Exclusif Saffron

When I bought "Exclusif Saffron", the bottle was theoretically already seven months old, so it should have been close... but it wasn't. I left it for another month. The opening, the first five minutes can be hard to bear... but everything that happens later is fine, the scent becomes smooth and pleasant very quickly. The clash of black currant and saffron is quite heavy and makes me think that this frag can easily wait until March. I can now safely say that this proposal from MA is really very good. Leather is very mild, tame... slightly sweet, slightly floral (really, just little floral) and it appears after about an hour, this is the most important moment. It's nice, relatively gentle, won't kill anyone and shouldn't offend anyone. I would say that both longevity and projection are more moderate than strong... but my sons notice this scent on me much more than I do myself. I must have gone blind, conclusion - maybe this perfume is really strong??? It's a rather masculine scent, but it should suit women as well. Because it is so smooth, relatively delicate, it is definitely not as offensive as other fragrances with leather notes. For everyone who lives in moderate climate. March, April, the second half of September, October, November and the first half of December as a fragrance around the clock. Despite everything, it may be too weak in the face of real, cold winter... unless we forget about longer, romantic walks. ;) For now, after a fierce fight, "Saffron" takes third place after "Tabac" and "Oud", but let's wait another three months. When it comes to offers from brands such as Maison Alhambra or Paris Corner, it is pure lottery, but they are very cheap and if I come across something durable, with good parameters, and with a very interesting scent, I am simply satisfied. Now I am here, now everything is OK, and it can only get better. ;) BTW - as with all other frags with a similar profile, I would recommend purchasing a decant... before making your final decision, even if it is so cheap. I paid $21.

Smells incredible, absolutely beautiful combination of leather, floral, and fruity notes. Smells very well blended and high quality. I think almost all the M.A. frags I have are pretty good, but sometimes you get one that's just EXTRA good. This is one of those I managed to knock my bottle over and snap the top off, spilling about half. Even though I quickly decanted the remains into some smaller bottles I had laying around, I just had to buy another bottle. I didn't feel right without it . Haha!

After 3 weeks macerating is a very complex beast mode !! Sharp saffron start and nice finish! Black currant, tonka bean, saffron Mid: Rose, iris Base: vanilla, guaiac wood, leather End!! Minimum vanilla more wood tonka and b. Currant!! But saffron is all the way on your skin!!! Not for kids!! After 30 and winter scent!! Sillage is moderate and longevity is around 6-8 hours or more!!! ITT fills the room!!!!!nice job!!!!!

One of my favorite saffron-forward scents; candied black currant paired with saffron that's a touch medicinal in its spiciness, becomes more floral as it settles into a nice rose vanilla. The leather isn't that strong on my skin, very much in the background. All seasons but summertime should work for this, the heat would make this a it too stifling. Very strong out of the bottle and leaves a trail, lasts all day.

I actually bought this off tiktok, a creator was downsizing her collection and selling it for $20 which is a steal and I was a little bit skeptical since it was a blind buy, but I am absolutely in love with the scent!! I pair it with Rose ,vanilla, even my floral perfumes.It can lean masculine by itself but still a beautiful scent 😍

Blind bought, had no idea about the scent it was based on but wow, this hits well. Really nice opening and just lovely. Will definitely have to go look at others in the range

This stuff is fantastic. For 20 bucks the smell and performance are outstanding. Perfectly unisex fragrance. 10/10. This stuff will fill a room.

Not as sweet as I was expecting, which I am happy about. The saffron is smooth and blends well into the powdery Iris it never feels cloying. It smells neither fruity nor floral. A very subdued sweet floral accord with the drydown having a powdery vanilla mixed with guaiac. Just enough Iris, just enough vanilla without being over the top. Its a bit dusty and has an odd "after smell," almost an acrid sour note, it reminds me a bit of cumin/body odour. Its not unpleasent per say, but it isnt nice either. The silage is moderate and longevity is good, nothing to be wowed about. Works for cool weather, day or evening. I was really hoping for a more leathery note and my nose simply cant smell any leather in this. Its just a sweet vanilla-powder-guaiac wood combo. Im hoping it becomes more robust and the other notes show up after maceration. I enjoy saffron but this is a bit of a let down at the moment. Ill check it again come fall/winter

simultaneously clean and sticky, strong saffron, the vibe is that you're by the wood fire in an arabian desert in a luxury tent and someone served saffron sweets. It's not overly sweet(to my preference) initial spray was headache inducing till it calmed down, now its okay but definitely should NOT be oversprayed (which is good), it's definitely more enjoyable upon settling. It's hot its unisex it's dominant, however it's not a unique kind of smell, as far as the middle east goes. Most definitely cold winter and autumn wear.

very nice spicy-sweet saffron fragrance with an exotic vibe. To my nose, it leans a bit feminine, with hints of floral, fruity, and powdery notes, but overall it’s a really pleasant and well-done spicy scent. I don't really get much leather 6/10

UPDATE 9/5/25: Dang, unfortunately after a few months this one loses a lot of that initial magic and becomes a pretty linear, spicy woody scent. It's okay, but I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking by any means. ORIGINAL REVIEW Wow...this is actually a sleeper. Received 4/25 with a batch date of 12/23. I have not sampled the original so I cannot comment on their similarities. Here are the notes as Fragrantica has not added them for some reason: Top: Black currant, tonka bean, saffron Mid: Rose, iris Base: vanilla, guaiac wood, leather Right out the gate, Exclusif Saffron is bold, spicy, and fruity. I can sense at the very top the combination of black currant and tonka turning a teeeeeny bit pickle-y, but it's for literally 3 seconds as the saffron comes in and punches you in the face. But as my batch date is almost two years old, I expect that to smooth and round out quickly as it matures. After about 45 min/hour comes the rose and iris, adding a sweetness and lightness to the spice...absolutely stunning blend here for a bottle that cost $25. The saffron begins to take a backseat to those floral notes, while keeping them mature and sophisticated. The true mastery of blending comes in the dry down. This is my favorite part of this perfume. Vanilla and guaiac wood is generally a combination that I can get behind, but I was worried that adding leather would make the base accord turn incensey/oudy. Which normally I don't mind but tying in with the spicebomb opening would be a bit much. Oh no no. This is not your standard leather jacket smell here. It is smoooooth and so subtle but you know it's there. The rose is also still present, keeping a delicate balance of femininity with the restrained masculinity of the leather. Not overbearing but adding a refined touch that elevates this fragrance in my mind to niche class. To me it leans more unisex, but if you're a woman who likes more heady, nuanced scents then you might like this. Would not say it's a safe blind buy, but for the price it's worth the risk if you already like spicy/floral/sweet/slightly woody scents. Longevity (around 6ish hours) and sillage (definitely 2-3 feet at least) are decent but I expect these to improve with age. Better for fall/winter/cooler spring temps. The weather where I am currently is a bit cooler so outside when a nice breeze is blowing through really makes this shine. Overall 8/10: Right now the opening is a bit harsh but hoping it mellows. Wish the mid notes lasted longer. Will have to test the OG to compare.

This is really really nice. Got this for a good price and wanted to try it out of curiosity just to see if I’d like the scent profile of Saffron Lazuli. Reminds me a bit of Initio Side Effect but the little brother of it. I’d definitely wear this on nights or anytime it’s a little cool out. Definitely worth $20 it’s going for, 8/10

Super strong, feminine leaning. Difficult to wear. but very high quality. Exclusif Tobacco is the one to get if your a guy. Unbelievable quality.

I love saffron, due to that I purchased a 10 mill dekant to probing, but this is not that. This is scary for me. It's totally on the feminine side. Too much florals, tonka and vanilla and the leather and saffron is on zero. For me, it's too heavy and geil. The strong coconut overtones are really there and not at all pleasant with the rosy vanilla sweetness. In fact, I can't imagine it on ladies either, so cloyingly sweet. Maybe, the old "lady" in the Mr. Bean cartoon...it would suit her..(!) UPDATE: From the 5th hour onwards, a jam-like cinnamon-red berry note appears, but it doesn't improve the overall impression much. As usual, the scent is hideous, but its strength is frenetic. Scent: -2/10 Pushing: 8.5/10 (12 hour +)

I’ve used this for a month now. It’s got a lovely scent profile. But its longevity on skin is incredibly low for some reason. I tried it on moist skin and dry skin and it doesn’t stay beyond an hour. But it stays on fabric for a very long time. The sillage is moderate to low. I used this in Autumn and I’m now using it on winters as a daily use perfumes. Nevertheless it’s a good buy for 70 AUD. Edit: I let the fragrance macerate for just a week and now the performance and projection on skin is quite good. Easily 6+hours. Sillage: strong for first hour and moderate to intimate for the next few hours.

OMG this is amazing! Beautiful! The leather is done just right, subtle but definitely there. I can’t believe how good this is for the price! I’ve worn it alone (with several compliments) and paired up wonderfully with Khadlaj Kaurus Secret Musk and Montale Roses Vanille. I can already see this is going to get a workout in my collection and probably be a repurchase. Very nice job MA!
