album it'd be music from patch cord productions by mort garson.

Very nice, reminds me of a combination of Lush 1000 kisses deep and Tabu by Dana, citrus and patchouli, with a mossy like quality.

Literally love at first sniff for me. Immediately transports me to a grassy field I’m sprawled out on. Cannot wait to buy this!!!!

Summer version of Karma! Love it!

Time of The Season Perfume is perfect for Autumn & Winter. I will see how it does in Spring/Summer, when they are up on us once more, & update. I got a bargain bottle on eBay. Upon first spray, I think you'd be forgiven for thinking it's Karma. As it settles, you can tell it's Neroli coming through though, rather than orange. This is beautiful! I absolutely love it! It's probably my favourite Lush perfume now! This is for your inner witch/vampire/pensive author or poet/lover of the outdoors. I also love Karma, Lust, Tank Battle, Alina. Time of The Season Perfume, on me, is like a much more wearable version of Devil's Nightcap (dries down too masculine on me 😞) x Karma, so I'm very happy! 🥰 It's almost like Icon, Devil's Nightcap, Karma & Tank Battle had a test tube baby! Definitely worth a try if you like those fragrances, but I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy. ** One interesting & possibly important note: whenever I spray/wear this, my son asks me if I'm "wearing that mould perfume?". He always said he could smell mould when I sprayed or wore Tank Battle as well, until he got used to it! **

There's a carefree, "Whatever the day may bring" vibe to this. It's bright, but also Earthy. Patchouli lovers will be delighted.

If you’re looking for something similar to Karma, this really isn’t it - for me, anyway! It smelt like straight up wet earth/dirt and I scrubbed off immediately BUT if that’s the vibe you’re going for, then it’ll be perfect for you

A new love for me, which could possibly become my signature.... Blind bought this at a bargain price on Ebay, after reading comments that it's similar to Karma. Personally I think it has more in common with Tank Battle, and possibly The Dew on Their Hems (two Lush favourites). It has the same earthy, outdoorsy vibe. The opening is slightly challenging, as Lush perfumes can be. A massive patchouli hit with a blast of sappy bitterness. The dry down is absolutely heavenly, a bittersweet earthy fougere, herby, spicy and aromatic. I'm getting neroli but the grapefruit doesn't stand out to me, although maybe it's there in that opening bitterness? I detect a slightly animalic, sweaty note in the background later on, which makes me think cumin? This is one of those fragrances that make my eyes roll back in bliss when I sniff myself. I'm thinking shady forest, damp earth, crushed leaves. It has a witchy vibe which I'm very fond of in common with other Lush perfumes. It reminds me very much of Gothic Woods by Juliet Rose. Longevity is amazing. I like to spray perfumes like this on my inner elbow, and it's still going strong there the next day. I wouldn't say this is a safe blind buy, especially if you're after a Karma vibe. This is way darker and dirtier. I think it's very reasonably priced for the quality. Well done Lush on another beautiful creation!

I'm a big patchouli lover and this is a straightforward patchouli scent. The opening is pretty musty but that settles quickly. The grapefruit note made me expect something more similar to Karma, but it's not so bright and loud, nor very citrusy. In fact, I'm disappointed in the sillage and strength of this one. I used like 10 sprays and yet on my skin it's pretty much an intimate skin scent, and after a couple hours it's nearly gone. For the price point that's disappointing. However, if you're scared to wear patchouli because lots of people hate it, this may be your fragrance. No one will be able to smell it but you, and if you don't like it no worries it'll be gone soon.

Oh god this is heavenly. Retro, like stepping back in time. Best release from Lush in a while. The new range is very good, but this one stood out to me the most. Plan to soon purchase. Like a smoother Karma. Lovely.
