Spirituum

This is a gorgeous green incense scent. It's very unique. For me it’s all about galbanum and incense. Such a fun combination and a welcome departure from a lot of heavy, sweet incense frags out there. It feels outdoorsy in a way that is both cold and sunny; it's brisk and refreshing without really having your typical “fresh” note. As it develops it becomes slightly less green and more earthy and churchy, with an occasional coniferous note. The incense note is really beautiful and pure and takes center stage. It's accented by a smooth mossy base. I love that the whole composition is dry, but not bone dry. It lasted a full 8 hours on my skin, but projection was minimal.

A very herbaceous patchouli scent. Softed than some other LVNEA scents. I am still forming my opinion about it but I think I like it. Update: the more I smell it, the more I like it. This is becoming one of my absolute favorite LVNEA scents <3 changed my rating to "love".

Just gorgeous. Chypre, but smelling so natural, warm (oakmoss!), green, refreshing, and incense! This is my third sampling from LVNEA, and the first one I’m definitely going to buy in a full size. This is what I was hoping Ghost Pine would be. A big LOVE.

I wear this whenever I feel uncomfortable/insecure in my own skin or I somehow want to feel at home without being home, bizarrely, this is not at all what my physical home smells like, yet, thats the feeling I associate it with. The only scent "memories" that this fragrance reminds me of are oddly specific. The first is from when I was small, my dad used to work at a renaissance faire during the spring, and often take me with him. Whenever I passed the insence/fragrance stall, it emitted a very rich, warm, almost honey-like scent and it always seemed to draw people in even if they weren't initially interested. As a child I could never place it exactly, I wanted to say it was wood but it felt far too cloying/'syrupy' for such a descriptor. Now, I suppose I would identify it as resinous, the stall smelled almost exactly like this. The second is The Black, which is an eclectic smoke shop that also sells metaphysical wares and insence in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego.

I am relatively new to fragrances, and I have spent the last few months just trying narrow down the general notes I like and collecting a list of recommendations and perfumeries that seemed to fit the bill. I’m looking for an earthy fragrance, the smell of getting lost in the woods after an early spring thunderstorm. I can see why this one was recommended to me, but honestly I can’t stand it. It’s the middle of the day and I’m trying to wash it off. It isn’t a bad scent, but it’s too bright and spicy, and wearing it on my own skin is making me nauseous. It’s woody more in the way unburned incense is woody, not the way tree bark is woody. Over a few hours, it’s dried down to a powdery scent that’s almost like baby powder and patchouli, but very strong. I’m not sure if it just doesn’t agree with my skin, but this one is definitely not for me.
