Un Moka

I have tried over time to wary away from Maison Micallef, and that's because although founded by a woman, somehow an obscure one from what I've heard and seen in the few random encounters in various places, the stories surrounding this company are funny and outrageous in the same time, but we can blame them for anything but not for no having a nose for perfumery, because sincerely Madame Martine certainly had it. I could never say that they had a clear line, they created in the same time for devilish women and bimbo undercover, but when they wanted to break the "grande" women's soul they certainly knew how to, no 11 was and will be a standard of strong French women perfume, a wonderful combination of hard power and typical French delicate charm, a metamorphosis of a woman warrior but who fall in love. Well this one it's a continuation of that story somehow, no, it's not a costume perfume, it is not the office perfume for strong women, is not even the scent of undercover mimosas, it is the perfume that accompanies you in the arms of your loved one. It is the perfume that say now I want just to be cuddle. It smells exactly as it is called, it smells like a Viennese cappuccino more than an Italian one to which you add liqueur, it has a special charm and I admit that it is one of my guilty pleasures. It's the kind of perfume that anyone can wear without saying anything about anyone, it's a guilty naïveté that makes you feel comfortable. For me it is the feeling of a romantic hug on a winter or late autumn evening, it's the perfume you wear melancholic while you look on the window at how it's snowing or raining heavily. I can't even talk about duration or projection, because I don't care, I give myself as many puffs as I feel the need , I take my hot chocolate cup and I position myself in front of the window in the arms of the love of my life, this is Moka for me, and that why I still buy it even if today you need to make special order for it.

This perfume is a mystery and I have tried to collect some information on it. It did indeed exist. I have been in contact with the brand. I asked about Un Moka, and got the reply: "We did not this perfume? Can you explain more about it?" I then elaborated and linked to this page. The reply was: "This product is discontinued indeed, but on the webshop you can order a crystal." They are referring to the handmade crystal bottles that are then filled with a perfume of your choice. In other words, the pictured bottle doesn't seem to be representative of this particular perfume. I found someone splitting the perfume on an Ukrainian forum in 2014. Here is the link to the original post: parfeya.com.ua/forum/53-14943-1 Notes according to the forum post: cocoa, whipped cream, spices, hazelnut, caramel, several varieties of coffee beans from the city of Mocha (Mocha’s birthplace), tonka beans, absolut vanilla from the island of Madagascar, Mexican coffee liqueur, coffee tree, white musk. The price was 25 rubles per ml and the bottle was 300 ml. The person posted her own pictures of the bottle, confirming this mystery scent indeed existed and belonged to some lucky person. I contacted the poster who replied roughly like this (translated from Russian): "Good evening! It was a fragrance from the bar collection in the only copy. One scent, one bottle." I imagine what she meant by "bar collection" was that she bought it at a M. Micallef Bar, which you can see here, title "Film bar a parfums M Micallef": youtube.com/watch?v=H7FBKyXFafk It's very possible this perfume was created exclusively for the Russian market, or exclusive for a specific store, and I'm guessing in a very limited quantity. This is all the information I know. It is possible some information got lost in translation, while using rusty Russian to communicate with the host of the split, and also the brand which was not fluent in English entirely.
