Les Lunatiques

This is a stunning, very natural smelling witchy potion that has me convinced I could probably blind buy anything from LVNEA and be happy. Les Lunqtiques particularly won me over due to the heavy jasmine. I love that she’s combined it with such earthy, woodsy notes — the camphor gives it a slightly medicinal quality but that makes me love it all the more, because it’s makes this lean a bit eccentric, which is exactly how I like my florals!! If you had a quirky aunt who taught art and wore lots of flowy clothes, crystals and headpieces that somehow only she could pull off - this would be her fragrance :-)

This is a special scent- very unlike anything I've smelled before. When I first sampled this I was put off by it, but quickly it grew on me. It's creamy, soft, opalescent, it does smell lunar and glowing. I started wearing my sample as a bedtime scent; comforting and soft, perfect to lull you to sleep. Recently I bought a full bottle and have been wearing it constantly... it hovers between smelling like the inside of a tree, milky jasmine tea, fresh butter, and humid night air. So in love with this!

Leaving another review for this because I can't believe how beautiful it is. It's winter, I sprayed this on after coming out of the bath, and was enveloped in coziness. It's like entering a musky, creamy, damp cloud; it feels cooling, gauzy and safe. Such a good nighttime scent for drifting into potent dreams.

Opens cool, medicinal, slightly spicy, green—camphor, myrrh and jasmine beginning to work their magic immediately... The slight spice of the black pepper soon fades as the vermouth leads into a smooth, herbal and creamy heart. There’s an opaque, opalescent and downright lunar quality given to the jasmine here, which is already naturally evocative of the sultry night air, but in combination with the mentholated aspects of the camphor, the smoky, resinous copal and the pale, phantom-like earthy-powdery orris this blend captures the night in an otherworldly sense—reminiscent of those moments in the depths of twilight, on the brink of deep slumber where you can’t help but lose track of what reality you’re in... Silky sandalwood and warming ambrette complement the base wonderfully, providing a comforting wooden butteriness. I also find there to be some slight vanillic and chocolate nuances present. Altogether I find this a naturally bewitching nocturnal blend, reminiscent of both the innate innocence and lunacy that the nighttime brings... Sillage moderate to strong, longevity superb. Priced competitively among niche. Bravo, madames!!!

At first I was surprised at all the reviews commenting on the creaminess of this perfume, but in the end I’ve been really captivated by this scent. It’s rich and yet also has a super soft feeling, definitely akin to moonlight, and almost like getting lost in a delicate mist. This scent, to me, screams autumn, though I could see it also working in spring or summer. I generally prefer deeper more gourmand scents in the winter, so I don’t think I would gravitate towards this during that time. Wearing this feels like wandering a moonlit woods in the autumn to me, wonderfully mysterious and soft.

Les Lunatiques is psychic bubblegum; pink velvet tarot card pouches and lunar rituals. You’re pulling The Tower on your friend’s situation-ship as a bolt of lightning reminds him of your innate gravity and tendency towards “lunacy.” It’s reminiscent of the three haunted chairs in my great aunt’s basement. My cloak is not crimson, it’s amaranth. Sugar coated (and fuzzy!) incense, it dances close to the skin but somehow lingers in a plume behind you. Not an everyday scent for me, but it brings out a mischievous essence I’d like more of in my life.

Goth sandalwood :D One of the very few LVNEA scent I don't particularly vibe with. Possibly because I am so done with sandalwood as a note, it is ubiquitous and plentiful, and I am on a different perfume journey away from sandalwood at the moment. I also struggle with camphor note on my skin, it smells like a medicinal pickle (?) for the lack of a better description. I think this scent is good, it just doesn't work on my skin and doesn't fit my personality.

Wanted to love this but it's missing a warmth, sexiness, human-ness for me. It's very cool and detached and ethereal, and the jasmine is lovely, but I want a more robust base - not really getting copal, which is what drew me to buy a sample. There's a very high-pitched peppermint-y note that doesn't work for me. Kind of impressive that a jasmine-forward scent could smell so ice cold.

I love lvnea's perfumes so so much, but this one just stresses me out so much, I can't wear it. It smells confusing and gives me a headache.

Update: I tried the perfume again and it smelled like a completely different perfume. Then I realized that it was because the last time I tried it I didn't smell right away (ADHD moment) and I had missed the openings notes . Unfortunately, I'm not too crazy about the opening. You really get the camphor and the pepper. Maybe something a little green too. The camphor almost gives it an astringent fruity smell. Normally I like camphor and pepper but in this perfume it's very sharp and stinging. Camphor is an easy scent to become overwhelming. I also don't think it goes with the other ingredients or vibe. Luckily the opening disappears quickly and the notes I love begin to come through. Read below for the description of the other notes. Description: Their website does a great job at describing this scent. It is dark, deep, incensey, floral, creamy, woodsy and metallic all at the same time. Notes: I’m still learning my notes but the jasmine and sandalwood stood out to me. These two notes give it that ˋcreaminessˋ and a hint of sweetness which is balanced out by the woody/metallic notes to give an interesting blend. I assume is the wormwood is what gives it the woody scent. I have no idea where the metallic note is from but I really enjoy it as it reminds me on the moon. Who’s it for? Not a safe buy. I don’t think this scent will be universally appealing however it was less challenging scent compared to the two others I tried one of which being fue Follet (I personally love fue Follet but it is an intense Smokey smell that I could see some hating). I agree with one of the reviewers that this scent is ‘Heady’ as all their scents are, however again it is less heady than what else I tried from them. maybe due to the natural ingredients I did not get sick like I do from other brands. I think this is a great scent for someone that wants something soft, enchanting, witchy, and a bit sexy. Vibe: so I think all their scents feel mystical and dark. They will appeal to mysterious, gothic, unique people. This scent truly does remind me of the moon. It smells like doing spells and still nights. This scent will do best for fall, winter and evenings. If you are looking for fresh clean scents this house in general is not for you.

Les Lunatiques is a sweet, etherial, & soft! It certainly has moonlight vibes. It is also reminiscent of that '1980s' first generation 'My Little Pony' Scent: A special fragrance was developed for these toys 'to imbue them with a nostalgic quality and bond a scent memory with their product'. Damn successful marketing! I loved that smell and find this sweetheart of a perfume to share some qualities.

Les Lunatiques is a cupped palm of night air: softly flickering mothwings at midnight, a dewy mist of cloud floating across the moon, shadow-draped blooms furled in upon themselves and dreaming, the holy gleaming poetry of cosmic light reaching us from stars long dead, and the sweet murmuring exhalations of a slumbering grove of saplings.
