Pomelos

This weirdly reminds me of Coco Noir, although they barely have any notes in common other than grapefruit and jasmine. It’s not as bright and uplifting as I thought it would be. It has the citrusy punch, but it’s subdued, and there’s something about it that reminds me of leather seats or the scent of a new car. I actually am loving it so far. No headaches yet. It’s citrusy, leathery (although no leather in the notes), slightly powdery and soapy, overall.

Fresh floral green with hints of fruits. I have the 75ml version, like the ones in Note >...> collection, which is indeed very pretty to look at... the green rinestones evoke a feeling of spring. Pomelos is a kind of sweet grapefruit but I honestly smell very little citrus here... it's mostly delicate and young flowers, with buds and greenery, wet young wood full of sap. I could say this smells like the baby from a marriage between Kenzo Le Monde Est Beau and Chanel Cristalle edp. Elegant, delicate and serene, it could be unisex too. Silage is rather soft and lasting power average. Pleasant and innofensive, probably appropriate for mornings and days more than evening. Lovely and recommended to those that like fresh perfumes, smooth, no screeching notes, no sharp angles.

Very soft and lovely.. Nothing near sharp and stingy as grapefruit sometimes can be. Yes it is fresh and clean, but as I said, soft as well. Stays rather close to the skin, and though it's a lovely scent, I don't know if it would be worth it to have such a fragrance for it's original pricetag... But that's up to the buyer of course.

The best Peach Blossom and Rhubarb blend. Very good perfume, elegant smell, not sweet but floral, excellent for summer days and weddings. It makes me think of a wedding when I wear it. Stays close to the body, but doesnt last more than 2-3 hours. So its a poor projection for such an expensive perfume.

Powdery grapefruit and floral scent. I have smelled a much better and more natural rhubarb note in perfume, this one is just okay. And to me overall Pomelos comes across as a “perfume” smell, meaning it’s a little generic. Not bad, but not a great scent. I personally can’t imagine ever reaching for it. Pomelos is currently on sale on the Micallef website if this is something that works for you.

Testing this again today and it gets a thumbs down. It is too green and a bit waxy. The grapefruit is not juicy or sweet. It's more like the essence from the peelings and crushed leaves. I prefer a more edible smelling citrus. I love this house and I love grapefruit but this recipe is not working for me

You can pick up a bottle of this for less than $15 on ebay. It was known as Le Parfum 21 but was repackaged and relaunched as Pomelos with a tenfold price increase. Ridiculous! Same exact scent. Absolutely no changes at all. Apparently there is a scam going on with this perfumer because the majority of scents are just relaunches of the same fragrance that were much cheaper before in a simple bottle. Apparently this brand thinks if you change up the bottle but not the juice inside people will buy it and pay more too. Clearly their marketing strategy worked. If you want any of this brands scents, google the name of the perfume, and you should find out what was the original name of the same fragrance, with a much cheaper price tag. It's selling for $13.00 right now with free shipping on ebay. Same exact fragrance. Massive price difference. Here's what I found on the internet about this fragrance - Micallef Le Parfum 21 by M. Micallef Perfume. Le Parfum 21, relaunched as Pomelos No. 21, is a citrus floral fragrance that came out in 2002. To start it off are energetic fruity notes of mandarin orange, tart rhubarb, peach, and the mild grapefruit smell of juicy pomelo. The fruits are accented by flowery tinges of ultra-sweet jasmine and exotic lily-of-the-valley.

This is an unexpected perfume - it is heavier than I thought it would be. I had to work to pick out the notes - there is a tart tangerine (not in the notes but might be the mix of rhubarb and mandarin orange) - more like the crushed leaves than the fruit. Jasmine anchors the perfume, but the crushed citrus leaves and peach blossom defintely find their way to the top. Beautiful, and for me a fall / winter scent so it is perfect for this time of year. The dry down is really gorgeous, it smells complex and expensive.

Mmmmm what a pretty and fresh, but powdery scent. I blind bough it, and absolutely love it. Perfect for spring/summer.

To me, this is reminiscent of L'instant de Guerlain but with fresh, slightly tart citrus rhubarb element. Very nice.
