Jean Lowe Noir

AGAIN, I just drove to my local LV store to compare this with the OG, (Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade, AKA "LVON") and here's the deal. First off, all these smoky, leathery, super-masculine fragrances aren't for everyone, but I'm not talking to those folks. Noir (formerly known as Jean Lowe "Ombre" - apparently the name was changed for legal reasons) is not quite as "refined" or fruity (raspberry note) on the top as the OG. On the opening, Noir is brighter and more forward than the more reserved LVON. Is it an EXACT 1:1 clone at dry down?? Of course not. I'm not sure there is such a thing as a 1:1 clone of anything. Anyway, upon dry down, I prefer the more leathery, smoky and mature fragrance of Noir every single time. Now, allow me to REALLY add insult to injury... LVON is retailing for $430 or so and is not usually available at discounters. FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS!! Unless you're a trust fund baby that's never worked a day in his life and/or you have a mid-eight figure net worth, I can't imagine who would spend $430 for LVON. Don't get me wrong... I have my share of very expensive bottles, but nothing at all from LV. At $430 the OG is not just bordering on insulting its cliente, it pole vaults over insulting. I will buy a Jean Lowe clone (or "inspired by") 10 times out of 10 over anything in the LV line. I actually feel bad for the LV staff that are forced to push the (B.S.) company line to earn their pay. The Jean Lowe Noir IS lacking some raspberry on the opening but I like its fragrance straight up over the LV. Do I lack taste? Maybe, but I doubt it. I'll save myself $400 and get the JL Noir and with the saved cash, I'll buy a bottle (or two) of something that's actually worth $400+, thank you very much... Overall rating: 8.75 / 10.00

This is a brutal smoky, dark amber fragrance, emphasizing dark, earthy woods and a persistent incense smoke. This floral component is neither overtly feminine nor light; rather, it presents a rich, leathery facet. Comparing it to the LV original, this lacks the raspberry note, but otherwise remains true to the DNA. This fragrance is a remarkable value at approximately $25, an excellent addition for those seeking darker fragrances suitable for winter wear. While most will likely reserve this for formal occasions and special social functions, it could also serve as a signature scent for a man with a mysterious, reticent persona, perhaps one who favors a moto jacket, a well-groomed beard, and exudes a strong masculine aura. It is a compelling fragrance, though not recommended as a blind buy unless the wearer has a pre-existing appreciation for smoky, incense-forward, and dark olfactory profiles. Be forewarned, though: this fragrance projects an undeniable aura of villainy—a dark, sophisticated, and perhaps slightly menacing presence, reminiscent of a classic film noir anti-hero. UPDATE: "Shelf maceration" of 2 months resulted in a smoother opening. Still a brutal wood and leather fragrance only tempered by the floral notes. If you want a "lite" version of this, try Lueur D'Espoir Arena Emir by Paris Corner - more rose forward, significantly less smoky, but plenty of oud.

#1095 in my "Tour de Fragrance" First off, this is absolutely not a dupe of Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade." Being sensitive to rose notes and their grandmotherly character, and hating raspberry notes for their cloying sweetness, I am not a fan of the Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade", or Liquides Imaginaires "Bloody Wood", Franck Olivier "Oud Touch", Lattafa "Al Qiam Gold", Atelier des Ors "Rose Omeyyade", Amouroud "Oud du Jour", Gucci "Intense Oud", or any of the other raspberry and rose scents out there they try to peddle as unisex. Honestly I've yet to encounter any LV scent that impressed me with anything other than it's scandalous pricing, so I'm very happy to confirm the people calling this an "Ombre Nomade" dupe aren't even close. At least Frederic Malle doesn't pretend "Portrait of a Lady" and "Rose Tonnerre" are anything other than women's scents, and I'd say only for older women. In fact, if the notes of this scent actually did match the Louis Vuitton "Ombre Nomade" I never would have bought it. This scent does not have that nauseating raspberry/rose combination sweetness. It's a wood, spice, incense aromatic, and a good one. Long-lasting, good projection, and a successful blind buy for me. Car pool, elevator and small office safe, for colder weather, formal wear, and I think it will also shine as a masculine date night scent.

Just got this arrived to my home few days ago, so I started to spray this on yesterday and today, even tho it's in summer. I know this needs to be mature for while. The projection isn't bad before it seats, there's this prominent scent bubble ard me and no problem for the longevity. I notice alot of ppl not getting Raspberry note but actually it's quite prominent. I think ppl who didn't get the Raspberry note, needs to smell more inceasey dark fragrances and then get bk to this. This is great clone of LV Ombré Nomade. Updated on Jan. 22nd, 2025 After letting it sit and mature for more than 3 months, the notes really blend well with each other, alot more smoother. Less of the harsh from the Rose, smells alot better. Starts to love it more and more. If U love TF Oud Wood and u want some alternative that smells completely different but gets u similar style, this could be the one. Feels like in between TF Tuscan Leather X TF Oud Wood 😍

The leather has already completely dissappeard by now Regrettably, the longevity of the scent on the skin is limited to approximately three hours. Extended maceration of at least one to two months is strongly advised to enhance its performance. Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 5/10 Smell: 8.75/10 Overall assessment: 7.75/10

For the cheap price, the juice and the presentation are amazing, it's a good clone of the og though it lacks the tiny amount of the real oud or real rose oil the og has, still the overall theme of that leathery oud accord+ fruity rose accord is there but the process of drying down to that leathery woody vanillic scent is faster than the og. The performance is good but not as good as the og (around 8 hours of longevity max vs 24+ hours of the og), but in that 8 hours the projection is great so overspraying might give you headaches so keep that in mind. The presentation and the magnetic cap are unnecessary though, I would rather have crappy bottle/presentation but have a juice that lasts as long as the og, putting the budget in the juice and making it as flawless as possible is the right way to do it vs wasting money on the presentation, but thats just me.

Nose Note #908 I'll be quick. This is like a twin of Al Qiam Gold. It feels a bit weaker honestly. Maybe a bit less heavy on the leather and a bit more rosy, but otherwise - just the same thing. I was expecting something different, because apparently neither translate the DNA super close. But if so, why do both evidently target a very similar composition? 100% redundant if you have Al Qiam Gold. Test before you buy, this DNA is quite challanging, definately not for everyone despite the high ratings. 8/10, I love all those oriental rose+oud combos, I've gone through many

This is a revision of MA ombre for sure. This is definitely masculine. That being said, as a female, I really appreciate the depth in this. I enjoyed it from the first spray out of the bottle. Initially, there was the strong scent of tobacco but it has just completely settled into this beautiful blend. I am only shortly into it but am getting so much out of it. I might have a hard time pulling this off although I have claimed it for myself, but will love it on my man. This is a fantastic fragrance for the price! ( If you appreciate these type of fragrances)

The combo base note of this perfume (oud + wood+ benzoine+amber+incense +geranium) remind me a lot to Asad Elixir, which is very well-refined oudy, smooth and polish. For those who love Asad Elixir definitely love this perfume. To compare, JL Noir is less woody(no cedar) ,less masculine vibe (no tobaco and patchouli), less sweet(Vanila is replaced by Rasperry) than Asad Elixir but more fruitier in the openning and mid. Therefore, it is more wearable than Asad Elixir. This perfume is a absolute banger !!! I highly recomend this into your collection.

I tested it side by side with the real one and i can say from the bottom of my heart that it is extremely close and even my brother who owns and wears the real one every day said that they are almost identical. The only difference i picked up was that jean lowe had a more barn yard smelling oud in the first 10 minutes which faded quite fast and also the performance of the OG is better.For the price difference this is absolutely worth it

This one is a bomb. The opening might be a little strong and hard to like but after a little time, it becomes an absolute beast. Siliage is strong. Walk into a room and everyone will smell you. Longevity is king. Sprayed it 2/3 times on one of my coats and it still smells 4 days after...beast. You'll get a lot of Oud, Rose and incense. Very budget fragrance with a lot of value. Would reccommend.

first spray and it hits you like a leathery, smoky cloud of mystery. very dark, very masculine. the oud in this is really heavy-oriental, it smells like animals + barns + burned leather -very mysterious, slightly evil dude if you want a dark, leathery, smoky, mysterious, slightly barny, can’t-stop-sniffing vibe, this is the perfect scent intense, moody, mysterious 8/10

So want to Harrods the other day and smelt Ombre Nomade. Holly crap this is really close to it and I mean really close it is amost a 1-1.I went to buy Ombre Nomade but there was no need Jean Lowe Noir makes it a bit redundant.If you get a chance go to an LV store and smell it,you will see what I mean. I can not wait till winter and give this a full wear.

It's a smoky leather, for me it's more of a dupe of LV nouveau monde than Ombre nomade, saffron is the most dominant note, a very good perfume which gives me a higher rating considering the price, the ingredients and the blend, I didn't know this house which really impressed me. looking forward to trying the other fragrances from the house.

I have Lattafa al qiam,royal night and this.Love all 3 and let me tell you this one performs the best,after 6 hours still projecting.Amazing dna the only negative i can say for this, im missing a very fruity raspberry opening, this is just very oudy and dark,that would be so good.Otherwise its amazing

On my skin rose comes to play after 30 minutes. Its just beautiful how well is blended with the oud. I love oud fragances, and this one is probably the heaviest one i own. I would definitely wear it on a beach night in summer aswell. Longevity and sillage is mid on my skin

All this negativity in the comments here pisses me off. All I get is compliments whenever I wear this. Strangers stop me in the street to ask for the fragrance's name, FFS. Please keep your snobbish negativity to yourselves; it doesn't make you an expert.

You are cover I used car oil that smell is like a photography but some how it has something unique and so good, you fill the room with this scent and is super masculine you are going to get compliments for sures but only by mens hahaha 8.7/10

These notes are nowhere close to what's in the actual fragrance. I didn't like it at first but now I do. To the people that say it's like ombre leather it's nothing like ombre. Very strong and lasts a long time. 8/10.

This Cologne Jean Lowe Noir is such a good quality and dark incense, if you want the perfect blend, try mixing it with Badee al oud Amethyst and you'll have a perfectly rich, smooth mystery scent! Thanx me after!
