Narcotic Flower

This just came in and I already love it!! This happens to be my kind of fragrance! I find orange blossom to be the best note ever! It is so fresh with the light citrus and lychee! I gravitate towards this type of scent, so I have a lot of fragrances like this in my collection so I find it similar to many of those! So, it’s not overly unique but very pretty all the same! I will be wearing this a lot!! I love Maison Alhambra scents due to the fact that they mostly have fabulous longevity and protection! I would definitely recommend this and also consider it blind buy worthy if you like fresh fruity florals! Edit- after my review, I looked at the “reminds me of” section. I saw Pleasures mentioned. I thought “no way!”. Pleasures is number one on my list of least favorite fragrances! I knew someone that wore this and oversprayed it to the maximum making it a nauseating and suffocating experience. Therefore, the slightest sniff of it brings back that negative reaction by me. Well, in the dry down, that Pleasures scent does in fact come out! Now, I can’t unsmell that! I loved this from the opening, but the dry down makes this an absolute no for me! I thought I’d add that. If you’re not sensitive to that, or enjoy pleasures, you will like this. Unfortunately, for me, that fragrance is ruined, and therefore, this one is also.

Flower addiction is the new name for Narcotic Flower Maison Alhambra in their 2024 release. The bottle I bought is PD. 02/2024. This is inspired by Fleur Narcotique Ex Nihilo. On first sprays, the lychee, peach fruitiness and notes is the main highlight, pronouncing themselves loudly before settling down a few minutes later, short lived but I wish it lasted longer. The opening and flora heart notes makes this a nice soothing scent I'll say, definitely more feminine but a guy can wear this, no problem. I have nosed Fleur Narcotique before and if my memory remains correct, this is pretty darn close to the og. And this has better silage and projection, somewhat louder and more pronounced. It's probably stronger than the og. I'm pretty impressed with this alternative because it's so inexpensive and cheap I'll say as compared to how much the og is and yet off the skin or clothes, most would not be able to tell them apart. For a fragrance with lychee and peach and floras, I prefer this to other popular fragrances that are lychee dominant, especially the PdM ones. This is more wearable daily and anytime, you won't feel the pinch overspraying it and can indulge yourself in more sprays given the economical price tag. One of the better ones from Maison Alhambra and I have many from them to say so.

I will start with a question. Why choose " narcotic" as a word to describe the types of flower in this fragrance? Don't get me wrong, this is a stunning fragrance. It's crisp, airy, fresh, elegant and uplifting, but certainly not Narcotic. Narcotic in a fragrance to me evoques something round, dark, misterious, dense and deep maybe, and that's completely opposite to what this fragrance offers you in terms of olfactory experience. I obviously did some research before buying the fragrance and I was aware of the vibe of it. I'm not disappointed at all, I'm just curious about the name of the fragrance that is totally misleading. That being said, I absolutelly love this perfume. I was caraving a beautiful and elegant white floral fragrance and this had thoroughly scratched that itch. Could be a wedding scent IMO. Anyone getting something reminescent of BR540 here? I'm not a huge fan of that fragrance since it comes through somewhat medicinal to me. But Narcotic Flower ( or Flower Addiction as it's now called) must share some ingredient with BR540 in the best way of course since I like NF and I don't love BR540. maybe it's just me. It also reminds me of delina, sure enough due to the litchi note. I've never smelt valaya so I cannot speak about the similarity to that fragrance.

Ok so let me start off by saying I love this fragrance! I did get it thinking it was going to be a valaya inspo for the most part and it’s not what I got. I have both valaya and mystique bouquet and I wouldn’t say it smells like them. I have never smelled Fleur narcotique so I can’t speak on that, but as for the others I pick up a little of that same clean musky almost laundry scent with those citrus notes, but the scent as whole smells blended completely different. This one is much more creamy which could be the orange blossom kinda almost leaning a tad bit marshmallow maybe, and something about this has this soft sugary rose effect to it. I do get the citrus and the peach but I would say this one is much more scentual and warm as to where the others are more bright and juicy. Everyone’s ph is different so take what I say with an open mind, but I really do think if you want valaya then stick with mystique bouquet. Both are beautiful but they feel like two different moods if that makes sense.

This is now called Flower Addiction, at least in some countries (presumably to avoid getting sued for trademark violations by Ex Nihilio, the brand behind Fleur Narcotique.) Though most compare this to Fleur Narcotique, I’ve never smelled FN and bought this because I heard it was a cousin to Ormonde Jayne’s Levant. For those who’ve never smelled either, this is slightly sweet, bright, fruity, floral. Quite pretty and feminine with the combination of peach, lychee, bergamot, peony and orange blossom. Each note is present and distinct yet harmonizes so well together. I wear this when i want to feel feminine and girly. Or when I want something I can spray with abandon and know it will stick around. This is one of my best fragrances for sillage and longevity, absolutely outperforming perfumes I own at much higher price points - it has remained present for more than 12 hours on me. This perfume is an incredible bargain for fragrance of this high quality.
