Baroque Satin Oud

Baroque Satin Oud presents a heavily powdery and a bit chaotic, funky scent that may feel overwhelming at first, but quickly transforms into something entirely different — a smooth, dense blend of sweet rose, smoky incense, and vanilla. The transition is seamless yet surprising, with the initial cheap burst giving way to a premium scent experience. Right from the start, it exudes the style of vintage feminine perfumes. Once fully dry, there's a trace of dark fruits, possibly blackcurrant, adding a subtle fruity dimension. One of the most striking aspects of Baroque is how it defies expectations for a Middle Eastern rose-oud scent. It's unlike any other such combo; in fact, there's no oud detectable to me at all, which might surprise those expecting that classic rose-oud interplay. Instead, there's a hint of baby wipes and powder, but also a resemblance to an Arabian dessert with saffron and cinnamon. The projection and longevity are insane, making it too overwhelming for enclosed spaces. A few sprays, and you're committed for the day (and likely into the next). It leans quite feminine, but as a man I could wear it too. Feminine not in a grandma floral bouquet way, though. I personally prefer it on my partner due to its distinctly feminine undertones. Overall, it's an alluring, seductive, and classy scent with its unexpected contrasts and evolving character. It brings to mind a velvet-clad room from 80s movies. It's really similar to the original. this stuff is truly fantastic. i was super nervous about it because of the mixed reviews but amaz*n had it for under 20$ and the bottle is gorgeous so i figured it would at least look good on my shelf lol, but in fact this is my new fave scent! it truly is rich and satiny, sweet but not cloying. The vanilla almost reads as caramel combined with the slight smokiness of the extremely mild oud, the roses are red and purple not powdery pink ones. the violets are sufficiently piquant and herbal to balance it out. The scent doesn't really change as it dries down, but somehow it gets deeper and more rich as it warms on the skin. i've never smelled the MK oud satin mood so I can't compare to that, but i realized that it makes me think of a baby sister or young niece of the classic revlon ciara -- not the opening with the neroli and palmarosa of course, but the drydown of sweet, animalic and vanillic amber with iris-rose and woodiness. BSO is a bit more of a 'clean' amber, and updated with a fresher rose, and gentle oud instead of rosewood-cedar, but has a lot of the same rich, hypnotic powder and amber vibe. The MK fragrance has benzoin but I feel like the resin in this one reads as opoponax, perhaps because of the combination with the violet. Also has a similarity to pas de velours by les nereides, though without as much of the incense 'smoke.' the notes on this listing are wildly off though, i have no idea where they came from lol

Such a delightful scent to wear. The warm rose brings me back to when I was in my mom’s dressing room and her perfumes were in the air, all mixed in. It also brings back high school memories when as a cheerleader, I was given a splash of this big bottled pink baby cologne called Para Mi Bebe. It’s definitely not your old lady rose scent. It’s more like neighbor’s fragrant rose mixed with woody and musky wind. I love it! I’m so glad this isn’t $400 because I would most likely use it sparingly and not often. This scent is also so pleasant, I don’t mind smelling myself all day and hoping other people don’t either. Blind buy this if you won’t mind sublime rose and mild oud together. It’s strong in a way that it lasts a long time on my clothes and skin but also in a not so intense way. This is a more mature scent though - not for teenagers or early twenties. Unisex. Wear this by the pool at night or even during the day. It may be too intense for school and office.

I'm still surprised of the quality of this scent. Blind bought it for 30 usd expecting not that much. It turned out to be the best Maison Alhambra perfume I've ever smelled. I haven't tried te OSM Extrait version, only the original one and I have read that this is more similar to the extrait. Well, for me it's still too close to the OG. First of all, I want to make it clear that this DNA is not for everyone. Like most rose fragrances, if you haven't ventured into that world, it might strike you as an old lady as first impression. Especially for men. However, If you're already into rose fragrances and do not have an issue with them this is totally a hit. Especially for the clean, powdery and sweet dry down. As a man this gives me thousands of compliments. I'd describe it as opulent, seductive and elegant. The price in relation to what it offers this is a 10/10.

Dark and spicy rose forward fragrance. The opening is quite strong and a bit sharp from saffron and spices but soon this big bold rose becomes velvety and powdery. I can imagine there could be oud accord somewhere but I can't clearly smell it. It is complex and well blended, transitions are quite smooth for such a cheap perfume and performances are so impressive. From the first this was beast mode projector lasting all day. I'm not sure how close is to the original but reminds me of two perfumes from my collection L extase rose Absolute and Xerjoff Soprano. Soprano has more prominent oud and milky texture, while Rose absolute is more jammy and lacks that powdery texture. It's a love.

When I first bought and sprayed it was very powdery and floral on the opening. Gets sweeter and a little bit more spicy as it dries down. But after having it for 2-1 week it has changed ALOT. on the opening now I get a really spicy sweet vanilla rose with only a bit of powderyness. It's the kind of scent that grows on you over time. Even when I first had it projection was at least 1-2 hours and the LONGEVITY! could smell it on myself the next day and it was still very strong. In my opinion it's nothing below a 10/10 very good quality and smell giving that you can pick it up for 19 dollars give or take. Highly recommend will be buying another when this runs out.

I really wanted to like this... When it arrived, I thought it was powdery and old fashioned smelling. I let it macerate for a few weeks. This week I tried it again and it had changed in a good way and was less powdery. I liked it and wore it on my hand for an hour or two. Unfortunately I started to feel unwell, and head achy. It seems it is in the same boat as Delina; another rose fragrance that my body cannot tolerate smelling for long. I wish I could find a toned down version of one of these. Edit: a couple of weeks later I tried it again. Now I can wear it without headaches and in fact I now love it... to the point I’m thinking I should have a backup lol.

This scent is addicting. right out of the box it is loud (projecting) and long lasting. To me at first it smelled like an intense baby powder scent. I am not sure if they do this still but when I was a child, I had a baby doll that had the baby powder scent infused in its plastic, so the smell was constant. This smells like that, and believe me that is a good thing. Now that I have had it for months now, I can say there is also a nice powdery rose scent alongside the baby powder scent, so its not so linear. I will say, dont overspray, a few sprays is enough for the whole day. I also get a lot of compliments on this one.

Gorgeous and sophisticated scent! Smells very similar to another fave of mine called Best Dark Oud by Scent of Individuality, also inspired by MFK Oud Satin Mood. I haven’t smelt the MFK one, but I feel I don’t need to spend so much on it if I have such an amazing dupe at a great price. This smells silky smooth, powdery, sweet and deep to me. I get lots of the rose, Oud, iris and amber. The notes are well blended. I wore this last night and could still smell it the next afternoon! Wonderful projection & longevity, we love that don’t we?! I adore the scent profile, I’m happy to have this in my collection. I recommend! 🩶

Just got this perfume after deliberating about it for months. First impressions, did I make a mistake? Nah. I’ve been wearing this for 3 days, and I do find it strangely addictive. It’s layering beautifully with other scents like Mohra, His Confession, and Vanilla Voyage/Cream Velvet. To the person that stated it smells like skin so soft by Avon, they’re not wrong. It’s a little more refined than that, but I do smell that profile as well. Not a safe blind buy. It’s very grandma forward, but I also have a massive cardigan collection, so it tracks.

This is literally Oud Satin Mood.. I cannot believe this was so cheap because the smell that hits your nose.. it’s blended just as well as OSM.. it’s just as beast mode and it’s friggin gorgeous and intoxicating and did I say cheap because I paid like 26 bucks for this and could not believe how obsessed I was or how well that they perfected the scent. It just goes to show that niche fragrances don’t truly need to be expensive yet when we pay for certain names and aesthetics we end up putting out a ton more money.

There is something bold about this one.. weird and wonderful I feel like I am smelling fresh beautiful flowers and baby powder but in a hospital or funeral home. Sterile cleaning products, the room is a tad bit stale like mildew. That probably sounds confusing and bad but this is a respectable old money establishment, the old dated carpet is signature, and flowers are expensive. I actually love this one and think its great value. This packs a big punch, one spray only, lingers and stays on clothes.

Fragrances are an exciting time travel. I don't actually use this at all, Nina Ricci's L'Extase Rose Absolue is just so much perfection in my opinion. Still, after finding this dupe, this scent profile takes me back to time when I compared Oud Satin Mood and that my big love from Nina Ricci, so I can't give up on this though... I get iron here, even blood, but subtly. I think this is a gothic scent at its best!

I absolutely LOVE this perfume. Out of all the perfumes I've had and have, this Lil Cheapie is my all time favorite. It's sweet and powdery and totally addicting. I also have the Barakkat version which is equally good. I am just crazy about that Oud Satin Mood DNA. Yay for Lattafa/Maison Alhambra for this excellent inspiration. Love this House.

Never smell the OG (MFK Oud Satin Mood) surely i love the sweetnesses, but it can be oversweet for some people, very mass pleasing for me it basically rose, oud and sweet notes. Definitely Alluring, Enchanting, Luxurious scent. Good for special occasion in night/cold weather. Performance is beyond at it prices 🔥 Overall 9.5/10 ✨

I love oud satin mood from MFK. No treatise needed. It’s close enough, affordable and develops beautifully. It sticks to the skin, literally! That’s what accounts for its longevity. A brave foray into the world of clones by parent company Lataffa. 9 out of 10. Bottle is classical, no gimmicks. The stickiness is a bit annoying!

Okay, noses, we are gatekeeping this one. I need to smell like this and don’t want the price to increase. Say it’s not as good as the original, it smells like gasoline, whatever you gotta do and hoard this before word gets out. Omertà. Edit in 2025: You all had ONE job! Now this is hard to find on the cheap. I give up.

I love love love this, it's very similar to the original but I love this one more. A delicious vanilla oud, starts nice, a few minutes later it's a bit iffy but soon it develops into a lovely smooth, powdery and unusual. Gorgeous drydown. You'd need to enjoy oud to love this IMHO 💖

For 18 bucks this fragrance has layers to it. Not linear at all which is hard to find in this price point. Saffron dominates the opening and then goes away in 15 minutes or so. I love rose and oud scents so this is perfect. 9.5/10. Extra half point for insane longevity and sillage.

Less potent than MFK oud satin mood and leans more feminine as well to my nose. Starts off nicely with the rose oud combo, heavy on the rose. Dries down to a sweet vanilla and patchouli smell. It’s almost its own thing to oud satin mood definitely not a 1:1.

Extreme similarity to the OG- but I actually think I prefer this dupe. The rose in the OG was just a tad too sharp for my nose some days, but in this version, the rose is just a little bit sweeter and the vanilla comes through just a bit more. Instant love.

Baroque Satin Oud is pretty damn good. Very close to the og with a less sharp rose, easier on the nose. Great projection and silage. Quite strong for a Maison Alhambra scent. Lovely. Good longetivity too. Cheap and don't need to spend so much on the og

To the last person that said don't buy this because you're gonna hate this. Have you noticed that this has a 4.3? That means roughly 9 out of every 10 people like it. Just because you don't doesn't mean the vast majority of people that try it won't.

This is one of my fave perfumes. And don’t let the ‘for men’ label fool you. This is one is definitely unisex, bordering on being more so for women than men. It’s beautiful. It’s floral, it’s powdery... it smells SO good on the skin.

the performance on his after maceration is unbelievable , I can still smell it on my clothes after a week, I did a experiment on my skin 24 hours without washing my hand

This scent profile is not for the faint of heart. It's bold and beautiful!! I took a risk stepping out of my box and it was worth it. I love it!!

Since I am not familiar with MFK Oud Satin Mood I am not sure how similar is this perfume But can tell that its very pleasant.

it's amazing for the price. to my nose it is 80% similar to MFK Satin Mood. the only difference is strong vanilla note

Nuclear. 95% close to the OG. And absolutely nuclear. lasted 17 hours on skin and projects all across the room.

Strangely addicting granny-like smell. Makes me question myself...

Made a review of this for when I first purchased it and did really enjoy it but of course I still prefer the original. BUT, it is extremely expensive. This dupe is about 95% similar compared to what I said before saying it was only 90% similar to the OG. As the scent continued to grow on me I realized that I do really love this dupe and it is super close. The only difference is the late drydown and the opening. The opening on the dupe is a bit messy but still the candied rose smells amazing, and the drydown is very generic with a heavy vanilla, which is a bit different from the OG. The OG had a bit more richness and the oud was definetely more present in the drydown with that vanilla. Whereas the dupe I don't really detect oud at all in the drydown. Since the opening is very messy i did detect a leathery like almost plasticy like feel which im assuming is why saffron and leather are in this note breakdown comapred to the OG, cause that plastic smell (which I do really enjoy lol) is reminiscent of those 2 notes, but again I will say that the plastic smell is not super present. But overall I love this dupe and will contiue to wear it until I finish my bottle and have the money to hash out on the OG. The rest of the scent is 95% similar with those subtle differences that I mentioned above. Longevity and Projection is not a worry with this scent 10hrs+ on longevity, and 2ft+ on projection for at least 4hrs. Overall Rating: 9/10

Baroque Satin Oud by Maison Alhambra I found this at the right time. Oud Satin Mood was sold out everywhere for what felt like a year and I needed a pivot. Grabbed this on Amazon for about $18 and took the chance. That's a trip to Starbucks, I'm just saying. Even though it is positioned as an alternative to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood, it actually leans closer to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Silk Mood in how it wears. This sits in the family as a first cousin. The DNA is there, but it moves a little differently. The opening comes in softer and more airy than Satin Mood, with a light sweetness and a smoother floral presence. As it settles, the rose and oud combination becomes more noticeable, but it never reaches the same density or richness. It stays cleaner, slightly brighter, and easier to wear. The drydown holds a warm, smooth trail that lingers without getting heavy or syrupy. Where this wins is value. It clearly outperforms its price point. I have had multiple people ask if I was wearing MFK, which tells you how close it gets in the air. Performance is consistent. It projects enough to be noticed, lasts well, and carries a steady presence throughout the wear. It does not feel cheap on skin. thanks to miss Paulina Schar I found an excellent dupe for MFK oud satin mood! This is super close, with great longevity of around 8 hours+. This is for those who want to smell clean but with more depth, and you don't want a heavy dose of white florals. A modern powdery perfume that I can get behind, though it is definitely powdery, almost overwhelmingly so. As for the note breakdown, I don't get much patchouli in the dry down, and if there is leather, it's not animalic. I get iris, rose, oud, vanilla, and slight spices. Very well blended, super smooth and for a fraction of the price of MFK. just don't overspray this one ;)

At first I hated it. All I got was Blackcurrant squash! There's certainly no oud notes in this at all. I couldn't understand why I was only getting Blackcurrant. I tried again then on my second wear I was getting a nostalgic feeling. It took me a while to figure out what was so familiar about it. Then it hit me. ITS YSL babydoll from the 90s early 2000s. The nostalgic feeling got me wearing it a little more. My 6year old little boy gave me the biggest hug and a long lingering sniff and he said I LOVE your SMELL Mama... how could I hate it after that 🥰😅 It's not exactly a safe blind buy but it's growing on me.

Fairly close to the og. I would say about 90% similarity. This one is not as deep and not as smooth as the og. Still a good budget option though. This has an added saffron and slight leather note to it that is not in the og. Will def still be getting the actual MFK in the future. Edit: This smells very close to the og on the skin but in the air it kind of smells like plastic. I don't know how to explain it better. The scent bubble is somewhat off putting.

Do not blind buy this. Your probably gona hate it. I have a weird love/ hate feeling for this particular fragrance. It's very 90s high school vibe. Think ysl babydoll. And my gosh it's strong. It lingers for days. You need to be in the right mood for it 😂 Think Barbie. Think purple. Blackcurrant. Sweet. Sickly sweet. Vanilla muffin. Plastic. Cheap cosmetics. 90s nostalgia. If this is your thing you'll love it!!

It starts off as a really potent sweet almost candy like rose scent combined with a powdery background. Definitely more potent than the original. The magic is in the Mid notes. I'd say probably 90% similarity. The dry down is a little different and I like the smell of the OG better. However for the price you can't beat this. It does more than what's expected to do at this type of price range.

This is quite a good dupe, maybe 85% similar? The original is smoother and more complex, with a slight almost soapiness that I really enjoy. This one is a little syrupy, and the rose is for sure in the spotlight, but the other florals, specifically the iris, are not as prominent as in the OG. Longevity and projection is excellent.

October 2021 batch is a bomb so eternal, so beastly, that will probably outlast all of us reading this message. Unisex probably leaning more granny, but as xaarth beautifully put, it's strangely addicting and makes one question oneself (we both probably have "granny issues")

7/10 Très puissant, plutôt féminin. La rose prédomine clairement,les autres notes restent en retrait même le oud. Il ne se met à ressembler à OUD SATIN MOOD de MFK seulement dans le dry down. Tient sur peau environ 6 heures, projection pas mal.

I'm surprised the reviews say it has oud. No oud here i can confirm. Straight burnt dried rose scent and in a good way. Needs some time to grow on you. Not for everyone though. A very mature scent. Can be layered with oud fragnances.

Dark, powdery, candied roses—this fragrance is nuclear. Don’t use it in high heat and confined spaces unless you hate people.

Glad they added this so I can have all my perfumes accurately listed on my profile. However, I’ve had this for about a year now, and as hard as I’ve tried to enjoy it, I can’t seem to get it to click. it doesn’t come off as cheap, and when I compared it to the MFK, it did seem accurate, albeit not as high quality. If you enjoy jammy, sweet, super powdery oud rose fragrances, you’ll likely enjoy this, but I just don’t think it’s for me. Heavy projection and 8-12 hours on skin, definitely only appropriate for cold weather. Leans slightly feminine but I think anybody could wear this if they wanted to.

I have a bottle of MFK 540 and I have a few good dupes as well. I love that scent so much. I haven't smelled the original MFK Oud Satin Mood but based on the notes I thought I'd enjoy it. This dupe was on amazon for under twenty bucks so I went for it. It is so powdery and cloying and sweet. It is a big no for me. I scrubbed it off but it still very much there. So it gets a good rating for longevity! If you are someone who is put off by overly sweet and powdery fragrances, this one is not for you.
