Hallucinex DMT

I have seen so many bad reviews of this one and, out of curiosity, had to order a sample. Have y'all ever smelled DMT? This, given that it an artistic interpretation, does an amazing job of taking that DMT scent and making it... beautiful? It does have a bit of petrol in there, but is overwhelmingly a musky jasmine. I was able to catch some hints of another floral as it died down; perhaps that mimosa that's purportedly in there. This is not for everyone. Use with caution. Very heady, large sillage. But, I'm very impressed that someone took such an awful smell and make something so beautiful of it.

okay so turns out I did get a faulty bottle by mistake! I'll write a real review now. To me, DMT smells exactly like old musty hay. it's dusty its pungent, its moist. you may be able to get some floral notes but my nose is not too good at deciphering them. I actually really love it. I have a thing for smelly smells, this has excellent longevity and projection.

emphasis on transparent. maybe I got a faulty bottle but I was one of the winners and it quite literally smells like nothing. just a bunch of alcohol and then a bunch of nothing. Also the straw in the frag only extends a few mm so I would have to hold it upside down after a dozen applications to get anything out.

As a perfume that is supposedly a photorealistic representation of DMT, I have not had an opportunity to be around the real thing so my review is solely based on smell without reference. I love artful perfumes, and this was just a tiny bit disappointing. I really didn’t know what to expect, but based on reviews I expected a chemically stinky, petrol-like, iodine heavy ride. However, all I smelled is what the inside of a plastic doll smells like with the slightest tinge of burnt here and there, like how a toy motor would smell if it worked too hard. If I visited the factory where they make cabbage patch kids or those little green army men, this is what I would imagine the smell would be. It’s unique, although one note. The sillage, for me at least, is skin close at 2.5 sprays. As an experiment, I layered this with Chris Rusak’s LMB, and wow, it really adds a complimentary weirdness to the already weird fragrance that is LMB. As a perfume as DMT (one note, skin intimate sillage, unique scent), this will be used more as a layering fragrance than something I’d showcase on its own.

DMT: Very strange scent, it is a smell of high synthetic plastic, that's it. Like a new tech or rubber case when you just opened it THC: Fresh and very intense green herb - wormwood/Artemisia absinthium/полынь leans masculine LSD: Sweet powdery vanilla/tonka bean and some greeny patchouly in the background. Oh no...... I like challenging scents but this takes it to a whole new level. The moment I applied this I knew I made a mistake. I’m getting a gasoline smell with rotten, indolic jasmine flowers. So strong it’s blowing the roof off my house. Bleh. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, especially when the bottle was won through a contest sponsored by Fragrantica and Mason Anonyme. I would give it away but I’m not sure who would want it.

I won a bottle of Hallucinex DMT in a giveaway here on Fragrantica. (Yay!) The package arrived. (Yay!) I sprayed. (Quelle horreur!) In contrast to the reviewer below me who got nothing but alcohol, I'm getting a WHOLE LOT of something... bad. And worse, very strong. I spritzed a piece of mail, recoiled, and needed to dispose of that envelope outside after 30 minutes. I cannot walk into my kitchen right now because the odor has permeated. Yes, this is a white floral. But I smelled an extremely concentrated, extremely indolic jasmine. I have to believe it's a quality-control issue, that there's some accidentally undiluted aromachemical in the mix. No way could this house release a scent that's (to my nose) orders of magnitude more repulsive than the notorious Sécrétions Magnifiques. Needless to say, my bottle is available for FREE (just cover the postage), if you dare... ETA: A brave Fragrantican took me up on the offer. I’m not sure if they survived the experience.

Yeah, it smells exactly like DMT. Why in the world anyone would want to smell like DMT, I will never understand. It's like someone threw feces on a pile of burning plastic. BUT, it's absolutely, 100% spot on, to the point where I genuinely thought there might be DMT in the bottle. It certainly brought back some wonderful memories!

This review is for Hallucinex: THC, which does not have its own page on here. As a certified THC enthusiast, I've been searching for a favorite cannabis fragrance and I think I found it. The bright and zesty opening bowls me over completely; it was so different from the usual cannabis-themed fragrance that's reliant on herbs, seeds, and patchouli to get the point across. Hallucinex: THC actually does a decent nod to the limonene, pinene, and other terps that we love so much. In the middle, the ash comes through, as well as a hint of the herby-seediness I expected, but it doesn't dominate like in the others I've tried. It leans towards cigarette ash, and I don't mind it, as it makes me miss my friends who smoke cigarettes, but I acknowledge this won't be sweetly nostalgic for everyone. I also love that there's no patchouli, and instead they opt for a touch of something floral, maybe jasmine, but it's very light. The third and longest-lasting part of the journey blends the zesty terps, ash, light florals, and herbiness into a classic sort of masculine chypre. I enjoyed wearing it myself but I loooove it on my husband. It lasted 6h on my skin and 12h on his. I'm very tempted to get a bottle "for him" (but actually for him to wear for me).

Disappointed this one does not have a 'burnt plastic' note... :) Very excited to try this one!
