Violet Woods

I absolutely love layering this fragrance. I feel like it enhances any perfume I pair it with, adding more depth and complexity. When I wear it, I feel mysterious and wichty. I especially love combining it with Le Labo Another 13 body lotion. Together, it feels like I’m casting a spell, boosting my confidence. I started with a sample, then ended up buying the full bottle, which is rare for me. It’s definitely one of my all time favorite fragrances.

This is such a lovely scent, one of my favourites from LVNEA. Realistic violet, green and fresh, slightly sweet. Not as powdery as I expected but it's very smooth and delicate. The orris is not overpowering. I get something almost juicy as well, like blackberries. I absolutely love it. The perfect scent for Spring and early summer!

pleasantly surprised. i find a lot of lvneas perfumes i tried to be one note & very much in the same 2010s west coast witchy goth neo trad tattoo sleeve family. this one is actually captivating, although simple. i can smell the violet but definitely the violet leaf too, it’s green slightly powdery and the orris root leans into a peppery nose feeling. dries down a with a hint of sweetness (the tonka beans, not listed on fragrantica), the wood accords in here feel very subtle & light and not ceremonial. this is an oil, so intimate projection. combined with the motion of applying with a roll on it makes for a comforting scent ritual you can partake in through the day. now my biggest issue with lvnea perfumes is longevity + equilibrium. if i understand correctly perfumes that are resin/ wood based —which april uses a lot— are supposed to outlast floral notes like this one but because hers are so unbalanced with very strong openings and timid dry downs, my ability to perceive them over longer time is null. in violet woods the intensity of the top notes is on par with middle & base notes so although it is very discreet, i am actually present for the whole ride. that being said, i am afraid this still vanishes much too quick for me (under an hour) & given the price point. maybe botanical/ no additive perfume isn’t for me. won’t be getting a full size but if i had to pick one from this house, it probably would be this one. it is really pretty, even if doesn’t make any strong argument of any sort. i only wish that like a violet, its scent would keep reappearing after disappearing.

A rare LVNEA scent that does not work for me... Smells like a spicy pickle on my skin :D No thanks

Lvnea is my favorite natural perfume brand. April Lea, the nose behing the brand has definitely a signature. She open last june a very unique boutique/apothecary/atelier where I would like to go everyday...a heaven for ''sniffers''. You can smell there essential oil,herbs and of ourse all her perfumes. Violet Woods is a dark violet,woody and dry.
