Air of Style

I think I have found a great Tuberose+Jasmine frag!! After owning Gucci Bloom (which I love) for a while, it was only natural to go on a hunt for something similar (even in a better price range) and hopefully longer lasting. I generally love jasmine+tuberose and when combined I always happen to perceive the two as possessing lightly creamy and sweetened jasmine-tea-like nuances which I simply aaaadore. (Also, Estee Lauder's Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is beautiful). Using GB as a comparison, Mac cosmetics' Air of Style is less flower garden (due to the lack of "green notes") and more simply sweet florals (from the date?). It is also more tuberose-leaning where GB highlights jasmine. Additionally, this frag has more woodsy background notes Tigerlillian's review below captures this fragrance perfectly but I'd just like to comment how I love the floral sweetness from the creamy tuberose supported by the ylang ylang and jasmine. Unfortunately, Air of Style's longevity is just as weak as GB on me but at least it's much more affordable! I would make the judgement that AoS is a tad more mass appealing due to its inherent sweetness as opposed to GB's photorealistic walk-in-the-garden-of-white-florals. I love them equally but I'm going to be reaching for AoS more due to it being more economic and its safer olfactory experience. I am now looking to try Michael Kors Michael and celebrity frag Truth or Dare by Madonna for another tuberose perfume!

This tuberose is simply beautiful. Coincidentally, it is signed by one of the collaborators of Michael Kors, Laurent Le Guernec. I do love this composition more than the MK as Air of Style feels fuller, richer and smoother. The prominent ylang ylang, orris and orange blossom offer a satin-like base of luxurious rapture on which tuberose is well featured. Jasmine provides an accent of further sophistication and never upstages the main floral note. Dates are not prominent and provide a warm ambery fruit nuance. Peony appears only for a moment in the opening and quietly leaves before the other floral dames arrive. Occasionally I get a whiff of leather, just a subtle raw edge complimented with pepper and wood. This accord weaves in and out and is more active in cooler weather and way into the dry down. Air of Style is a great workhorse tuberose, polished without being heavy or pretentious, full featured enough without being obnoxiously loud, versatile enough to be dressed up or down. Bright enough to make you smile and sensual enough to make you purr. I'm impressed with the quality at this price point.

Saw this while I was at MAC and I took one look at the bottle and knew it needed to be mine! And the bonus is that I actually love the scent. Definitely white floral - only one spray will do, anymore would cause a headache, it's that strong. It's perfect for under 70-75 degrees, anything more I think it'd be cloying for the warmer temps. It'd be great for Fall too :)

sweet tuberose, ylang and neroli with a hit of white pepper, vetiver and a little woodiness, but it's mostly about those three flowers in that order, very heady and strong for winter wear; they drydown to my nose is very aquatic

Spicy/woody tuberose? Yes please! Gorgeous opening with pepper and dates. Ylang-ylang is so beautifully mixed with tuberose. Leather and vetiver gives it a nice "classic" vibe. Unique,sexy and perfect!

I CAN'T STAND Michael Kors, but I LOVE this. Definitely test it before you form an opinion!!! I gotta go. I'm headed out to buy a backup bottle. :)

Tuberose, straight to pepper on me and so reminds me of original Magie Noire Lancome. I don't think it smells like anything in the current marketplace. A scent people like not offensive but I would actually prefer original Michael Kors because it is truly floral and stays light on my skin, where this has a dark heavy pepper notes on myself which seems more masculine on my skin. It is more of femme fatale scent to me where Kors is more romantic

A very clean pretty white floral in the vein of the original Kors. I think I slightly prefer this one. I haven't met a white floral I don't like and have many in my collection so I don't think I'll be adding this. I prefer a little more funk in my white florals as well.

So I've had the misfortune of testing MAC Air of Style ... from a client's bottle. First of all, I railed into her about wasting good money on this crap and told her if she wanted perfume in the future just to let me buy it. Secondly, she layers it with Zadig and Voltaire, which makes it smell a whole bunch better ... at least on her skin. I'm SOOO over the Lauder companies bottling bilge and calling it perfume. I just had a good giggle about the glowing reviews this has received on this site ... but if there is any authentic tuberose in here then I'm actually a real woman and not a guy that sometimes pretends to be one on stage. I don't know why I bother getting in a twist about it :) ... I just detest the thought that the company responsible for my interest in Fragrances now bottles this rubbish legitimately and has the nerve to call it perfume. Mrs. Lauder must be spinning in her grave!!

This perfume threw me for a loop. I don't typically go for tuberose or gourmand scents, but they're so well done here that I bought the small bottle after testing it for only 20 minutes. The longevity leaves much to be desired, but I figured as much from a makeup store. It honestly smells like a mixture of Bath and Body Works scents, but every now and then a girl just likes to smell like a candied tuberose, and there's nothing wrong with that. The bottle is lovely as well, as expected from MAC.

Very unusual. Sweet floral softened with a dash of white pepper. The dates note is interwoven softly into the mix. One of a kind-- it could not be mistaken for anything else. To me this is the perfect scent for summer fading into autumn.

Yep, this smells very similar to Michael Kors and to the original Kim Kardashian scent (how come no one mentions this?). All three are very pretty!

almost identical to amarige...just a touch juicier i'd say! very nice...and long lasting

A bit turned down Michael Kors. Less tuberose.
