Luminous Vivid

Luminous Vivid is hard to get, at least here in Poland, so the price is higher than the other PdM clones from Maison Alhambra, but I finally managed to grab it for 79 PLN / 18 eur instead of 100 PLN / 23 eur , while the other mentioned clones go for around 50 pln / 11 eur. Compared to Perseus by PdM (which I’ve only smelled from the cap in the store so far), Perseus seemed much stronger/more pronounced, even though I only removed the cap and didn’t spray in it. It was also more complex and clearly felt more expensive, but the overall DNA in Luminous Vivid is the same. However, by complete coincidence, the day before I bought Ivanhoe by Yves de Sistelle (the regular one, not Ivanhoe in Black; for 57 PLN / 13 eur), which is supposedly a clone of Terre d’Hermès (I don’t know that one). As soon as I sprayed Luminous Vivid, I immediately noticed the same grapefruit as in Ivanhoe, and indeed the scents are basically identical. I used two sprays of each on my forearm and two on the inner elbow, and the only differences are: In the opening, the grapefruit in Ivanhoe is clearly bitter, while in LV it’s balanced by sweet orange or mandarin, so the result is neither sweet nor bitter — it’s just right. But this opening lasts very briefly, so it really doesn’t matter. After 5–15 minutes both fade into the same scent, with LV settling into Ivanhoe’s bitterness. It’s pleasant. The only thing is that LV is stronger and more noticeable, as if Ivanhoe had been sprayed earlier and was disappearing faster, but otherwise it’s the same scent. And indeed, Ivanhoe projects less and lasts shorter. After about an hour, Ivanhoe became a skin scent, LV about half an hour later, so not a huge difference, but throughout that time LV was clearly more detectable. From the 2nd to the 4th hour of wear (while I’m writing this), Ivanhoe is already hard to smell on the skin, though still possible, whereas LV I can still clearly smell when I bring my nose close. It’s simply a stronger fragrance than Ivanhoe. Ivanhoe feels like smelling LV from a slight distance, but it is exactly the same scent, really. Next time I’ll try spraying Ivanhoe 4 times and LV 2 times to see if that evens them out, but even if it does — what’s the point, since LV costs less than twice as much. And over time it might become more widely available in Poland and the price may drop to around ~50 pln / 11 eur like the rest of the PdM clones from Maison Alhambra. Maybe I’ll also manage to apply Perseus on skin and compare it directly with them, not just from the cap, and then I’ll edit the review. Lastly, I’ll note that I only just bought both fragrances, so over the coming months they might each change in different ways, but I doubt it. The similarity is too strong.

Me sorprendió mucho el aroma de este perfume, es muy versatil y su fondo ambarado me encanta. Duración sobre las 8 horas y un costo muy contenido, realmente vale la pena probarla.

Im not sure whats so enjoyable about this scent profile, you just get some grapefruit / bergamot at the opening and then its just the dry vetiver throughout the whole perfume. it reminds me of some cheap car air freshener or something else but its just not a good scent for a perfume in my opinion, can't wrap my head around the idea of choosing to wear this over so many other good perfumes.

Better to go for Gulf Orchid Mango Ice or French Avenue Vulcan Feu.

Very rindy bitter grapefruit, I was so excited for this one but I just can’t see myself wearing it
