Exquisite Privé

So I was running a bit late this morning and grabbed this off the shelf and shot it on heavy not thinking on dosage etc. Running into the bedroom to get dressed I heard my Wife "Oh god that smells good!!" repeatedly. That's 17.77$ CAD proving you can't smell a pricetag and good is good at any price. So my first thoughts on this are justfied. I've worn this quite a few times and wanted the review to be honest and from experience. This is as close to Givenchy as you can get. I will be honest. The cloud I shot on this morning really made me think of how I choke when I put on My gentleman scents. It's just on the application it gets stuck in my throat. No other perfume does that. I got a rich thick Vanilla Iris shooting this on. I could feel it trail behind me and envelope me in a fog to the bedroom (like I said I shot it on absently so 7ish sprays?) To which my wife reacted positively and I have been surrounded by this all the way to work and loving it tremendously. Its a smoky sweet boozy vanilla iris. The orange is in there but it's in with the sweet. It's more orange rind than orange tart fruity. Like a rind in liqueure. Which totally ties in with boozy. It's well dressed clean and professional but seductive and masculine as well. I find it closer to Gentleman than boisee or intense. It's the second most well behaved gent. I don't regret not having the reserve Privee Flanker . This is very very convincing. Crazy Alhambra Value Honestly. Im a cheap audiophile as well as a cheap scent junky. I pay for the good stuff only when I have to.

This is a pre-emptive review after a wrist test after recieving the order last night. This will mature but here's my first impressions from one spray across the back of my hand. Initially shot in the box it was terrible . I wasn't super nervous because body testing and maturing help these scents alot. I can just say from the first sprays I almost regretted the buy.... and then the Iris note says HELLO!! I shot it on my hand and huffed it for a few hours on and off to see how it dried down while Watching the Beautiful and Incredible Erin Burnett Out Front. This gets you respectably close to a Givenchy Gentleman Flanker. I own and adore that line but did not get the Reserve Privee Flanker . It doesn't shoot on with that Iris Powdery Choking cloud like my new Givenchy Gents did before they matured and settled down. It does give you that Gentleman DNA that is unmistakeably Givenchy albeit in a less complex blend. It would definitely fool a connaisseur and I know the line well. I got some boozy orange at one point. the iris is as present as the real thing . It faded quickly on a dry skin winter hand with one spray only. This will get much much better. I recommend this dupe and once again as a Maison Alhambra Clone junky ...a JOB very respectable done for my 17.77$ CAD. Box and Bottle are also super nice although it matters little. Not Unisex in my opinon. Very nicely Masculine...but wear what you want if you love it.

Finally on fragrantica. Lovely one, very much recommend. It costs around 9 euro in poland so that's a no brainer, although inekas luna has gone down in price and you can get it here at ~15 euro so i would rather recommend to get that one in that case, because Inekas is projecting stronger (although still in average category, but upper level, not lower like Prive exq.). Both smell very similar though. If you see Exquisite Prive and Inekas Luna at similar price, don't think twice, just get Inekas Luna

A blind buy since I couldn't resist the price drop. Since I'm a fan of Dior l'Home I was sold. My first spray was a big surprise of the depth and complexity of the perfume. My old daughter was passing by when she got a whiff of the scent in the air, all I heard was "Wow Dad!" I was pleasantly surprised that it had that a good sillage and masculine attraction. Nice manly sweet dark scent, but not sure how long or how different will it smell later! So far I'm rating this 8 out of 10

Blind buy on this one and soooo glad I did. Only difference between this and Gentleman Eau de Parfum Reserve Privée is the strength. They nailed the scent and for the price its a fantastic deal for a clone of an original. The scent is superb.

Awesome dupe, really close to the original. Replicates the sweet -boozy-powdery iris profile very good. Great value for the price 8/10

The scent is extremely beautiful, i agree with the dude below regarding the scent profile but the projection and longevity are not so good for me, if after maturation it will become a bit more projecting then switching to "love" would be a no brainer Update : compared this to the og, they are 70% similar. A minute after the open, the main part of this perfume is basically just iris and vanilla with some mild woody backbone and small amount of hard to notice florals in the background, they basically just "color" the iris a bit . The OG is stronger/projects more and different, you feel the iris and you feel strong chestnut which is like vanilla and woods, and also you can feel the unique whiskey note, its not alcoholic whiskey but rather the flavors of it, the og is more interesting and sophisticated but the MA version is still very nice and more so considering the price But still, weak performance for now, its just like the dude below said, it has no lift, after a couple of minutes it sits very close to skin, the og has more pop to it, behaves like a perfume, will have to give it a proper full wear to really evaluate it TL:DR: nice perfume, smells good and seductive, for now very weak, og blows this out the water in every aspect significantly, but ofc way more expensive

Great release by Maison Alhambra. I have this, the original, Dark Door Intense and His Confession. I would have to say that out of the 4 my favorite is definitely Dark Door Intense from the Lattafa iris offerings but this one is no slouch. This is basically 1:1 with GRP with the only difference being a slightly worse quality and reserve Privee having a more pronounced boozy aspect but only on the opening. Dry down on GRP and Exquisite Privee is the exact same. Performance is also 1:1 making GRP redundant as a whole, I know some people will have a bias towards the original and I am that kind of person but for real there's no reason to buy the Givenchy when this exists. Also in my personal opinion both Dark Door and Exquisite Privee are much better than His Confession scent wise, the only reason I'd go with his confession is that it has beast mode performance and sillage but in turns it makes it smell so much more cloying and synthetic specially compared to DDI and Exquisite. 9/10 if you love iris on a budget.

Differences I get with the og on strip More -synthetic fruit musk smell -airy bubblegum -harsh and thin -watered down bright iris Less -round boozy -dark and full -woody and powdery -layered It's very noticeably different from the og. I don't like it, whereas I love the og. Performance is horrendous, soft projection for 1hr.

I’m impressed with this one. The vibe that Exquisite Prive gives me is that its slightly sweet (not syrupy) coming from the orange note, and soft and seductive coming from its iris and jasmine notes. It’s surprisingly smooth and not harsh at all. The rum top is only there at the beginning upon initial spray, which then quickly dies down to transition into its deeper vanilla base. I just got the bottle, so the powdery features that are said to be part of this fragrance most likely haven’t fully revealed itself yet because of the maceration process it needs to go under after aging for a while. The powdery feature is still there of course. This is a seductive and comfortable wear. No harsh tones peak out throughout the life of it. On skin, it performs decently so far. Moderate projection for 2-3 hours, then a subtle scent bubble for hours 4-8. On a tester strip I sprayed this morning (it’s night time now), I can still very well detect that the scent is still there. The main notes that my nose and brain can immediately identify is the orange and vanilla. The iris blends with the orange and vanilla well and is more so there to provide a texture to it when you smell it, as compared to being at the forefront. The main players are definitely how the orange mixes with the vanilla. It reminds me of an orange creamsicle ice cream pop. I really dig this one. For its price, even at its current age (considering that I just got it), I am very satisfied. It will only get better the longer I have it and let it sit. Creamy, soft, and seductive orange and vanilla with a hint of iris-y powder and boozy rum. Unique! Looking forward to wearing this on rainy and cold front days. Ought to be nice to layer with other soft and laid back rainy day scents too, but with caution so too many notes don’t clash. I think this might compliment well with Liam Grey, although I haven’t tried it yet. It doesn't quite have the "lift" I wish it had (atleast yet) off of skin or clothes. It's not necessarily "flat", but more dialed back and not screaming or leaving a scent trail for too long than is welcome. Solid!

Yes the only difference between this and Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Prive is that Givenchy is stronger. But scent is 100% on point & good to go straight out the box. Indeed a gentleman fragrance.
