Fresh, Watery, Fruity, Slightly Sweet Musk Smells like sipping fresh squeezed fruit juice by the water. It is summer vacation in a bottle. Sunny, fresh, airy, watery, and delicious. I love the subtle mango and guava notes mixed with the predominate grapefruit note as it sweetens the grapefruit slightly without crossing over into a fruity gourmand. I also love the creative stories and worlds Sam creates for his fragrances. This fragrance does reflect the story and setting well and when smelling it you are transported to the world of By Virtue of Sunbeams. In the opening a get a burst of grapefruit followed by a bit of mango and in the heart I get fresh warm fruity water, followed by a slightly sweet fruity musk in the dry down. It is a great daily citrus freshie and for an EDT concentration it perform surprisingly well. I was testing this against Sunflower Pop by Floral street as they have a similar essence to me and the performance is right on par to the EDP concentration of Sunflower Pop, but for a much more affordable price. That being said, it is a citrus EDT so it only lasts about 2 hours on my skin before becoming a very intimate skin scent, but it is also very affordable and my pocketbook will be more comfortable over-spraying or reapplying to compensate for the weakness of the fragrance. I see the majority of people voted that this fragrance is eternal staying power. I truly do not understand this rating and wonder if there is a bias in that rating. Typically I agree with the fragrantica performance rating ranges for perfumes but this one has me skeptical on its accuracy.

Fragrantica rating system, encourages Sillage and Longevity, so edgy Dark Triad kids exploited this flaw by making their perfumes Loud and Crowd pleasing and just like that knuckleheads compare to the Roja Masterpiece 1819. The same applies to Designer brands, but it's easier to pick on Sam Macer because he still doesn't have Blackrock henchmen protecting his Brand. At least you get it for cheap, 10/10 if you are a Coupon shopper, the bottle is really ugly. I already mentioned that

By Virtue of Sunbeams Zurai is basically a clone of Ultra Luxury Clone Roja Dove House Burlington 1819

I took the opportunity to order 2 bottles when a limited number were shipped to the US. It opens with a touch of green and quickly transitions into a guava forward tropical fruit blend, as it starts to settle I get marine notes, mango and hyper realistic graprefruit. The dry down leaves me feeling like I peeled a grapefruit but also reminds me of hi-chew candy. Overall I find it uplifting, very sweet and fruity but not at all overwhelming.

Mostly getting citrus out of it but there is a bit of interest which makes it above average to my nose. I was hoping for something more musky though rather than candy sweet so not entirely sure about it yet.
